  1. Yes, the passing attack was dink and dunk and pretty effective at moving the chains from what I saw on film.
  2. My point is if a coach like Fitzgerald comes in and wins 7 games in a single year, he will be gone. No continuity at all. Hell, if someone wins 7 in a year at IU they ought to be annoited as a King
  3. Appreciate it. I call it like I see it, whether it is favorable or not. As BTF noted in another thread, we both were hard on Luers based on what we saw at the beginning of the year, but they came around when playing 2A teams, like they always do. I had my doubts about Luers, but when I looked at 2A before sectionals started, I couldn’t pick anyone to beat them. They cruised to a state title and they deserved it
  4. Agree with you on this. Here is how I see next week going down: 1. Michigan - will crush Iowa 2. Washington/Oregon winner 3. Georgia - will lose to Alabama 4. Ohio State Florida State will lose next week n their title game, just not sold on their new QB. Texas, Alabama, and Ohio State are in the mix for #4 spot, gut feeling says Ohio State will get it
  5. Short term fix doesn’t help
  6. I was not impressed by DC at all, offensively or defensively. Merrillville had a really good defense, but not much on offense. 5A is wide open next year. Mishawaka, Valpo, and Merrillville will be good in the North, not sure in the South, maybe Bloomington South, Bloomington North, and Whiteland
  7. 1. Ben Davis 2. Snider 3. East Central 4. Chatard 5. Luers 6. Lutheran
  8. Would be happy with Fitzgerald, but if he wins 7-8 games in a year, he will be gone
  9. That’s on you. I can’t unsee EC being 2nd in your poll and I’m not alone. Other than Crown Point and Chatard, the other 8 teams are all capable of beating up each on any given day
  10. Maybe, I think they all equally stink…
  11. Here is my top 10: 1. Ben Davis, played the toughest schedule and swept them all 2. Snider, arguably the best defense in the state 3. Brownsburg, I believe this is the best team in the state, but you can’t blow an 18 point lead in the 4th quarter 4. Center Grove, just a machine, year after year 5. East Central, a very good team, but outside a 4 loss Moeller team, who did they play? 6. HSE, another really good team, enjoy watching them play 7. Westfield, very solid team, potential, budding powerhouse 8. Chatard, a very good team, but like EC, who did they play? 9. Cathedral - always has a good team, they just seemed a player or two away from a 6A title this year 10. Crown Point, surprise team this year and earned their trip to LOS. Next step is to build on this Lastly, thanks go out to Temptation for doing his polls. It is not an easy task and critiquing will always come, but it always stirs discussion and debates about high school football, which we all love
  12. Let’s face it, IU might very well be the worst power 5 job out there. Even if they get an up and coming young coach, the first year they win 7 games, they will bolt for the first job offered. Honestly, unless someone unlocks the vault and gives access to mega millions of dollars, IU should be an intramural team
  13. Rightfully so that we were hard on Luers. They got slaughtered by East Noble and New Haven in back to back weeks. They showed zero compete level at that time. Then they got some confidence playing the bottom feeders in the SAC, and those teams were absolutely awful, didn’t have to play Snider or Carroll, who would have obliterated them, played tough against 6A Homestead, and then ran thru a down 2A. Luers played very well in the tourney and are to be congratulated. They showed a high compete level and did what most of us expect them to do every year, be a front runner for a state title
  14. That is the million dollar question. I seriously have a hard time thinking that any power 5 head coach would leave their current position to come to IU. That leaves assistant coaches at power 5 schools as the next option or a D2/D3 head coach. The question that needs to be asked is the IU administration serious about competing in football at the D1 level? The answer forever is no. To compete at this level, you must put mega millions into your program and that part has been an utter failure. You must have tons of money for NIL, which they seemingly don’t.
  15. That is as of today, things will change next week after the games…
  16. 1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3. Washington 4. Ohio State
  17. Tom Allen has been fired this morning according to ESPN.com. Hie will be paid his full buyout, which is approximately 20.8 million dollars, which is one of the largest in college football history. I never want to see anyone lose a job in today’s world, but 20.8 million is plenty to live on. Incompetence ruled Allen’s last couple years.
  18. Not sure, but I would have to think Logan is somewhere on the offensive side of the ball. That guy is dynamic
  19. BD 10 - CP 0, late first half, bad missed call by the official on the TD catch, player easily got 3 feet in bounds, cost BD a TD
  20. East Central is a very good team, but certainly not the best team in Indiana. Let the haters loose now…
  21. Not really. Luers is in the SAC and they are the lowest class team in the conference. They take their lumps, but when the playoffs start, they will see nothing that they haven’t already seen at a higher level
  22. Well said. What most people don’t seem to understand is Luers plays up all year until the tourney. They play 3-4 6A teams, 2-3 5A teams, and the rest are 3 or 4A teams. They were beaten badly by East Noble and New Haven early in the year, both 4A teams, and lost by 3 points to 6A Homestead, who gave Snider their only loss.
  23. I don’t believe Lutheran and Adams Central would walk thru 2A this year. I think both would be tough to beat though. Neither of those teams, in my opinion, would beat Luers
