  1. I agree. How much does Snider sell out to stop the run because if they sell out, they will be susceptible to the deep pass. As with 95% of football games, they are won in the trenches. I think Snider has a decided advantage in that area, but that is why they play the games. Consistency as always been a challenge for Snider because as good as they looked against Warren Central, past history has shown them to also come out flat against teams
  2. Since this is a 2023 Snider thread, let’s talk some Panther football!!! Now, I will say I was very impressed with Billingsley at QB.That dude was shifty and had some great spin moves in the run. Running attack was flat out great and the game was won in the trenches. Been a long time since a Snider slobber knockered a good team. Defense was really good as well. Time to go to Kendalltucky, er Kendallville, and play another good team
  3. Sir, I did, go into the pick ‘em threads and you will clearly see I had Snider winning
  4. This was a pretty dominating effort by Snider. Warren is a 6A #4 ranked team in the state and the Panthers took them to the woodshed. What will be interesting is when Warren plays at Carroll next week. Do they rebound as Carroll lost to HSE so they will be hungry for a win as well.
  5. Doubtful, going to be a long year on Clinton and Washington Center
  6. Agree with all this. Look, I like to throw the ball around a bit, but when you are up 21 points late in the 3rd quarter against an Indy powerhouse and completely controlling the game, what are you doing??!! Yes!!!
  7. Getting greedy, not needed. Gifted WC 13 points, ugh
  8. I am not good at copy and pasting, I think I got lucky as it was suppose to be a pay option and it let me in for free
  9. Good stuff so far for the Panthers!!!
  10. This was expected. Going to be a long year…
  11. Old fashioned Panther football is back, run, run, and when in doubt, run some more. Whatever works Old fashioned Panther football is back, run, run, and when in doubt, run some more. Whatever works
  12. Sorry man, I do not know how to post a link. Don’t try and explain it as I just don’t get how to do it
  13. Snider vs Warren Central is available thru you tube for free, just found it
  14. Carroll over HSE Lawrence North over Avon Michigan City over Warsaw Westfield over New Palestine Chesterton over Hobart Kokomo over Leo Evansville Memorial over Jasper Tri West over Western Scecina over Concordia Tell City over Perry Central Tecumseh over South Spencer
  15. Brownsburg 49 - Dwenger 7 - Tough opening 5 game stretch for the Saints Carmel 35 - Homestead 21 - Closer than expected Carroll 28 - HSE 27 - Chargers out to prove last year was not a fluke Scecina 49 - Concordia 0 - Cadets outclassed in this one East Noble 35 - Luers 14 - Luers very young and it shows in game 1 New Haven 35 - Northrop 14 - Bulldogs look to have a dynamic season Snider 28 - Warren Central 27 - Game of the week South Side 20 - Marion 12 - Archers get a much needed win Wayne 49 - Attucks 6 - Generals roll North Side 21 - Northridge 14 - Tight game
  16. Great post!!! Yes, coaching at the high school level is not done to make money. They are paid basically nothing, with the exception of a few coaches. 1A football is great, any fool who wants to bash 1A football isn’t a true football fan
  17. Agree with most of what you say, not this. Football was meant to be played outside in the elements on grass fields. Now, over time, we have pretty much done away with grass fields due to having crappy fields later in the season and having those fields being used for multiple sports. State title games, fine, go play indoors at Lucas Oil, not before that
  18. Excellent post!!! I still disagree that playing better competition is better than playing South Side, Concordia, etc… As far as players getting reps, that is what JV is for. Carroll and Snider will still get easy games even with playing 2 out of conference games as they both have easy games in the SAC this year. If Snider plays East Noble and Warsaw, I don’t understand that. They can play similar teams in the SAC. Go play Penn, HSE, Carmel, Columbus East, etc…
  19. It definitely will pay dividends down the road. What are Carroll and Snider getting from playing South Side, Northrop, Concordia, and Wayne every year? Not a damn thing!!! If nothing else, it gives them a measuring stick as to where they need to be come playoff time. They certainly get nothing by beating teams 63-0. Just as important, those lower tier teams can go and play games against competition they have a better chance against
  20. Carroll has to be the favorite with Snider and North Side right there. Homestead is probably next well behind and then I think Wayne is next. Dwenger is going to struggle this year, especially with those first 4 games and that doesn’t even include Snider later in the season.
  21. Garrett’s football coach also is their Athletic Director, DePew
  22. You had me until you mentioned Notre Dame, the most over ranked and over hyped team year in and year out. Top 5-10 recruiting class every year and is a non-factor in the national title picture… Carry on
  23. I would think that 35-14 would be about right. If it is any closer than that or if Snider loses, any hope for postseason hardware, starting with a sectional title, is a pipe dream
  24. Snider vs North Side will be a war in the sectionals. To add intrigue, they don’t play in the regular season due to playing 2 out of conference games
