  1. Eh, Texas vs. Ohio State is a big game this year and there are several other marquee matchups to go with it that are non-conference games. Indiana has adapted the SEC theory of a soft non-conference schedule for the next few years, Penn State, Michigan, Oregon play nobody as well. The bigger the playoff field, the more marquee non-conference games we will see
  2. Not for power 4 teams playing each, but for Notre Dame being able to schedule upper tier power 4 teams. ND will always be able to schedule lower tier teams like Purdue, Michigan State, Boston College, etc… but why would upper tier teams schedule an independent? Proof will be in the pudding.
  3. Conference championship games have always been a bad idea, they were only done for the almighty dollar. I believe 16 teams is the right amount, but I can live with 24 teams as that would be the trade off dollar wise to get rid of the conference championship games. No way they get rid of those title games without replacing the revenue
  4. Warsaw or even possibly North Side, who despite the lack of discipline around their program, has accomplished much more than Northrop ever has. Put it this way, Northrop is on the level of South Side as far as wins and losses over the years. Every other SAC team has had state titles or st least deep runs into the postseason.
  5. What tradition does Northrop football have? Zero. They have been a laughingstock of the SAC for 50 years. Hell, they have been better known as Snider’s home field at Spuller Stadium than for anything they have ever done at their OWN stadium.
  6. Northrop sucks. 23, you are basing this off one year. They need to put together 5 years of good play to even be mentioned
  7. More state titles after they joined, but having watched Snider for 50 years, better teams before they joined in my opinion
  8. And beating Concordia 56-0 is going to make them better?
  9. It works for the 2A-4A teams for the SAC, but those conferences do nothing for the 5A and 6A teams.
  10. Carroll and Concordia are both smart, nothing is gained from them playing. You can say that for almost half of the games in the SAC, if not more. Frankly, if playing less SAC games is not an option, let Snider, Dwenger, Carroll, and Homestead play each other home and away and then schedule 3 out of conference games. Much more competitive that way…
  11. 23, I have been saying for years this needs to happen, both for the big schools and small schools. Way too many Friday nights we are seeing running clocks in the SAC with nothing gained by it. 5A and 6A schools need to play those same type of schools, period. Same goes for 2A-4A schools in the SAC. You aren’t going to see South Side, Concordia, or Wayne beat Carroll, Snider, Dwenger, Homestead. More likely, you will see running clocks in the 3rd quarter. Does nothing to prepare teams for the playoffs. Let the big boys go play the Indy teams, Penn, and Crown Point.
  12. Doubtful. He is guaranteed to be in the top 3 paid coaches as it is
  13. Just saw another article that says he is the highest paid coach…
  14. Another reason why I like Indiana’s chances to be a player for years to come. No player will ever become bigger than the team with Cignetti.
  15. Embarrassing by the so called “experts”
  16. He is lurking around…
  17. Not surprising really. He does Thursday night football, college game day Saturday morning, and game that afternoon/night.
  18. I got Seattle 24-14. Just think NE is going to have trouble moving the ball against Seattle
  19. I always enjoyed the Lou Holtz press conference before every game where he would build the opponent up to behemoth standards even when they were winless. Always brought a smile to my face
  20. Indiana alum have money… People thought I was blowing smoke when I said the Hoosiers would have more fans than Miami in their own stadium, but I was right. With Cignetti, IU is here for awhile
  21. I was thinking about how well Indiana travelled during the CFP. Probably had 80% of the fans vs. Alabama, 90% of the fans vs.Oregon, and 70% of the fans vs. Miami in their stadium. Damn impressive
  22. I didn’t say Miami would win, but it is no gimmee like about 9-10 other games on the schedule
  23. Playing Miami is no gimmee and at BYU will be no easy task
  24. I wouldn’t go that far. No mid-major is winning the natty. Look at the group of 5 teams in the CFP for further evidence based on CFP results. Only reason Alabama got in is the ESPN/SEC connection and that ESPN owns the CFP
