North Side makes a change

He was totally drawn away to receive a good Catholic education. Definitely not because he didn't want to have to share the basketball with 3 other D1 guys. -
North Side makes a change
IPFWFootball replied to Justasportsfan's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I think this point of accountability holds true in this era of transferring. It's just too easy to do now with open enrollment/vouchers/etc. It just seem to have gotten even bigger on the Public->Public and Private->Public transfer side. The big issue in my opinion are the adults in the situation. Coaches do what they have to do to try and build their programs whether I agree with that or not, its what they need to do to compete. Its the outside voices/trainers/advisors who get in the mix that I don't like. -
Andrean at Luers...Tough opening games for Luers, good for them to get battle tested early. Will find some wins later in the year for sure...Andrean by 3 Carroll at Center Grove...Chargers sent a big message in Week 1...another big game this week should get them in the conversation of 6A favorites...Chargers by 7 Decatur Central at Wayne...DC has been a solid program as of late, hoping Wayne can keep morale up during a brutal 4 week stretch to start the year...Decatur by 28 East Noble at Snider...East Noble took care of business at home last week, another win over an SAC team would be huge. Snider blew the game last week, if they can't win the debut at the "Ike", they could be in danger of another below .500 season...Snider by 1 Concordia at Eastbrook...Cadets had a great win last week, don't know much about Eastbrook so staying local here...Cadets by 2 Dwenger at St. Francis De Sales (Ohio)...I have a lot of the same questions/feelings about this Saints team after week 1 as I did last year. Defense looks the part, offense has a lot they need to figure out, really concerned on the Special Teams this year though. That being said I think they go on the road and get it done...BD by 10 North Side at New Haven...as if the on the field let down wasn't enough they needed to overcome, the off field fiasco in the halls of North Side could derail the week. But it could also force the team/remaining staff to lock in and focus on things within their control, this is a good matchup for that as the talent gap should be overwhelming no matter who starts at QB...North by 21 Northrop at Warsaw...with no chance to see how the Bruins looked in week 1, going in blind. Think Bart ball prevails...Warsaw by 14 South Side at St. Joseph...great program win for the Archers...but SBSJ is a different animal, especially on the road...St.Joe by 30 Noblesville at Homestead...hopefully this game gives us a better look at what Homestead could be this year, but better matchup than having to face the #2 team in the state...Homestead by 3

North Side makes a change
IPFWFootball replied to Justasportsfan's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Yes, I have heard lots of things over the last 15/16 hours from people I would deem very reliable sources on what's going on, but again until things are officially reported on, this forum isn't the place to put those out. But again I'm more interested in how FWCS will be handling this from not only a PR standpoint, but also the puzzling timeline. -
North Side makes a change
IPFWFootball replied to Justasportsfan's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I am very curious to see if FWCS ever comes out and says the true reason behind this, and why the timing of it (Doubtful). All in all, bad look for the district, school, program. Feel bad for the students/teachers/and staff who will now have to deal with all the fallout -
Scores and Updates 🏈 Week 1 - 2026
IPFWFootball replied to gonzoron's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
While I think with Saunders they probably would have scored, your starting QB missing week 1 for non injury reasons also shows lack of control in the program. Nothing new. Carroll put 6A on notice with a big week 1 blowout. Dwengers defense, and Roncallis too for that matter, really looked the part. But Saints “new look” offense and play calling left a lot to be desired. Not having a dependable kicker this season may cost a couple games down the road. Good to see South and Concordia also pick up wins for those programs. -
Adams Central at Luers...should be a great game, AC's first time going against the SAC...AC by 7 North Side at East Noble...my alma mater has all the talent in the world on paper, but paper doesn't account for poor discipline and disorganized coaching, until they prove the have the latter figured out, I remain skeptical...East Noble by 14 Snider at Warsaw...everyone knows what Warsaw is going to do, can Snider punch back on the road? Warsaw by 10 Wayne at Leo...Leo may be a little down this year, still think they should handle Wayne easily...Leo by 21 Westside at Northrop..sucks to lose the Week 1 game, but of course there are more important things to take care of up in NWI. Hamilton SE at Carroll...Carroll has become the 6A standard north of Hamilton County, a win here could show they are a true threat for a State run...Carroll by 1 Roncalli at Dwenger...These teams playing 3 times in 12 months is fun, excited to see BDs new up tempo offense, but I think new special teams remains a big question on Saints ability to repeat this season...Dwenger by 2 Secina at Concordia...Cadets swan song in the SAC, don't think they are at Secina's level, but could keep it close for a while...Secina by 18 Marion at South Side...South is always a team poised to be a disrupter every year, a week one W could set the tone...South by 6 Westfield at Homestead...a buddy of mine who lives out SW and has a son just getting into football asked me about Homestead, the best way I could describe them is a program that has all the resources and infrastructure to be much better than they ever are, they aren't on the same level as Westfield...Westfield by 24

SAC Sectional Title games
IPFWFootball replied to Komets2727's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Mississineawa-Bishop Luers..while I think Ole Miss is good, Luers has played much tougher teams and have that home field advantage...Knights by 5 East Noble-Bishop Dwenger...Dwenger has been playing their best football defensively over the last few weeks. But if EN can get out to an early lead not sure if Dwenger has the firepower to catch up...East Noble by 7 Snider-Carroll...should be closer than the first matchup but unless the Panthers get a defensive TD I don't think they can put up enough points to win...Chargers by 10 -
SAC Sectional picks
IPFWFootball replied to jakone's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Snider at Elkhart...Think the Snider defense & special teams carry them through this game...Panthers by 10 Carroll at Northrop....Get up big in the first half, rest the starters from there....Carroll by 42 Hamilton SE at Homestead...same as above but not in favor of the hometown team...HSE by 38 Concord at North Side...North may hang for a bit, but Concord will run away in the 2nd half...Concord by 17 Dwenger at Wayne...BD playing their best football at the right time. Wayne has some playmakers but don't think they'll keep up...Saints by 21 Luers at Jay County...Luers/Mississinewa next week should be a lot of fun next week on the south side...Luers by 28 -
Carroll at North Side...North surprised me with a big win last week. But they are not on Carroll's level....Chargers by 21 Concordia at Dwenger...Saints need this game to try and get some momentum going into sectionals...Saints by 14 Snider at Wayne...Is there any more confusing team in the SAC than Wayne? They could make a little noise in sectional but can't spiral for two weeks going in. Snider needs to continue to find some offensive continuity themselves for the postseason...Panther by 17 South Side at Northrop...great to see South get a big win. Definitely one of the biggest wins for the program in the longest time. Northrop continues to falter...Archers by 6 Homestead at Luers....Luers lack of offense caught up to them. They'll need to focus up for a 3A run...Spartans by 10
-
Dwenger at Snider...Saints defense has been strong, but they'll get worn out in this game as I don't think the offense will be able to kill time and put up points against the Snider D...Panthers by 20 Luers at South...Both these teams lost their rivalry games last weekend with some head scratching scores. Think Luers has more talent to pull away in this one...Knights by 14 North at Wayne...Maybe the Legends saved up all their points for when they'd need them this week? Or maybe the offense is just that inconsistent. This could either be a blowout or a track meet. I think the Generals take it either way...Wayne by 6 Northrop at Carroll..I'm not sure if Northrop is statically the worst defense in the state, but they have to be in the conversation....Chargers by however much they want. Homestead at Concordia...while the Cadets have been feisty this year. Think the grind of the regular season is getting to them and Homestead will just overpower them...Spartans by 30
-
Carroll-Homestead...Carroll seems like they are finding their groove offensively, should continue this week with no problem...Chargers by 28 Luers-Dwenger...Could be a defensive slugfest as both offenses aren't super dynamic...think Luers gets it done though...Knights by 3 North Side-South Side...love the Totem Pole game, congrats to the Archers getting a good win last week, but think North overpowers them this week...Legends by 21 Wayne-Concordia...Cadets early season mojo is starting to slip away...Wayne should just out athlete them this week...Generals by 17 Snider-Northrop...I couldn't tell you the last time these teams ever played a close game, Snider will run at will and dominate defensively as well..Panthers by however much they want
-
Carroll at Wayne...think you could see an early let down spot from Carroll where this game is close for a bit, but they'll pull away late...Chargers by 21 Concordia at South Side...Cadets have been a nice surprise this year, should be able to pick up another W...Concordia by 14 North Side at Luers...Luers has the defense to slow down North. Also think they are more disciplined so that will be the deciding factor...Knights by 10 Northrop at Dwenger..Dwengers offense is still not great. Hopefully the defense can keep Northrop in check because I'm not sure if the Saints offense can put up enough points even against a bad Bruins D in a track meet...Dwenger by 7 Homestead at Snider...Panthers got a little SAC wake up call last week. Think this team can refocus and take care of Sparty with the defense leading the charge...Panthers by 6
-
Dwenger at Homestead...Saints offense is just bad, don't think they can score enough to keep up with Sparty...Homestead by 14 Luers at Concordia...Concordia has been scrappy this season, but Luers should handle this one easy...Knights by 21 North Side at Northrop....Northrop without their healthy QB1 is just same old Northrop. Legends have the athletes to keep them contained as well...Legends by 26 Snider at Carroll...Top Offense vs Top Defense. I think the Panthers will pick off Jimmy Football a few times, but will need to take those back for 6 to win this game...Carroll by 3 South Side at Wayne...Wayne gets a bounce back W....Generals by 17
-
Carroll at Dwenger...hopefully with their starting QB back the Dwenger offense can do something, but if they can't figure that out it'll be a long night. Saints offense needs a huge overhaul...Carroll by 21 Concordia at North...North looked solid on defense, but again not sure how much of that was the vanilla BD offense. Another team where getting outcoached will cost them in close games. Luckily they have enough athletes that this shouldn't be close...North by 16 Snider At South..always tough to see South have to go through a gauntlet like this after such a competitive start to the season...Panthers by 35 Wayne at Luers...I didn't buy into the Wayne hype in the offseason and after last week it seems like that was probably a good idea...Luers by 28 Homestead at Northrop...the loss of their QB1 turns Northrop from a fun offense that can slightly mask its defensive deficiencies to just the same old Bruins...Spartans by 30

I do understand your thoughts on Coach Johnson's passion. Most people know its nearly impossible to build something up at a FWCS not name Snider. He's does a lot for those kids and puts in the work. My main issue is that sometimes it seems that passion is a little misguided. For the last 3 years North has had a boatload of talent, but they seemed to lack good schemes and adjustments as well as discipline. On the flip side of that I've been in the BD bleachers enough over the last few years to hear the complaints about Coach Garrett and his lack of discipline and the "decline" of the Saints program, which I find terribly overblown. I agree that this should be a great game that comes down to one score!

Concordia at Snider...seeing the stat that this is Concordia's first 2-0 start in 40 years was shocking to me, awesome to see them turn the corner. Unfortunately for them this will be a good week for the Snider offense to continue to find its rhythm...Panthers by 28 Dwenger at North Side...this is where I will be Friday Night. Saints looked much better for a majority of the game against Moeller, just wore down at the end. QB injury makes this one more iffy. North has more talent, but I think it will come down to which team can stay disciplined, where BD has a slight edge, and special teams, where the Saints are much stronger...Dwenger by 2 Northop at Luers...Bruins can put up a lot of points. But think the Knights D can slow that down, and Bruins have shown no defensive ability...Knights by 10 South Side at Carroll...Carroll didn't care about running up last year, they'll do it again this week...Chargers by 50 Wayne at Homestead...two teams I have no idea what to make of, and I'm not sure if this game will give me a better idea about either. Picking the home team...Spartans by 7

Carroll at Center Grove...CG losing to 2 games in a row hasn't happened in 5 years. Carroll didn't show me anything last week that would make me think they could get it done...Center Grove by 17 Cincinnati Moeller at Dwenger...Another year of not getting a good read on BD until Week 3, maybe they should look into new out of conference opponents moving forward...Moeller by 38 East Noble at Snider...Panthers Defense looked as good as advertised in Week 1, hopefully the offense can get some rhythm against a weaker opponent. Snider by 14 Concordia at Eastbrook...Cadets proved me wrong last week. Think they can put up another good fight this week. Cadets by 7 Luers at New Haven...New Haven looked bad last week. Luers should be able to control this game. Knights by 20 Northrop at Huntington North...Northrop seems to have weapons this year, can they keep up the scoring pace to help the lackluster D? Northrop by 5 South Side at South Bend St. Joseph...Heartbreak for South last week, hopefully they don't let that spoil any momentum they had...St.Joe by 20 Lawrence North at North Side..Legends picked up an impressive win. But playing better teams Special Teams matter. LN by 11 Noblesville at Homestead...Homestead also needs to go the Dwenger route and switch up the out of conference schedule....Noblesville by 35 South Bend Riley At Wayne...the Wayne hype train is in question for me for having to claw out an OT win vs Attucks, could be the most competitive game of the week..Generals by 2
-
Dwenger at Brownsburg...Hearing BD should be better this year. Still quite the gap to catch up to the Bulldogs. Brownsburg by 35 North Side at Northridge...North has all the talent in the world, but can they harness it for the best? History says no...Northridge by 14 Wayne At Crispus Attucks...Is this the year Wayne lives up to the hype? A big win week 1 will add fuel to the fire...Wayne by 30 Hamilton SE at Carroll...Last years game was heavy for HES revenge. Should be another great game...Chargers by 7 Homestead at Carmel...Homestead almost pulled the stunner Week 1 last year. Think this year Carmel will be ready..Carmel by 20 Scecina at Concordia...Cadets have a lot to prove they aren't the worst team in NEI this season...Scecina by 24 Leo at Luers...Lions have a lot to replace, but think they'll have a few more playmakers to squeak it out...Lions by 4 Marion at South Side...Archers get a much needed program victory...South by 7 New Haven at Northrop...how does New Haven respond to a sudden coaching change? Can Northrop get the ball to playmakers?...New Haven by 12 Warren Central at Snider...been hearing this may be an old school power run Snider type team this year, if they control the tempo they'll control a lot of games...Snider by 10

In-Person vs. Streaming
IPFWFootball replied to Bobref's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
As someone who doesn't have a dog in the fight, streaming is the way to go. Nothing was better last week than having Snider-Mishawaka on the TV, BD-Cathedral on the iPad, and Luers-Bluffton on the phone. Through the season I still try to hit some home games. Usually the home openers and homecomings. But when it is bad weather/too cold to take the little one out, makes it so much easier to watch from the comfort of the basement. Will be streaming tonight
