  1. Preaching to the choir Backer. A shame that sports specialization is being preached in club programs all around the state every day.
  2. I'm not sure. I'm sure most of their football players are home grown but their student base has benefited.
  3. Started play this year with the 6 smaller schools. Greenwood and Shelbyville to join next year.
  4. Shelbyville and Greenwood will both soon be big fish in a 3A/2A conference next year. That should help them both. I expect both teams to fair better joining the Hoosier Legends Conference with Indian Creek, Triton Central, Speedway, Beech Grove, Monrovia and Tri-West. Might take some embarrassing lumps at first but they will find succes and success breeds success. Richmond should be better than 0-10 every year. They should at least compete with the Muncie Centrals and Marions of the world. No knowledge on Jennings County other than thats a toughish conference most years.
  5. Why isn't Munster good?
  6. Whoops. Hope I don't send anyone the wrong way. Got my Reitz Memorial and Reitz backwards. Confusing matchup lol
  7. The Terre Haute schools have struggled with the same issues (although to a lesser extent) as the NCC schools. Jobs leaving, urban blight, open enrollment, yadda yadda yadda. Consolidation might give a shot at in the arm initially but I expect sustained success to be hard to come by in their new conference consisting of Danville, Lebanon, Harrison and McCutcheon.
  8. Wayne seems to have quit the last few weeks, while Concordia seems to run out of talent. Give me Concordia in a minor upset special. Concordia 32-29 I think Dwenger big brothers Luers. The confidence the Knights offense has built up the past couple of weeks will be false as the Saints force turnovers against the young offense. Dwenger 28-7 The Archers are my favorite team in the SAC and I've been proud of their performance so far this year. I think its going to be a track meet on the south side. North 50-35 Either the Northrop O runs wild or the two bitter rivals will play a defensive stalemate at Spuller. The Panthers will keep it close in the first half. Northrop 35-14 I think Carroll and Homestead should be a rock fight. Homefield advantage is the key. Carroll 28-21
  9. Greenwood, Columbus East, McCutcheon, Jay County, Lake Central, Castle (wins a bunch but really shouldn't lose as much as they do), Angola, Mt. Vernon (Fortville), Boonville all should win more than they do.
  10. That was rude of me I apologize. Marion needs a feeder program. Smallest school in the conference by a lot. Do well most years to win 5 games. Marion being a basketball driven community doesn't help. The 15 best athletes of every grade grow up thinking they're full time basketball players. That, coupled with our free and reduced lunch numbers make me inclined to believe that Marion should not be on this list of 10 schools that should be sustainably good every year in football.
  11. How many times has Ole Miss been to semistate in their past decade of dominance?
  12. WC at LN if you're feeling frisky, Cathedral at Center Grove if you aren't. I know you said 4A or higher preferably but Indian Creek at Triton Central should be fun. 1A #1 South Putnam is at 4A 5-1 Northview, and that should be an interesting matchup. Other good ones Bloomington South at Columbus North Chatard at Harrison (WL) Delta at Pendleton Heights Westfield at Avon Couple of good ones way up north SAC Rivalry week has Homestead at Carroll, Snider and Throp in the last shared game at Spuller, Battle of the Bishops and the Totem Pole game. Warsaw at Mishawaka Couple of games of consequence down south Reitz at Memorial Castle at Jasper BNL at Floyd Central for the Hoosier Hills title
  13. I mostly just listed random programs in random order like you did.
  14. Top 10 p4p p/p 1. Andrean 2. Indianapolis Lutheran 3. Evansville Mater Dei 4. Fort Wayne Luers 5. Evansville Memorial 6. Indianapolis Chatard 7. Indianapolis Cathedral 8. Providence 9. Heritage Christian 10. Brebeuf Jesuit
  15. For what its worth, DeKalb seems to be up a little bit this year.
  16. Shoulda been 3. Had a 80 yarder called back to win it. The play before was definitely a hold. The 80 yard touchdown? I didn't see it. How about Dwenger? Big time win over Carroll! State or bust for the Saints this year. East Noble looked human tonight.
  17. Who is on the shopping list? Does any school even make sense? As the football league continues to pull apart, its a good thing the basketball league has been exciting and competitive on both the boys and girls sides.
  18. Leanding rusher in the nation. He's got some lofty goals this year including setting the all time state and single season records. Off to a lightning start.
  19. Call me crazy, but I think Marian beats St Joe
  20. Real toss up! Best of luck!
  21. Give me your Bears and keep the field goal! Some of the top small school matchups: Tipton at Western (-13.5) Alexandria at Eastbrook (pickem) Knox (-14.5) at Tippy Valley Beech Grove (-2.5) at Indian Creek Heritage (-7.5) at South Adams Angola at West Noble (-6.5) Scecina at Lutheran (-9) Linton (-13) at Sullivan Seeger at Riverton Parke (-6.5) Eastside (-10) at Churubusco North Judson (-20.5) at North Miami South Putnam (-9) at Eastern Hancock Madison-Grant (-17) at Oak Hill
  22. 3A: NECC Big division/Sectional 26 is a mess again this year. Angola is having one of their best starts in a while. West Noble still looks capable. Garrett's defense is still strong and the offense has some pop. Fairfield has had some moments early, and Lakeland's offense just hasn't quite come together yet in meaningful games. They could all beat each other on any given night imo. Concordia and Woodlan are both shaky and Tippy Valley has a telling game against Knox this week. Sectional 28 goes through Luers Field until someone from 3A beats em. The defense has been nails but the offense has little experience and is yet to click at all. They qb swapped in the second half against Snider so it will be interesting to see who starts going forward. Ole Miss and Heritage have had great starts, with the Indians being a big time threat to BL this year. 2A: AC hasn't played to their full potential yet, but are still a bit ahead of the rest of Sectional 35. And Eastside rematch would be incredible, as they are the other real contenders imo. Bluffton really hasn't put a full game together yet either. The offense has been good at times and the defense has carried the load at other times. Busco and Eastside should a fun one this week for the NECC small school division. 36 is balanced. Alex, Eastbrook, Tipton, Eastern are all off to good starts. Who knows. 1A: If out of state opponents counted towards Sagarin strength of schedule in a meaningful way, South Adams would have the toughest SOS so far in the class this season. They'll probably have to beat Madison-Grant and North Miami or Triton
  23. Agreed on BD. Saints defense keeps them in it against anyone in 4A.
