  1. I saw Whitlock post something about Succession. I have been wanting to watch Righteous Gemstones. Thanks for the recommendation. I will check them out.
  2. AAAAAANNNNNNND, the school WAS in Virginia. 😳
  3. Sometimes watching the Talking Dead afterward reveals more than I seem to catch during the show. Only a hint of Beta’s past as a musician was given, not much else that I saw. It was interesting getting some of the background, and the start of the wearing faces thing, but it seemed they spent a LOT of time on that. I am also finding the buildup to what is coming is often overdone. What are the odds that an attack is coming from the whisperers in the next episode? At this point, Alpha just gives me the creeps.....kill her off already.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjM7kDhpHw8 Check out the 4:00 mark...approximately....very impressive run.
  5. Not judging the kid at all here, and I am glad things have worked out for him. But based on your post, it sounds like it was on Stepp to get the job done; maybe even more so than ND's.
  6. He was impressive. I felt that USC did not use him nearly enough last night.
  7. One other observation, Claypool plays a lot on special teams. He limped off the field on the last ND kickoff. The limp looked bad.
  8. My first experience of seeing ND vs. usc in person....what a great day it was. Got a great parking spot for tailgating at 8:30 am, had a lot of good food, beverages , stogies, etc. 🙂 Has fun razzing a few sc fans along the way as well. 🤣 As for the game itself, the offense looked great in the 2nd quarter, but struggled most of the day beyond that. It was nice to see the run game going even while it was struggling. Not sure why the OC was so committed to the wide passes at the LOS so much. I thought Book looked average at best. He has some fantastic receivers that can catch poorly thrown balls. Seeing it in person, it is more obvious that he holds the ball too long. I did not see him throw a guy open once. Every throw was made after a receiver came out of his break. Many of his throws gave the DB’s time to break on the ball and be a factor in the play. Defense looked great at times, especially in the first half. One consistent theme for them throughout the game was missed tackles; way too many misses. The defense struggled at times in the 2nd half as sc was able to run at will. The two long TD drives by sc were impressive. I am not sure why they don’t give Stepp more carries. That dude is a beast. The Irish FG team and kicker were the difference makers in this one. The wind was howling all day long, and to hit from 40 and 52 was impressive. one of the great parts of the pregame....the ND announcer giving the game time forecast and saying “Trojans, you are not in LA now”. 🤣
  9. Just curious....years and years ago, there was a set amount you could win before you would be taxed. IIRC, it was $2,000. The tracks even had IRS reps woking the windows. Is there still an amount to win before taxes are paid?
  10. From his Twitter earlier today. This hits the nail on the head.
  11. Good question as far as allowing the Turks to do the dirty work. But it still does not really address the issue of the Kurds, and what they now face.
  12. Doubling down on the Kurds......”they didn’t help us in the second world war” Truly a sad situation for the Kurds who have been a strong ally for so long.
  13. My thinking is that when you get to this point in the post season, the difference between the teams still alive is minimal at best. As far as the MLB goes, even the teams that finish at the bottom are just percentage points off in key stats outside of winning percentage. A bloop single or two goes a different way, and the picture looks a LOT different. Historically, hockey has been the sport where home ice has made the least amount of difference. We regularly see the top seeds lose early in the playoffs....especially my Blackhawks making history just three seasons ago by getting swept and only scoring 3 goals in the series. All it really takes is one or two guys getting hot at the right time. Sure there is the choke factor as well. Certain players have the reputation for being clutch in the playoffs, and others have the reputation of choking. Keep in mind too that the playoffs in most sports have expanded. So “back in the day”, fewer teams meant the more dominant team in the regular season was more likely to win a title. Baseball had just the pennant race and the world series. Football had no wild card round for years. Basketball was similar to baseball with just a couple of rounds. Basketball is also unusual in that it is the only sport, college level included, that does not reseed each round. Reseeding increases the chances for the top seed to win. But more teams in the playoffs also increases the odds for upsets. Good topic though...curious to see what others will say.
  14. The previews for next week gave the appearance that Beta is developing doubts about Alpha and her ability to lead.
  15. But Ellen admitted she was a Packers fan, and had to quietly root for them that day. 😁 Just one more reason to like her. 🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀
  16. It’s back....apologies to @DannEllenwood for not waiting. Pretty good episode last night. It appears the jump in time was not as drastic this time. Somehow Alpha’s group obtained a nuclear weapon? Or did I miss that from last season? Carol stumbling on where Alpha lives was interesting. A nice arrow between the eyes of Alpha would have been fun to see. I will be curious where the writers go with what was found in the satellite.
  17. Could it be that he does not have a social media presence...at least to the extent that Ellen does? He definitely is not on twitter, the most vitriolic of all social media, in my opinion....just sayin.....I think it’s a stretch to even think that no one was critical of him at all for sitting next to her. Just because it wasn’t on social media does not mean it didn’t happen. I applaud Ellen for saying something that needed to be said. It goes to the hear of why I am such a big fan of hers. She uses her platform to be a positive force in our world; working to make a difference in people’s lives. So many people could learn some things from her.
  18. Not sure that really addresses the question, and while you are correct about zero indictments for election interference, there certainly were plenty of other indictments, convictions, and guilty pleas that came from the investigation. I am not excusing anything that has been done in the past. I do believe that the Republican congress and whoever is on the oversight committee could have and should have done more with regard to the DNC servers, emails, interference, etc. I put the fault for that squarely at Trey Gowdy’s feet...at least for the Clinton investigation.
  19. From that article...the part that seems confusing... "The message I’m getting from all this is apparently what we were supposed to have done was to ignore the Russian interference, ignore the Russian meddling and the threat that it poses to us, and oh, by the way, blown off what the then commander-in-chief, President Obama, told us to do, which was to assemble all the reporting that we could, that we had available to us -- and put it in one report that the president could pass on to the Congress and to the next administration. And while we’re at it, declassify as much as we possibly could to make it public, and that’s what we did." soooooooooooooo, if Obama’s goal was to turn the report over to congress and the next administration, knowing full well that congress had a Republican majority, AND that there was a possibility of Trump winning; is this REALLY about digging up dirt on Trump? Or just simply looking into Russian interference? Another glaring difference that comes up is that Obama used the federal government resources available for handling these investigations, whereas Trump used two of his personal attorneys. That difference, in my mind is the real issue that leads to the impeachment questions.
  20. No need for taking responsibility. I chuckled when I read it, but you went right back to the game discussion. Someone else chose to go “deeper”. 🙂
  21. This may be the longest stretch of time on this topic that a question about a Trump policy/policy change has gone unanswered by his staunchest supporters here. Also interesting to see a number of prominent Republican legislators speaking up in opposition. It even sounds like the change will not be approved by congress.
  22. Get back to the game talk. If you have other questions, there is already a topic on the ongoing matter in the Out of Bounds forum. I love seeing these two teams playing each other. Both are well coached teams. Having friends on both teams’ staffs, I am staying neutral. Best of luck to both teams.
  23. The Vatican has paused the decision in Indy until a full hearing takes place. https://www.indystar.com/story/news/education/2019/09/23/brebeuf-jesuit-vatican-temporarily-suspends-indianapolis-archdiocese-suspension-over-gay-teacher/2421202001/
