  1. Good luck in the SEC boys.
  2. Huge one forthcoming this week with HSE/Westfield. That’ll tell us a lot about the Royals. won’t pretend to know much about Noblesville or Sharpe specifically but it seems like building a lead and getting off to a fast start is a critical foundation for that offensive philosophy. If they get down they are not going to be able to catch up.
  3. BD had a great game plan last night in my opinion. They didn’t even try to run the ball. Got the ball out of their quarterbacks hands quickly and allowed players to make plays in space. Just couldn’t sustain enough drives to stay in contact in the second half. CG ran a three man front 80 percent of the night I’d say. If Carmel or Warren simulate that game plan they could make it interesting in a potential rematch. North Central, Pike, and LC are pretty damn bad. I honestly think I would take the bottom three in the HCC over the bottom three in the MIC right now.
  4. Can anyone make a legitimate Indiana comparison in terms of where South Warren stands related to Indiana teams? Unless I saw incorrectly, they are 5A in KY with an enrollment of around 1200-1300?
  5. 3-1 for the Temp in what was a telling week in the HCC. Brownsburg and Westfield did what they were supposed to do but HSE continues to roll in disposing of Fishers. They are now firmly in tier 1. A thud from Zionsville (kudos to the posters who gave FC more credit than I) but their status as a contender in 5A north remains unchanged. Noblesville has a couple of cute wins but couldn’t handle the bright lights against Westfield. FC is improving while Avon is a dumpster fire
  6. The temp moves to 9-0 picking MIC vs MIC contests (and was actually pretty damn close on 3 of the final scores). Only “surprise” I guess would be the relative ease with which LN disposed of NC…they could be creeping up on tier 2 and will get the next month to prove it. Side question: Does anyone have any insight on the Carmel QB situation? Seems for the second straight fall they are snake bitten at that position. I’m not sure they get by Brownsburg in the sectional this time without QB #1.
  7. Let Snider/Penn combine rosters tonight and let's have at it!! (I kid, I kid.)
  8. See if St. X will take a detour on their way to Mishawaka tonight. Snider will give them a much better game than Penn...
  9. "The curse of being such a good program, not many teams willing to play you on short notice." LOL @ this. I'm SURE this was the reasoning given my those programs they reached out to. I hope this is not another direct quote from Tippmann.
  10. This was my thinking as well. Sure, they will be able to let off the gas a couple of times per season but they also won't be able to simply "out talent" 75 percent of the teams on their schedule.
  11. Side topic: Texas and Oklahoma are gonna be in a world of hurt for a few years once they join the SEC…with a 16 team conference, you better hope Vandy is one of your annual crossovers/contests. I’ll rarely criticize a person/program for bettering their situation but I think their Swiss cheese defenses are going to take some lumps.
  12. I’m not sure I’d wish a bus trip from Fort Wayne to Terre Haute, Brazil or Seymour on my worst enemy.
  13. And to be honest, those cities you mentioned aren’t all that delusional with the well known practices that take place in the SEC. Saban and Bama just happen to be the bully on the block.
  14. I’ll reply with a similar sentiment from the Notre Dame thread. Nick Saban/Alabama make a lot of folks look bad. If their coach/program is where you set your bar, then you are going to be disappointed more often than not.
  15. Who are you thinking?
  16. I politely disagree. Call me stubborn but special teams snaps are less than 20 percent of the total snaps in most football contests. I want my best players playing the other 80 percent and then competency on my coverage teams and return men.
  17. Looking more and more like that great group he had a couple years back was the exception. I’ll say this: SEC coaches have been fired in similar circumstances.
  18. Is it dependent upon the opponent? Does special teams lose some of its importance in a contest where you are heavily favored or have built a big lead?
  19. Have em ranked behind Minnesota which I can’t see with Ibrahim done for the year. That should be a Hoosier W.
  20. Yeah, no doubt. Gonna try to avoid as many idioms as possible here but I'm not really sure there is a blueprint to beat CG at this point and I obviously give Cathedral the best chance. They are just too good on both sides of the ball and make so very few mistakes. BD has a high octane, quick strike offense which indicates they can score points, but the problem is they put their defense in a bad spot even if they were to score. CG can hurt you in so many ways. CG's offense can match anyone in the state and their defense has been basically impenetrable. Even if BD were not a quick strike type outfit, CG has proven that trying to grind out yards with your running game and chew clock, therefore limiting their possessions on offense does not work as teams have done virtually NOTHING on the ground against their defense. Your only hope is that CG has an off night when it comes to penalties and turnovers and thus far there is no indication that is likely, even though we are talking about 16-18 year old kids here. Carmel was close at halftime because CG shot themselves in the foot and it simply did not matter.
  21. Agreed. Was just referring to the MIC. CG’s MIC schedule was definitely front loaded. After Friday night, they may not need to play starters after halftime until the Cathedral contest.
  22. Depends on your definition of “sweat.” Based on Coach Moore’s comments, Carmel made them sweat for a half. Betting BD makes them sweat half a quarter and then it’s all down hill until they play Cathedral.
  23. If Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State are your bar, be prepared to be disappointed more often than not.
  24. FWIW, ESPN’s FPI updated this AM and has IU most likely at 5-7…if you believe in that sorta thing.
  25. Great question. To be determined.
