Anybody with a quarter of a brain knew this game would be a blowout. CG/Brownsburg/Cathedral are on a completely different tier then everyone else this year.

Columbus East up 14-0 but my goodness, this is one of the most undisciplined East teams during this 15-17 year run. The East defense is light years behind the East offense. Flagged 4 times in the first 12 minutes so far. 6 flags total against East.

As an Olympian Fan I can say we haven’t had too many beat downs like we had last night in the last 20ish years. Cathedral has given us a few during this 20 year run and Center Grove has done it once, but other than that not much. First and Foremost congrats to Elkhart on the safe drive down, playing a very good game and making a safe drive back.. Elkhart has an outstanding team this year with a ton of athletes. Rodney McGraw is an absolute animal and I see why many big schools recruited him. So many playmakers on the offensive side of the ball as well.. Elkhart is going to have an outstanding year. I believe with East’s recent enrollment decline they are a high ended enrollment 4A school. I was hoping they would be more competitive with a bigger school but unfortunately last night it didn’t happen.. East will drop back down to 5A after this year is finished where I see they will probably stay for the foreseeable future because they will continue to get enough points to stay up in 5A. Congrats to Elkhart again on the W, and good luck the rest of the year.

I think they have somewhere around 3200-3400 kids. Would be almost equivalent of combining the 2 Columbus schools together.

They combined with Elkhart Central to combine Elkhart High.. its a combination of 2 5A schools into 1 6A mega... they have def got something going in there direction. Good looking football team.

Final from Columbus : Elkhart - 52 Columbus East - 28 I’m honestly not sure I’ve seen East play a team in many many years with that much talent on the opposing team.. I’m not saying they are the best team we have played in many years, but my goodness they were Big, Athletic and Super Fast.. Have a safe ride home to all of the Elkhart fans that made the trip down.

It doesn’t matter if him and the best players from last year were back. Elkhart far superior in all facets of the game. Elkhart - 28 CE - 7 2 minutes until half.. East has 0 pass defense, and Elkhart’s D-Line is causing havoc. By far the best team we have seen so far this year. WOW

East pass defense is atrocious. 15 yard cushions, Elkhart playing pitch and catch for first downs.

I also agree with this, I think Cathedral is a few TD’s better than anyone else in 5A. They are absolute monsters this year.

Got my tickets for the game on Friday.. ready to see them in person.

Just going by what votes came in 🙂 if you look in the paper’s when college rankings come out they usually have teams out of the top 25 and how many votes they received.

IFCA Week 3 Poll East - #17 in 6A vs 6A #14 Elkhart Floyd - #13 in 5A vs Cincy Elder

East will have played a Top 10-15 schedule in the entire state after the 3rd game.. Not going to find many teams that played a tougher 1st 3 games. Having watched East vs Whiteland week 1 I thought for sure we were going to start 0-3... but whatever Gaddis and that team did in practice last week really turned everything around. They looked excellent (minus about 8 minutes of gameplay) against North. Defense laid some HUGE hits on kids, the East O-Line really looked good and super physical.

Who the hell were those announcers for the Whiteland vs GS game? My god that guy from 89.1 The Bash was atrocious! I understand they were local southern folk, but put a student on the mic and it would have been a better broadcast. Thank god that was free
