  1. Developers and investors needed to submit offers to the owners of Arlington International Racecourse by this week. Currently, there are fewer than 10 prospective buyers who have serious proposals on the table when it comes to sealing the deal. Churchhill Downs Inc., which owns Arlington Park, announced plans to sell the property in February. “On behalf of Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI), real estate firm CBRE has received strong proposals from numerous parties interested in redeveloping the 326-acre Arlington International Racecourse site. All proposals will be evaluated confidentially. CDI will provide an update on the sale process at the appropriate time in the coming weeks,” President Tony Petrillo said. However, this, according to the village mayor is a soft deadline. The racetrack has been around for almost 100 years, with horseracing being a huge part of its history. The Bears have been at Soldier Field since 1971 after playing at Wrigley Field from 1921-1970. The Chicago Park District owns Soldier Field and the Bears’ lease with the stadium is up after the 2033 season. In 2002, the Bears played at Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois as Soldier Field was being renovated. The controversial reconstruction left the Bears with the smallest stadium in the NFL — with a capacity of 61,500. Mayor Lightfoot released a statement slamming the franchise, saying “and like most Bears fans, we want the organization to focus on putting a winning team on the field, beating the Packers finally and being relevant past October.” Does anyone give a s*** what she has to say?
  2. I do recall someone on here saying it would help get high school players more college football playing opportunities if high schools ran offenses that the state college football teams run. As a former HS coach, I say you run what best fits your players strengths. I agree with you. If you are good enough, colleges find you. And…..who exactly is this Coach Askew? Never heard of him.
  3. That's because they are collar blind. ---Michael Scott I will show myself out. Carry on.
  4. Thank you. Could you give a brief description of Grand Park? Is it usually held at the Colts facility? If so, then I would guess the NFL said no go.
  5. I use this quote so much and today's utes just don't understand. 😞
  6. Crown Point, Valpo, Chesterton, St. John/Schererville would like to have a conversation with you. I live in Wheatfield. I would guess that there is as much money here (DeMotte and Wheatfield) per person, as those mentioned above.
  7. We are heading to the The Sunshine State Saturday. Just wanted to make sure we landed in Florida and NOT California. 🙂
  8. And little ole Pioneer High School just won their 3rd state title in lady's sports for 2020-21 (volleyball, basketball, softball). Way to go Pioneer. Sorry, just had to congratulate this awesome accomplishment to the ladies of Pioneer HS. Carry on.
  9. What do you consider, "no longer"? Are you ONLY talking about "producing" top 250 players? If so, I wonder how many schools nationwide are "producing" top 250 players year in and year out. My guess would be, *maybe* 5 in the entire country. I am talking schools, NOT IMG types.
  10. Isn't Florida the "Sunshine State"? They have 33.
  11. South Newton, always working hard. Keep it up fellas.
  12. If true, I would guess it has something to do w/ the NFL's virus policy. And I agree w/ you. It is crazy and not good for large schools.
  13. Congratulations to all participating. Have fun and enjoy every minute.
  14. BTW......they had me at wiffle ball field. If you have ever played it, you know.
  15. In your opinion, would this widen the gap between the "haves" (huge alumni base/money pool/etc.) and the "have nots"? I think so.
  16. Ding-Ding-DING!
  17. Gonna be interesting. Think these “elite” FB schools have the bells and whistles now…..watch what they do to separate themselves from the others to widen the gap.
  18. I for one, do not see them adding football anytime in the near future, if ever.
  19. You very well could be correct. IC has joined the GSSC, correct?
  20. As we all know, choices have consequences.
  21. Yep. Sadly, always has and always will.
  22. I have been in public education for nearly 20 years. I would think, and I could be way off here, it would be difficult for a school who left a conference on their own, to be voted back in.
  23. I was just tossing them out there, so every year, they play in California like normal years. Huge recruiting/football hotbeds: Texas (why I mentioned them and OU), Florida (will play in the Southeast in the ACC), New Jersey (will play in the Northeast in the ACC) and California (see Stanford/USC above). When they don't play O$U, they can add Michigan or whomever. If they are looking for a "fluff" type game, they can schedule a 2nd tier B1G team too (Shamrock Series flexibility should this series continue).
