  1. I switch to the Irish game thinking this one was over.....and wow, a tie game? late in the 4th.
  2. This one got out of hand early. These players are just going through the motions now.
  3. I cannot get off the QR Code screen on my TV app, but am watching on my laptop
  4. More drama as this unfolds. Just like the drama in recent years, it will be a distraction in the locker room. If this gets worse…..and in the words of Clark W. Griswold Jr., “worse? How can it get any worse? We are on the threshold of hell”, Rodgers will retire. I think it is clear the relationship between him and LaFleur is fractured. Maybe Rodgers stays another year just to piss LaFleur off? I can see that happening too. If he does, I think both he and LaFleur are done after that. As far as Love goes, I am not so sure that he is the next guy. I look for them to move him. There is some good QB talent coming up on the collegiate level.
  5. With the all in tournament, and keeping the end of the season at Thanksgiving, it was an absolute must. 64 teams in 5 classes was the max each could have. The only other options were to start the season a week earlier or eliminate another game. The plan had been developed as we crept closer to 320. Once we hit 321 teams playing, 6 classes had to happen, and did. I give Bobby Cox some credit with planning ahead, and knowing that just evenly dividing teams in 6 classes was not a good solution.
  6. From firsthand knowledge, the ball has to touch the ground first. It is indeed Kick Catch Interference.
  7. They may be screaming mercy if that unfolds knowing who they may play there. 🤣
  8. I know coaches have that now, but also knwi it has not always been followed. If a coach has to justify why, then I can see it, but the justification would have to be significant. Giving them that leverage without requiring an explanation is unfair.
  9. Not really, just kinda cool to see how that came togather.
  10. I found this interesting. The Chargers have played inspired football this season after suddenly losing a teammate during the off season. Best of luck to both teams, but being in the area, I am rooting for the Chargers. Regardless of the outcome, emotions will be high
  11. I do think one thing that remains is to have coaches and AD's check for conflicts of interest....if they know an official, or if they know an opponet's coach or assistant coaches know of a possible concern.
  12. To clarify, the field width for HS is 53 and 1/3 yards. The distance between the hashes is 40 feet. And the distance from the hashes to the sidelines is 60 feet.
  13. Cathedral played there as well; in 07 we beat LaSalle 7-6, but our kicked doinked 3 FG attempts off the uprights......would have been good on a HS field.
  14. Yes they do still toast that moment every year https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nfl-legend-larry-csonka-toasts-commanders-ending-eagles-perfect-season-washington-fan-tonight
  15. Pretty cool to see….well, except if the school you are a part of or root for is on the wrong side of that list that is.
  16. I am willing to bet most people would prefer that as well. The fact is it has been a LONG time since I have see a nice grass surface. In fact, in 30 years of coaching, I can likely count on one hand the number of nice grass fields I have seen.
  17. This is a pretty good explanation of the difference in types of turf used. https://pioneerathletics.com/blog/basic-guide-to-synthetic-turf-part-2
  18. Posting here as there are a number of games on the LOS field. My guess is looking at 5 of these, the issue is the fields are not permanent installs. The regular pulling up and putting down may have an impact. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nflpa-calls-6-venues-improve-233031906.html
  19. I am curious if there is a playoff game if a visiting team can challenge a site being used based on this. Also, confoirmed from someone at the IHSAA that they indeed widen the posts at LOS for high school games.
  20. I willing to bet they change them. I know for certain they changed them at the dome. We practiced there when they were just finishing tightening the bolt for crossbar. The other thing is imagine an attempted FG for a chance to win a title that hits the uprights. I am also willing to bet the IHSAA considered that same thing and made it a must have for any HS game.
  21. That was a different Packers team. I was expecting the worst, and they kept themselves in the game. Rodgers to Watson was fun to watch. Overall, the offense played well. There were still some misses, in the run and the pass game. I think we are seeing a growing issue between MLF and 12. It was not the first time we saw Rodgers bitch at the head coach, and likely won't be the last. This late in the relationship, I am not sure much can be done to repair it. LaFleur may try, but once Rodgers cuts someone off, I don't believe he looks back. I will be curious to see how the team responds to a big win like this.
  22. The Vikings Bills game was the best game of the season by far. So many incredible plays made by guys on both teams. I am willing to concede the Vikings are pretty good at this point.
  23. I think it's a natural progression of what I mentioned earlier; MLF let 12 get away too much, never really challenged him on anything he did or said. In some sense, I get it to an extent, but you are still the head coach. Now, 12 has decided it's all on him for the team to succeed. Far too often, he is talking about people not doing their jobs, but never says anything like 'myself included'. D Coordinators have figured out how to stop them, like they always do to systems that don't change much in 4 years.
