  1. Do they play Trinity or Homestead in any other sports? They play CG in everything. You’re probably right though. The MIC probably told Carmel they have to pick a fight with CG and they’ll let them back in the conference??
  2. Carmel doesn’t want to travel to the south side. This was the first best excuse to drop CG. Unfortunate since this is one of the top match ups in almost every sport.
  3. Did they say why they’re disappointed? Seems like a great match up..
  4. I think CG would’ve won state without Coyle, but in much closer games. He made them dominate at the end of the season because he improved his game to the next level! For the record: I would take CG’s O-line against the field almost every year.
  5. Coyle had 268yds in those 2 games. CG called off the dogs against CN and FC played the only way they could even stay close against CG. 3yds a carry and going for it on every 4th down. What no one mentions is that CG was on the 2 yard line when they took a couple knees to end the game. The score was closer than the game. I would say that every team plays a little harder in the tournament since it is going to be their last game.
  6. Even if Wheat hadn’t gotten hurt, he was not going to be the workhorse for CG. He is a slasher and would’ve been great, but Coyle would’ve been the hammer. Maybe Bowen doesn’t win?? Best player on the best team.
  7. Coyle was a much improved RB by the end of the season. If he had run the ball against Trinity like he ran against pretty much everyone in the tournament that game would have been a 2 score win for CG. He stopped trying to outrun everyone and started punishing them! I think Hansen is just as deserving but Coyle had a better tournament and his team won the championship.
  8. I don’t know Hansen’s stats in the playoffs, but Coyle rushed for 918yds and 11 touchdowns. 4 TD’s against Warren Central and Cathedral. Stepped up when it really counted against top level competition.
  9. Rumor has it that they will be on CG’s schedule starting next season.
  10. I think Hansen is the winner, but I’m surprised no one has mentioned Micah Coyle from Center Grove. Carries-306 Yards-2072, AVG-6.8, TD-22, and his team won the state championship.
  11. This season you had Roncalli vs EC and CG vs Cathedral in semi state. Many consider those games to be the true state championship, and it played out that way. Although Cathedral’s score wasn’t much better than Carroll’s it was a closer game.
  12. Agree. Even if the top teams are on the same side of the bracket, they have to play each other to earn the right to play in the championship game.
  13. You missed 1 WR, 1 RB, 3 DL, 3LB’s and Safety. All Juniors except for TE.
  14. Discounting middle school because they have 2 middle schools the 24 class had not lost a game since 3rd grade until Trinity this season.
  15. According to the brackets, 2/4/6A play on 11-25, and 1/3/5A play 11-26.
  16. You may not be far off with the concussion moms. I hear at the youth level the Carmel dads club has become the moms club…
  17. Ive watched all of those teams and didn’t notice anyone playing both ways. Not that I was keeping track. I agree that New Pal would be competitive, but if I’m their AD I’m not moving into a conference with all 6A schools. IMO Football is the one sport where enrollment really matters.
  18. The gauntlet for a team like New Pal playing a MIC schedule is depth. North Central and Pike are bad but Pike is still very physical. The 4 other schools in the conference can beat anyone on a given night, and all take a toll on the depth chart each week. They would either be totally prepared for a 4A tournament run or decimated due to their lack of depth.
  19. CG’s JV guys were getting ready to warm up before that goal line stand by Cathedral. Went from possibly being 36-13 to the wheels falling off! Credit to Cathedral’s kids for never quitting! Great win for them and a demoralizing loss for CG!!
  20. Not as much national hype, because neither team is in the top 10, but I’m sure the coaches and the kids are just as excited about playing this game! Having Brownsburg and HSE being undefeated and playing the same night steals some thunder also. CG 42 Cathedral 31
  21. If Cathedral holds CG to 17 they will win, but they won’t. 42-31 CG. I think you’re spot on the rest of the games, although I think WC keeps it closer 24-21.
  22. Friday night will tell a lot. Cathedral @ CG Brownsburg @ HSE Should be good!
