Hoosier Hills Conference

Assuming this is a swipe at me, since I’ve picked against FC the last two weeks. That being said you may or may not have noticed, I really haven’t a clue that two weeks ago I was down a few in the pick em game, if I have ANY chance of making a comeback I had to pick against the people who were ahead of me. So perhaps there was some game strategy involved in my decision to “pick against them”. I have no vested interest in the outcome of ANY of these games and frankly aside from CE, NO ONE from the HHC, including your beloved Highlanders, have historically proved they could do jack shit in the tournament. Maybe this is FC’s year, I have no idea, I think I’ve been pretty open and honest that I’m probably the worst HS Football prognosticator alive. Congrats on “your” sectional trophy, enjoy it. -

Any time HSE loses, the sun shines just a little brighter the next day. And I say this sitting on the deck under glorious fall sunshine with a fine cigar. -

That didn’t last long. -
Old guy at Madison Shawe, standing behind the dugout between innings rippin darts. And I mean like 10 years ago. My partner says “you see that”, ehh, he’s Catholic, he’s on a mission from God.

East Central also benefits GREATLY by having all the execs who choose to live in “rural” Indiana versus the city and the GCL. Plenty of cash around the St Leon area, facilities second to none, and they love their Football over there. Always loved working at EC. -

Every “successful” program has its own dynamics. There’s no magic bullet, however certain factors ALWAYS shine thru. Commitment to a system, hard work, stability in staffs, etc. the difference in dynamics between EC and Brownstown are many, but the tradition, the work, the system, the process, is all the same. All that being said, my daughter used to play club ball for the HC at Scecina. We practiced at Scecina’s home field, Brookside Park. There were two diamonds there and during SB season the put all the banners up, former all-stars, former state champions, former all state players, etc. it was quite impressive to walk into. I asked several current players at the time, do you feel pressure to live up to the the tradition here, EVERY one of them said yes. Lastly my last time in EC’s field was for the Mueller game a few years back, it was Yute Night, holy cow, I ain’t seen that many elementary kids rocking world class mullets in my life! -
Given the Colts history of first round picks, probably a HUGE win for them not getting any.

Name a coach who’s won at N.A. with any regularity in the last 50 years. -
I’m not certain tax dollars can be spent on athletics. In that in many cases these coaches are the highest paid employees of the state and are representing state institutions, I would say the governor does in fact have some say.

Seriously Dude’s on the hook for a 77 million dollar buyout at A&M, now he’s on the hook for 50whatever million at LSU. This has been my main beef with the revolving doors at various IU coaches offices. At some point you need to look at the morons hiring these guys. As far as finding another AD/Coach, let me quote Hillary Clinton, you’d be amazed what you find when you drag a hundred dollar bill around the trailer park.
-
In fairness to the gov, the AD’s hires have created some incredibly expensive buyouts.

Was told one time by an AD that our band won’t be off the field before the end of halftime, but you can’t flag us, nobody effs with our band.

Tough to tell, worked a lot of ball in Evansville over the years, not sure I ever saw “bad” MD team. But Goebel is gone now too. That being said I have seen some public school ball that’s pretty bad. I have a buddy on the staff at Castle, I think Castle is excited to finally get to play FC at home. It’s HS football who knows what a bunch of teenagers are going to do? I let history guide my pick in this game. -

If I only had a dollar for everytime I was yelled at me “they broke the huddle with 12”, I’d be smoking a LOT nicer cigar right now. -
