  1. There’s a reason they don’t play Super Bowls in Green Bay, Wisconsin. When the best two teams (and highest ranked contest in state history) are head to head you want elements to be the least of concern. Some things are uncontrollable…this wasn’t.
  2. I’ve already spoken about the stacked deck. Many CG folks were up in arms prior to kickoff (all week really) and leading up to the game last night. Just because those on here are not crying foul doesn’t mean this board represents the masses. I GUARANTEE this board and other social media sites would be up in arms this morning had that score been flipped. Both teams have speed but CG has more. Also more talent and depth. Terrible field conditions neutralize that advantage. Doesn’t take a genius to figure that out. To your last point, this game has been circled on every football fan’s calendar since LAST October. Plenty of time to consider an alternate venue…and the rain forecast should have green lighted the decision to do so.
  3. Many CG fans had their pitchforks ready in the first half last night and were fully prepared to raise hell had that final score turned out differently. Cathedral fans aren’t complaining much this morning because they can’t. They stacked the deck…and still lost.
  4. Maybe 4A is still more wide open that I originally thought? Heard East Central got a lot of breaks but if I’m Mooresville, Leo, Hobart, Jasper, Chatard, or Mt. Vernon, I woke up a bit more confident this morning.
  5. Don’t blame them for not moving it to CG but plenty other neutral sites were available. Indiana had an opportunity to showcase two of the nation’s best on a national scale last night and the mud is the main storyline the next day. That’s a failure. It’s 2021…that game looked like a game from the 70s being played on a slip and slide.
  6. 26-2 (only off on FC/Avon and FC/Zionsville) on the season. A .929 winning percentage.
  7. Thanks. It was fun. 22-6 (.785) on the season. (Didn’t count the CG/Cathedral game.)
  8. I’ll stand by my claim. Just because it was equally pitiful for both teams doesn’t mean it was the right decision to play this game at Arlington Middle School. I don’t care what Cathedral deems it’s home field. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out when the 10 day forecast showed the amount of rain Indy was going to receive that this was going to happen. Game could have easily been moved but I have a sneaky suspicion one team didn’t want it to be for obvious competitive reasons. I’m all for what some folks above consider “old school football” but that was pathetic last night.
  9. I give the Hoosiers a puncher’s chance. MSU still hasn’t proven they can beat anyone with a winning record…
  10. He must’ve missed the second half…likely because he was drafting a letter to the IHSAA about their subpar postseason tournament. In all seriousness though, back to walking through the 5A tournament for the Irish. Boring. They had their shot…and blew it once again. (I’d have been ashamed asking an opposing team to play under those conditions in 2021 for the record.)
  11. Man @Footballking16, I wasn’t even considering this when speaking of Cathedral’s advantages the other day. Its a damn shame a contest of this magnitude is being played in 3rd world facilities…especially in 2021.
  12. Are you questioning the legitimacy of the GREAT rivalry and high stakes contest that IS Pike vs Lawrence North?
  13. Gotcha and though I can see where you are coming from, it seems there are different rules for different folks, regardless of when the offense took place, by whom the offender was employed and how expendable said employee is. As I said in my original post, a slippery slope.
  14. Maybe I’d get on board if you were taking about history that involved either coach or member of the coaching staff being involved in said history. But I just can’t.
  15. I LOVE history. It transcends generations of the sport. I also understand that it has ZERO to do with the outcome of the upcoming games you are speaking of.
  16. I’m salivating for the victims of Sapp, Brown and Sherman’s takes on your last sentence. I bet they think the difference is obvious as well.
  17. Folks are having no problems nationwide taking statues and monuments down posthumously…so why not Sapp? Hard to see a difference here.
  18. Gotcha. So his employment by the NFL Network still made him an employee of the league, correct? Now do recent Bucs signees Richard Sherman and Antonio Brown… Such an obvious double standard by the Bucs front office. Sorry you can’t see it. Get caught up in a scandal AFTER you’ve left our organization? We will take a stand. Be involved in multiple scandals WHILE playing AND you can help us win? Sign the dotted line.
  19. No. Just saying that things are often said publicly for effect but deep down are not true. That, combined with the weather forecast, playing surface gives me pause. Could totally see folks waking up Saturday morning disappointed because the weather, facility, conservative play calling did not reveal the superiority of one team over the other. Hope I am wrong.
  20. Gruden’s Bucs career has been over since 2008, your point?
  21. Not sure why but I have a feeling this contest is going to fall short of expectations and be underwhelming
