  1. Well, it was a very lonely limb so I will ride the coattails of that as long as I can, lol. CG is the benchmark as far as I am concerned in 6A. I think they have lost some very key players in key positions so Carroll playing them early in the year is advantageous for Carroll as well as Carroll getting to play them at home in a hostile environment. Also, Carroll’s QB is a D1 guy and 3 year starter. Not naming a score yet, but I would not be shocked if Carroll won by double digits. How is that for being bold?
  2. I would take Carroll +10.5 in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, I believe Carroll will win that game straight up. Just like I stood out on a limb last year calling for Snider to win at Warren Central, I will stand out on a limb calling for a Carroll win over Center Grove
  3. Both were in either 4A or 5A, but East Central and Snider certainly would have had a shot
  4. Didn’t he have Warren Central stomping Snider last year? Valid question
  5. Wow, this escalated quickly. Just like the good ole days of the GID
  6. Love this!!! I will give you an example of a country club sport in Fort Wayne. Homestead is probably the wealthiest school in Fort Wayne and guess what sport they dominate and have done so for at least 45 years in this area? Tennis. Very rich sport. Kids start getting private lessons at 4 years old and by the time they hit high school, they have a 8-10 year head start on the other schools. No shot to beat them. On to football. Numbers matter, period. It’s why a 1A school can’t compete with a 6A school. Bigger, stronger, faster, and more kids to choose from. Oh yeah, let’s not forget all of the “transfers” that occur when someone is in a certain district, but wants to go to a powerhouse school. There are so many examples to choose from in Fort Wayne of this, bet you that it is double that in Indy.
  7. Ok, I will bite in this topic for this year. Facts are facts for previous years. Warren Central is now a favorite for 6A this year? Based on what? Transfers? What happens when they come to Fort Wayne and play Snider early in the year and lose again? Not saying they will, but nobody other than me had Snider winning at Warren Central last year. Turned out to be a laugher. If that happens, does that make Snider a contender in 6A? Having said that, we are about 2 months away from another season and I am ready to see it happen!!!
  8. As you know, Rod Woodson was willing to help fund a stadium for Snider many years ago and FWCS shut it down saying they wouldn’t let him in one of the most asinine decisions ever. But hey, let’s build South Side a stadium in another idiotic decision while the cow cash of Fort Wayne public high schools is forced to continue to play their games at Northrop
  9. I have also seen games vs. South have about 10 fans on their side. Point being, how in the Hell did they get a stadium before Snider??
  10. I really think that space limits the seating for Snider. 6,000 would be ideal when Snider plays good teams, when they play a team like South Side, 1 lawn chair would be enough for South Side’s fans. This would be a great thing for Snider football and their fans to have a real home. It would also stop the embarrassment of FWCS insistence over the years of, by far, the top drawing public school in Fort Wayne not having its own field while programs like Northrop, Wayne, and South Side that can’t draw 500 fans get their own stadium. The utter, complete incompetence of the FWCS administration to draw this out for so long is shameful
  11. It was just announced at the Snider board meeting that Snider will be building a 4,000 seat football stadium at the school. This will include the relocation of the tennis courts to Lane Middle School, relocation of all current bleachers to North Side High School. If I knew how to copy and paste I would. I am sure someone on here will be able to do it
  12. Snider’s success is built around one key thing: coaching. In the last 40+ years, they have had 3 head coaches, Mike Hawley, Russ Isaacs, and Kurt Tippmann. All have lent stability to the program. When looking at Wayne, Northrop, South Side, and North Side, that coaching tree is a broken stick in comparison. No stability, bad coaching for the most part, and undisciplined play. There has been talent at those schools, but not leadership at those schools. Some of the private schools, Dwenger and Luers, have had great coaching as well, hence their success
  13. IHSAA is whatever they see fit to suit THEIR purpose, never forget that
  14. Damn, I knew I had too many beers today….🍺🍺🍺
  15. Everything in the North in 2A starts with Luers. Until someone beats Luers in 2A, they are the team to beat
  16. Here are some thoughts: 1. I have witnessed too many kids to even count that have transferred from one school to another without having to sit out a year. I have seen everything from this school doesn’t have the specialty class I like, to kids supposedly being bullied with zero evidence of any bullying, to parents literally moving across the street to be in another school district, to parents renting an apartment in a school district just to say they lived there when they didn’t. 2. When does the school have the students best interests in mind when deciding to try and fight a transfer? I have seen where some kids are allowed to transfer without penalty and some where the school fought tooth and nail to try and make the kid sit out. It seems when the parents have money and threaten lawsuits and court, the school caves in 3. Finally, why is it that schools fight over a supposed athletic transfer but not over an academic transfer? At the the end of the day, kids need to put themselves in the best possible light to further themselves to go to college for as cheaply as possible, whether it’s thru sports, academics, or financial aid Since I graduated in the 80’s, the landscape is night and day different now. I was a hardliner on this topic until a few years ago and have softened my stance on kids transferring schools. I still get mad when kids take major advantage of the system and lie about why they want to transfer. I don’t know, need some more beers in me to clear my head….🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
  17. Damnit Rodney, you are going to upset all the Karens on this site!!! Also, you forgot the biggest rule of all, always bet against Merrillville when they have at least 45 D1 players!!!
  18. I get it, but when you go to Snider High School, it does not say Fort Wayne Snider at the entrance.
  19. They need to drink more beer, that will solve their differences…🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
  20. To be fair, It is not Fort Wayne Wayne, it is just Wayne. Example, it is not Fort Wayne Snider or Fort Wayne Luers or Fort Wayne Dwenger either
  21. Depends how many beers you have had…🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
  22. Agree 100%. East Noble and Warsaw do nothing for Snider in terms of preparation for a state title run. In my opinion, beating Warren the way they did last year was the impetus to a state title.
  23. Ok, maybe Decatur Central is the best in the South next year, but I have to be honest and say I was not impressed with them when they played Snider, especially offensively. Defensively, they were good, but 3 plays into the Snider game, I knew they weren’t scoring an offensive touchdown. Valpo, Mishawaka, Warsaw, and Merrillville will be all good out of the North
