Early in the Day
Valpo 17 Penn 16
Bremen 21 SB St. Joe 7

Heck of a game by Marian. That sounded like a great game. Penn let one slip away today. Bremen pleasantly surprised me today. I expected to compete today, but didn’t expect to control the game the way they did. Tip my caps to both schools for making this game happen.

Sweet
Just saw it on Twitter.

Adapt and advance. They have some game film. Just focus on running your game plan and system, use the game to knock off rust. Next week is not guaranteed. Seniors deserve every opportunity to play this season. We are conference partners, relatively close. Makes sense to me.

LaVille officially cancelled their first game.

LaVille has officially cancelled their game against Bremen. Bremen and St. Joe should play on Saturday.

Any word out of Bourbon how Triton is looking?

A lot of passing. A ton. Backs have speed but not size. OLine is undersized but athletic.
-
Bremen did some good things offensively against St. Joe. Lions have some athletes. Need to tighten up the defense.

School enrollment in a lot of places are going to suffer and this was expected prior to covid. Family sizes are down and deomographic studies by several schools have shown that the younger grades are down in class size compared to the upper grades, as the older kids leave, the younger numbers are not replacing them. I heard in my area 7 of the 8 schools studies are facing enrollment declines.

Source? I am not seeing anything official. Purdue practiced today, so some are carrying on as business as usual. On the Dan Patrick show, sources said a straw poll was 12-2 to cancel with Iowa and Nebraska wanting to play.

Bremen's Jamboree at Goshen was cancelled. They will scrimmage SB St. Joe Friday with no fans.

The IHSAA isn't shutting anyone down over rudamentary case counts. County by county decisions will be made between health departments and school corporations. Some schools might not play....but a lot will. Every school will have cases.
We will see. I don't trust the leadership of this state to hold course.

I don't know, I'm trying to be optimistic, but I have my doubts. I want a season, but cases spiked again this week. I don't know what the answer is.

Heard Bremen relieved one of their main assistant coaches. He was a high energy guy. Losing him will have an impact on the team. Coach Leeper will have to adapt and adjust on the fly.

Yep, I just reread what you wrote. Apparently I forgot how to read earlier.

Welp... with tonight's news that Concord, NorthWood and Northirdge have suspended sports, I guess we'll be lucky to see a season. It will be interesting to see if Plymouth, Warsaw and Wawasee (and I guess Mishawaka for now - but they're in a "hotter" zone than the other schools) end up playing a season if those others do not. If most of the NIC gets taken out as well, it'll be interesting to see if unaffected teams try and stick it out for a season and come up with random schedules almost week by week or something.
For Warsaw, depending on what happens, but lets say all of Lake, Porter, LaPorte, St Joseph and Elkhart county schools shut down football this season. Hypothetical schedule like this:
8/21: @ Huntington North
8/28: vs. East Noble (since East Noble would have an opening with NorthWood being shut down)
9/4: @ Plymouth
9/11: vs. Culver Military (since CMA would have an opening with Hobart being shut down)
9/18: @ Wawasee (move the game up earlier in the year to make way for a possible make-up for one of the suspended teams if they come back)
9/25: @ Knox (since Knox would have an opening with LaVille being shut down - school is literally at the very southern edge of St. Joseph County. Plus, who wouldn't want to see Radtke vs. Curtis?)
10/2: vs. Angola (since Angola would have an opening with South Bend Clay being shut down)
10/9: vs. Lakeland (since Lakeland would have an opening with Fairfield being shut down)
10/16: vs. Breman (since Breman would have an opening with South Bend Clay being shut down)It's not the most intriguing schedule (6 - 4A schools, 2 - 3A schools, 1 - 2A school), but it would be a full 9 game schedule (wishful thinking I know!). And would help those other teams fill out their own schedules due to programs being shut down. As well, while smaller schools, programs such as East Noble, CMA, Knox and Angola are no slouches.
2 things. Knox is in Starke County and I love the idea of scheduling BremEn. Had to give you a little grief for your misspelling.

No it will not. Be positive
It will be. Plus. That’s kind of an odd picture to allow kids faces like that in media.
I have seen this floating around on various social media outlets. My guess it's taken by a student and then disseminated from there. The schools in my area are requiring facemasks in accordance with the state guidelines.

Exactly.
Once schools that aren't doing E learning open up.. Covid will spread like wildfire..thus bringing football to an end and winter sports not even starting.
A lot of schools opened up last week and this week. We will see if your speculation ends up being true.

Local schools, local decisions.

Bremen has about 42 out according to Max Preps not county an freshmen. That is a slight uptick from the last few years.
