  1. lol...nothing makes Bloomington desirable...lol
  2. Finally got to watch the game last night...wow...so, much emotion and the come back...wow...what a game...sorry, late to the game...
  3. They have lots of talented sophomore's...According to one of their fans @ the Lincoln game...one of the best classes to come through so far...we were off that week and went and watched them.
  4. even though they outscored us 30-7...we had the lead at 19-16 late in the third quarter...they game was a 23-19 game until 2 minutes left...when they scored as we were switching defenses on the field...It was a really close game...and if someone else says different...i will watch with them and they can tell me when MD had the game in hand until the last2 minutes...they beat us...they are physical, which no one else has been to us this year...They will give Linton a hard time...I am not sure it will be close, but, the game hasn't been played yet...so, who knows!
  5. I don't think anyone is taking the Miners for granted...I know North Knox wont if we play you guys again. I think it would be a bad thing to do that. You guys always play well in the tournament. Good luck this week.
  6. I meant...we saw the way they ran a few plays differently and how much more smoothly it flowed through them...we took some advice from their coaches and by watching film...it has helped us. Just saying...all opinion here. It as nothing to do with what Mater Dei is and runs...
  7. We played them this year...and right before the Linton game! Let's say they still run it very well...and as a matter of fact, they taught us a lot about it...since said game our offense has improved a whole bunch. I know it will take a really good game for us to beat Mater Dei...but, I like our chances better after playing Rensselear Central. I think it will be a great game...just my opinion.
  8. The kids that want to play football go to NK or Vincennes to play...and they are a cross country school...lol
  9. Yeah...that is actually a Jr High dad...it is real fun on the road when we score...when we beat Booneville on their homecoming last year...that was the first time we heard it...we had no clue he was bringing it...now it's at all the games. Yeah, we preach toughness...if we dont win...at least they will remember how hard we hit...lol...fun game last night. I thought we were in trouble when the kickoff got ran back right at half time to bring you guys within a score...if we would have went into hafltime with 22-8 lead...we may have been able to win...lol...oh well, it was a good learning game for our young kids.
  10. Thanks to the Gibson Southern folks for playing us...we have had to look hard for games this year...It was a very competitive game...good luck to the varsity for the rest of the season. I honestly thought you guys would show up with like 30 kids...have some very talented freshman...our team was about half and half freshman/sophomores...
  11. Thanks...I think it really helped getting our butt's whipped on the line last week to get them fired up for this week. We played a really good game...it was fun to beat the Miners for the first time in 11 years.
  12. besides the week side TE we have all new starters this year...one of them would have been a starter had he not tore his acl.
  13. I did meet you then...I am the specials teams and running backs coach...we stood around pregame and talked for a minute...glad to meet you and put a face with the name on here.
  14. You beat us up front...last year we had all seniors across the line...we are young and starting to get a little bit of grove going. I just appreciate the physicality of this game...a bunch of hard legal hitting...it was a fun game to watch.
  15. I just got a chance to read this and I am so thankful to be able to meet people like this and work with some top notch school systems. A Positive Story.docx In this strange unpredictable world of Covid-19, I have a very positive story I would like to share with you. Last week my team, the Rensselaer Central Bombers prepared very hard for our next opponent, the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights. We were scheduled for a major Hoosier Conference showdown to be played at their place. My team came to school wearing their game jerseys all fired up for the big game. At 9:00am after my first class I teach, our school athletic director, informed me that the game had been cancelled by Central Catholic due to Covid issues. With less than 10 hours to go before kick off, I expressed to our athletic director that I would like to see if any team is out there available and willing to play on such short notice and he agreed. Within an hour we had our opponent. The North Knox Warriors had two games already cancelled on them this season due to Covid. Pike Central cancelled on them for last Friday. As fate had it, by 11am on Friday, our athletic director, Ken Hickman had reached out to North Knox’s athletic director, Kent Doades and the next thing I knew was we would be playing a football game on Saturday. With North Knox being 3 1/2 hours away, the next issue was where would this game be played? That’s where this story gets even better. Covington High School was contacted to see if they would be willing to host this game as a neutral site. The athletic director there, Trent McCormick was gracious enough to accept the game as a neutral site host. So, this past Saturday the Rensselaer Central Bombers and the North Knox Warriors got together in Covington, Indiana and played a 48 minute game of high school football. Both communities came to Covington to support their teams. For two teams that had never played each other in any sport, this was a first. Hats off to all three schools and their athletic directors and administration for allowing this to happen. Needless to say it was a beautiful afternoon of pads popping, fans cheering, and sportsmanship by all. It was a great time by all! I am not going to share the score with you because it doesn’t matter. What mattered was we played! Finally, thank you to all of you at the IHSAA for having the foresight to allow us to play high school sports this Fall. It has meant so much for our student athletes, coaches, parents, and communities. Through your guidance and leadership it is amazing to see us entering Week 7 in football. As Coach Brohm says so well at Purdue, “Let’s Play Football!” Respectfully Submitted, Chris Meeks Head Football Coach Rensselaer Central High School
  16. I never talked about the grid...but, i did talk to a bunch of their coaches and fans(So, I may have)..really great people. They are a fun hard nosed team to play against...it definitely benefitted us to play them.
  17. We run the exact same offense as RC...so, Linton would be prepared...lol
  18. Pike Central cancelled on NK due to covid and contact tracing...that is the third game this year for NK...I am over it...lol
  19. He looks a lot stronger this year...good for him, sorry we missed him this year.
  20. My thoughts on Sullivan...they were young, but, really strong and aggressive...I think they will have a decent season. I thought Coach Powell had them working pretty sharp for a shortened preseason.
  21. We were suppose to play Mt Carmel week 9...guess we will find someone new...lol
  22. This is the story we got...his wife is doing a residency for medical school...somewhere far away...family first. That is the story i heard...
