  1. I don’t think so, we have had some kickers who have made 50 yard field goals. I believe there was a kicker with the last name of Lee who did it. Certainly, it was the most clutch field goal kick in Panther history
  2. Carroll will be good this year, no doubt. I agree, don’t think anyone in the SAC is going undefeated this year
  3. North Side and Anderson scored on backups long after the game was decided. Mishawaka scored 18 points of which 2 were on long plays. Merrillville was dominated by the Snider defense and Decatur Central did nothing vs. that defense. I said it when the playoffs started, Mishawaka was going to be Snider’s toughest game and it was. That offense when you see it once every few years is tough to deal with
  4. Minus the leading tackler in Snider history… Look, I think the Panther defense will be really good if the defensive line plays well, but you don’t replace a Rohrbacher with just anyone. I think Carroll will be improved in 2024 and will put up points. My big question for Snider is offense. Don’t see how it will be better this year. If that is the case, the defense will have to be even better than last year
  5. Don’t think the defense will be as strong next year, but they will be good.
  6. I agree with you. DeBoer will not succeed at Alabama and he will be run out of town in 2-3 years and wish he had stayed at Washington.
  7. Conferences as currently constituted need to go away. It is beyond ridiculous how the Big 10, which was a Midwest conference, now goes from one end of the United States, Rutgers, to the other end, UCLA and USC. When I say conferences go away, I mean just for football. Football needs to be operated separate from other sports. As far as relegation works, take the top 25 teams in the country and put them in the top league, take the next 25 teams and they are in a league, and so on. Bottom 5 move down a tier, top 5 in each tier move up. For example, let’s say there are 5 tiers and Indiana is in tier 3, if they finish in the top 5 of tier 3 they would move up to tier 2 next year. If they finish bottom 5 they would move down to tier 4. As far as bowl games go, 25 teams are in your tier and you can only play 11 of them in a season just matchup the top 8 teams, 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, 5 vs. 6, and 7 vs. 8, and that is their bowl game. Honestly, the bowl games are now about who has the least amount of attrition with players opting out. NIL has destroyed college football, period. Anyone that doesn’t see it is ignorant to the reality. The transfer portal is a close second in the destruction of college football
  8. I believe Fields is a legitimate starting QB in the NFL and the Bears would be fools to trade him. Build around him, get him an offensive line, give him some weapons at WR and RB and you got yourself a playoff team. QB Williams is a head case. Major ego for sure. Allegedly wants part ownership of the team drafting him.
  9. Good topic. Here are some thoughts: 1. I believe we are headed to a similar format as England soccer, which uses relegation to move teams up and down. The haves and have nots with NIL money playing a huge factor will only make the separation worse 2. I believe 20-30 teams are now relevant at the highest level, most of which are either in the Big 10 or SEC. Who wants to see Indiana vs Ohio State, Vanderbilt vs. Georgia, etc… 3. I am of the belief now that the bowl games need to go away other than the 12 teams that qualify to play for a national title. So many players are opting out of playing in a meaningless bowl game, prime example is the Georgia 63-3 shellacking of Florida State. There were other bowl games that were affected as well 4. I believe the current system will fall apart within 5 years and who knows what will occur going forward. NIL payments are the final coffin in our current system
  10. Washington 37 - Texas 31 final - Another crazy game that I felt Washington controlled throughout yet Texas had chances in the end zone in the final seconds to win it. I thought all along that Texas would not be able to stop Washington’s passing attack, too much speed, and that the Huskies would get just enough stops to win the game.
  11. Michigan 27 - Alabama 20 final - Heckuva a game. Don’t like either team, but this could have went either way. Big 10 needed this for sure
  12. Worth the price of admission!!!!
  13. Michigan 31 - Alabama 21 Washington 27 - Texas 21 Washington 28 - Michigan 24
  14. No inside info on this, but I would be shocked if he doesn’t get a look from a MAC school
  15. Buchanan is a D1 level running back, just needs an opportunity. Maybe a MAC school
  16. Could be 2 games depending on who plays who in sectionals
  17. I agree, but with the crap show that is going on at North Side, it would be nice to beat their tails yearly…
  18. Kind of a more severe measure as to what I thought Snider was going thru until this past year when they cut playing 9 SAC games to 7 SAC games and allowing teams to schedule 2 out of conference games. My pipe dream would be that Snider just played Carroll, Homestead, Dwenger, Luers, and North Side in the SAC and play 4 out of conference games against similar skilled opponents.
  19. Listen, FSU’s schedule and conference sucked. Period. There is no argument to be had about that. Compare that to the grind Washington had or Alabama or Georgia. FSU wouldn’t have sniffed 13-0 and you know it. 3-4 losses at a minimum
  20. Sorry, winning at the Swamp does not mean what it meant 10-15 years. That program is barely a shell of what it use to be
  21. Florida State did everything they were suppose to do and got screwed. Absolutely true. I feel bad for them. Do I think they are one of the best 4 teams in the country? No.
  22. What would you call North Alabama? Southern Mississippi? Throw in about 6 brutal ACC teams and it’s a wrap. Damn, I don’t like Alabama or Texas, but crap, they both would hammer FSU. The quality of FSU conference is flat out bad. One of the reasons Notre Dame gets called out for their scheduling they play 5 ACC teams a year. Worst power 5 conference out there and it’s not even close Well said
  23. Yes I stated that either in this thread or another thread. Difference is the ACC conference stinks while the SEC does offer some pretty good opponents. Bama also played Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, and LSU
  24. Sure they can, quit scheduling Patsy Central. FSU certainly scheduled some weaklings and their conference flat out stinks
  25. You are right, money talks and ESPN is in bed with the SEC so…. FSU had a nice season with a piss poor schedule, that is fact. Here is the problem: what is the criteria? It changes to fit the committee’s purpose, that much is obvious
