  1. It was no secret whatsoever. It was all over the sports channels. While Meyer was at Utah, and Notre Dame had done initial interviews, they sent one of their private planes to Utah to escort Meyer to South Bend. He said no thank you.
  2. So, the topic is a dozen, but only ten on the list. I would add that Jimbo Fisher fits well on this list. The notion of Meyer to FSU is basically because Fisher ran the program into the mess it is in now. Any coach that comes in will have an even tougher job. Central Florida is a popular program among the Florida kids lately....maybe even more so that Miami and Florida? I know Florida has had a solid year, but they struggled for a number of years here recently. Even South Florida is getting some decent recruits in State.
  3. Alpha has overplayed her hand now. Mischonne is on to her. I am curious to see what develops with Negan now.
  4. I think the 10th game for half the teams playing will do exactly what you described as the reason to eliminate the bye; it can kill any momentum gained going into the playoffs. I think you might get more traction with something either you or someone else posted in the other topic; a bye week in the regular season. A number of schools now have a full week of Fall break now, so it might be good to have the bye weeks scheduled the same week.
  5. Logistics has become an issue. If all teams, except the few sectionals that have byes, in all classes were playing the first Friday, the number of officiating crews available is an issue. Looking over recent years, I think you have a tough sell on the notion that it kills momentum, especially in 5A and 6A, where the favorites win FAR more often than not.
  6. Solid list, but hard to say that Hazell was the worst hire of all time. Michigan fans will claim RichRod was. Irish fans will claim Gerry Faust was. Ohio State fans will likely say Earl Bruce was. Tennessee can claim Lane Kiffin. I am sure a LOT of programs can put up a name to claim that spot, and not be far off. Even IU can claim Bill Lynch was the worst hire of all time.
  7. Again...at that time, Illinois had just beaten Wisconsin with Peters leading the way, and has quietly put together a decent season. Patterson had looked average at best. There had been no indication going into the game Saturday that Patterson would play like he did. I made that comment just after halftime of the UM vs. Penn State game where Patterson was really struggling. So again you get to be the after the fact genius.....congrats.
  8. He has said in previous years he would rather take a sack than have some costly turnover.
  9. Great seeing the short passing game against the aggressive blitzing of KC, and being patient without even trying to go deep. That has been missing for a LONG time. Green Bay staff did a MUCH better job of adjusting at halftime than KC did.....also something that was good to see for a change. McCarthy had a plan and stuck to it no matter what with no adjustments.
  10. Yeah...ok. So going INTO the game, rather than being an “after the fact” genius you are, what indication was there that Michigan was going to play like they did that makes what I said SOOOOOO outlandish? Going into the game what indication was there that ND was going to play like they did to make what I said SOOOOO outlandish? The fact is your stupid comment AFTER the fact is the outlandish one, but hey confrats on that internet trophy....your sure showed me, and earned it.
  11. True, but a flag for being too mean to Brady would be thrown in that scenario, so same result. 🤣🤣🤣
  12. So what you are saying is that your REAL skill then is just pointing out where other people were not accurate on their speculations? Ok.....let me get my liquid paper out and fix what the trophy is for......congrats are still in order for you.
  13. And THAT is hard to do. 😂😂😂
  14. Well gee......you sure showed us. Congrats on your speculating skills on the GID being so superior to mine. Here is your award for winning the internet. lol
  15. I saw the point of the post as showing the hypocrisy of the leadership in the Indy Diocese. A woman who does her job, and does it well, is fired because she does not meet some morality clause in a contract in the eyes of the Archbishop; yet a priest charged with multiple counts of disgusting acts that are not only illegal, but also violate the teachings of the church is merely reassigned and later suspended.
  16. Just 3 seasons in, and Fleck has shown his mettle as a coach....very impressive. He has gotten results everywhere he has been.
  17. Ian Book is still the weak link on this Irish team....still VERY hesitant under pressure, and even gets nervous when there is no real pressure around him. Nothing has changed in his play from week 1.
  18. Solid road win for the Hoosiers...JUST enough defense to hang on. And becoming bowl eligible is a bonus...even at their best in recent years, they were not in a spot to be bowl eligible at this point in the season. On a personal note, I am so happy for Coach Allen; love seeing him lead this team to this point; definitely something to build on.
  19. From the one angle, it does appear o be a pick play. What is hard to tell though is that the other defender is really close too. Did they run into each other???? There is another angle from a phone that is not really clear, but it does look more like the receiver not only contacted him, but maybe a blindside hit?
  20. I NEVER in my life thought I would EVER root for the visiting team at Lambeau.
  21. I will say USC is the perfect place to land for a guy that has baggage following him. 🤣🤣🤣
  22. I think so too, but I will add that we were in row 51 in the Northeast corner of the endzone, and he could CLEARLY be heard during a time out ripping the refs. I was impressed he had that much volume to him. I have been known to have my voice carry pretty far, but I am not sure I could match his lol as far as Urban goes...I agree he is a great coach, but for some reason, this OSU team is playing MUCH better than the teams of the last couple years. They are not letting underdogs hang around this year, they are putting them out of their misery early. I would add that it does seem that there is enough baggage that follows him now that ND admins will stay away.
  23. I agree with everything you said except about Saturday. I don’t see Michigan beating them. I think Harbaugh is hanging on by a thread. I also think Shea Patterson struggles too often on the big stage. My hope is that ND has a similar game plan as Wisconsin did against Michigan. Sure the big house will be a hostile environment, but it isn’t “Georgia hostile”. The Irish are used to the big stage games.
