I hate not having faith in Floyd Central given the year they’ve had but once bitten, twice shy.

Look at the Baseball sectional, FC, NA, or Jeff someone always has two pitchers that will be drafted. NA has a Tennessee State commit this year. If there’s a tougher sectional in the state I’d like to see it. But HHC teams never move on out of that sectional and do much else. If I’m looking at this honestly and I have not see FC play, but Seymour played the entire conference within a couple of points. I have seen Seymour and BNL play and the fact is they’re mediocre at best football teams. @Frozen Tundra I know you’ve been around and you know what I’m talking about. FC finally won some games down the stretch but as I stated earlier in this thread, the SW corner of the state tends to play a little different ball. Best of luck to all the HHC teams, may you play your best ball now, when it counts.

I have quite a few connections to Jennings County. Would’ve been nice to see Buening build something there but I don’t think he had the support needed to do so. Luckily, he was able to find some success at Southridge.

Boy you can say that again.

    That didn’t age well.

A regional title means they’re gonna have to go through East Central (who likely gets bumped up to 5A after this year) and the Bloomington schools or East Central and Whiteland/Franklin.

It will be interesting to see where they send EC in 5A. EC seems to be moving to the next level under Meiners. EC would no doubt win 5A this year, not sure what next year holds for them.

Crazy stat for you guys. This is the first time in HHC history that every HHC team will be playing in the second week of the postseason.

I’d be willing to bet the farm they won’t all see week 3. Football is the anomaly sport traditionally all schools are in the same sectional in non-football sports except East and Madison.
I believe the HHC is getting better as a whole in Football, obviously there’s no 600 pound gorilla anymore but in my opinion the overall level is better.

I’m not aware of any sport seeding the teams/participants except for wrestling. Unless something has changed since my high school days in the mid-2000s, I was on the track team and we never had seeding for any meets (regular season or postseason).

True but aren’t there minimum times to qualify?

3A schools are small or do you disagree? Foundations of athletic departments are the weight room end of the day. We have been lacking for years there in my opinion. So yes I believe you get a freshman group and get them strong and big over a course of 3 years you will 100% change the dynamic and outcomes of a team. Usually those athletes that level and down are playing two ways and you know where they get the endurance and body make up to sustain that? The weight room. No one cares about in season games, just post season- built a crew and in 3 years were State Runner Ups. Big time hire for us- looking forward to seeing my kids experience the growth and watch it help in all of their sports.

Just the fact you don’t think any of us know about Heritage Hills, their long and storied history, or their former legendary HC Bob Clayton, nor do you seem to know about the NFL players that said program has produced, is what I’m really questioning.

FC just picked up one of the best strength coaches around. Used to make monsters at East and since he left they’ve really fallen behind. He was just at a small 3A school called Heritage Hills, was there working with those kids and after a couple years got their football dudes turned around and got them to state. Their record boards were off the charts for a 3A team. I met him at parent teacher conferences.. he knows what’s up.  I have a great feeling about what’s happening behind the scenes now with FC Athletics. Hope the buy in comes back and we continue to grow. Football dudes already looking better in the short time he’s been working with them.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, you believe there was a little 3A school called Heritage Hills and this strength coach pumped them into a state caliber team….and all of this happened in the last few years? Is that about the gist of it?

Why do I get the idea that if Indy opted to replace the turf at LOS with grass, you would post bitching about the cost and ridiculously expensive maintenance?

How is gate revenue handled in sectional games? Do they split it or does host school get it all?

All of this info is in the fall bulletin. Sectional after all expenses are paid, schools divide evenly among themselves. Regional and beyond all bills are paid and the IHSAA gets the rest.
Keep in mind, there are some expenses involved. We’ve work several tournament games with checks exceeding $100. That’s $500 just for officials. Don’t forget the ticket people, chain crew, press box personnel, police/security…….. Home team gets concessions

I have no idea what the media deal is. Assuming IHSAA keeps all that
