Shall we count the number of posts made about Notre Dame made by the people who dislike them, os say people don’t care about them? Have to admit you are getting a bit carried away with this. Relevance is both positive and negative, and Notre Dame is getting a shit ton more attention on this forum than any other program. That equates to relevance.

I get the idea of pressuring them to join a conference. But everyone of those commissioners knows full well how far fetched that notion is. There is a fine line between pressure and collusion if it ever got to that point. If all 4 exclude them, then what conference do they join? Do you really think anyone would settle for Notre Dame in the Mountain West, AAC, MAC, or any of the other sub P4 conferences? Because if the P4 lock them out, that eliminates the chance of them joining any of those 4.

To clarify….something I actually learned, the Group of Five is simply the highest ranked five conference champions get in the playoff. I admit I used the think the P4 and G5 were two completely different groups, but they are not. I get what you are saying though; that there should be a level between the FCS and FBS levels. @Muda69 often brings up something similar to what soccer in Europe has as far as a system of promotion and relegation.

I think when you look at the high number of states that have it already, the NFHS has taken a hands off approach and will leave accountability up to each state association.

While I don’t disagree with what you ate saying, she was fired which is the reason the whole thing came to light now. He was her boss and because of that, she has all the control. No chance anything further can happen to her. Her reputation will suffer some, but that is it.

While they do get favored treatment for next season, every person on that committee, including the ACC and SEC Commissioners agreed to it. That said, way too much is being made of it this early, because it becomes a moot point and will no longer apply when the field is expanded to 16 teams for next season.

Agreed. But keep in mind, that money is just for getting in the playoff. Each time one of those teams advances, it's an additional $4 Million, I believe. I agree.....but with qualifiers, it will be 16. It's kind of funny seeing people go crazy about the ND agreement for next year. It's based on a 12 team format. I have no doubt it will be 16.

Some things to consider. I have been bothered by the ACC's approach leading up to the selection, and have felt that ESPN itself was participating in that. This breakdown furthers my claim. I am not posting this as a defense of Notre Dame not getting selected, just a general issue with what ESPN has become.
