  1. But why has the school with 5200 not dominated everyone annually? There’s a pretty big enrollment drop off after 1-2.
  2. The DOE website will be your best source.
  3. Well, there is one program in Indy that also has 5 or 6. But to your point, it’d be players 7-30 who decided the game due to the sheer numbers advantage. I too, thought the same about Carmel. Until I turned on the regional game against BD and saw that they had a converted WR thrown in at QB. I think that is where the diminishing returns argument comes in. Maybe there really isn’t an advantage once you get above 2500 students? Swimming is considered an individual sport by the IHSAA and is a whole different ball game. The accumulation of points comes from scoring in multiple events...which you can have one swimmer who doubles or triples back. I have always been intrigued by the amount of junior varsity swimmers at Carmel that go on to swim at the next level. Same with cross country.
  4. It’s just intriguing to me. There is no debate what the strongest region is so that is a boring conversation. Thought this would spice things up.
  5. I hear ya. But as someone pointed out in another thread, enrollment eventually hits a plateau and has a point of diminishing returns. You can only put 11 out there at a time. (Example: CG (school of 2700) beat Carmel (school of 5200) by 42 points...) How many FW/SAC kids are we talking that currently have D1 offers off the top of your head?
  6. Fair points and I don’t necessarily think you are wrong but I’m just skeptical of the “mercy rule” that you are implying...that’s all.
  7. Common sense states they’d probably win...but mercy ruled? I’m skeptical.
  8. I’d hope they could compete. My question is would they win 6A?
  9. Gimme a Fort Wayne/SAC starting 22. I’m intrigued by this.
  10. Not gonna let ya derail this one my man. You obviously don’t work in education or coach at any level... (See above post.)
  11. I wouldn't say "highly preferred." Around 40 percent which makes them the lowest public district in Marion County BY FAR but the HIGHEST in the HCC with only Avon close.
  12. "Good job" yes. But the move to the HCC still a head scratcher to me unless they simply had nowhere else to go. They'll eclipse the 3000 student mark here soon and have the facilities to compete. You outlined some of the problems but I would also add that they are not "privileged" enough to compete with the HCC schools in the country club sports and have yet (though there is still time) to show they can compete with those same schools in the ball sports. Lowest SES percentage in Marion County and the fastest growing district in the county, so there IS hope.
  13. But if you consolidate into a school of 3k, where do you go in terms of conference affiliation? Would they become the bully of Conference Indiana at that point? (Though I will say/add that my theory surrounding SES > enrollment is supported by the Conference Indiana standings...)
  14. Just seems like a no-brainer to me...plus I think that Lafayette Jeff was sort of proven to be a paper tiger these last two seasons...they have problems of their own when it comes to scheduling. Jeff needs the DAC schools more than the alternative.
  15. Not to derail the original topic of the thread here but all of this transfer talk got me to thinking... How much damage could a SAC/FW all-star team do at the 6A level? Its the offseason, so I am just bored and spitballing. A shoe in for the state title?
  16. Excuse me for being naive and not very knowledgeable about The Region but have suburban Chicago area schools not a viable option for DAC schools to play in the non-conference in the past? Seems closer than Lafayette in some cases.
  17. But his point that Warren and BD have fewer "Jimmy's and Joe's" than in years past when looking up and down the roster is accurate.
  18. Certainly he is just a misunderstood youth who had a "bad day." Not the best form though...didn't wrap up.
  19. That's one hell of a haul to Merrillville, Crown Point, and St. John.
  20. Never taken anything serious from MaxPreps, save for stats when used correctly. It's all about "star" rankings in my opinion. An elementary kid could go to one of the major recruiting sites and select this team in 15 minutes.
  21. "No basing it off him being the best SENIOR skill position player on the best team." Fixed it for you and think this should be considered. Steele's QB has SIX offers from power 5 programs...
