Enough of the random politics......damn. There is a forum for that. Post at will there.

I am a big fan of his as well, but do think it is time. I really don't want to see him hang on too long like Lee Corso has.

Jimmy is retiring. I was never a fan of him as a coach. he was the head coach of two of the teams I hated more than any, The Hurricanes and the Cowboys. But as a coach, watching him break things down over the years, I gained a level of respect for him. A friend of mine who is a Cowboys fan and I have this conversation often, that had Jerry been able to keep his ego in check and allow Jimmy to stay, as loaded as that roster was, they could have set records for Super Bowl wins. There are so few coaches who have been able to keep so many egos on a roster in check, but Jimmy could. best of luck in retirement Jimmy; you will be missed, especially since it means even more Gronkowski than we have been getting in the last couple seasons.

Mason Alexander, a recent grad was a freshman at Pitt. He was killed in an accident Saturday in Fishers. From everything I am seeing, he was definitely a positive influence on everyone who knew him. RIP Mason. Prayers for his family, friends and teammates. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2025/03/02/mason-alexander-hamilton-southeastern-football-star-dies-car-accident/81057729007/?link_source=ta_first_comment&taid=67c5e9069bbc47000128e31a&fbclid=IwY2xjawIzEMdleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHWXCtAE0vdURdZXTEnYTx2T6eTl33QjNDoBWLxMAXNIgaooRraczYuvTuw_aem_5uAARNuLsnXxLsermXgdMQ

I believe this is the point that college baseball is at as well. I thought I posted it here, but the juco route is becoming more prominent in baseball as well, especially now since the NCAA recently. ruled that juco years no longer count against their eligibility rules. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18K45aaKs1/ Here is the clip about baseball. https://fb.watch/xWcZxsUHz_/?

Fife did not leave IU on good terms. I saw he is doing some color on games. I really don't see him getting back into coaching on this level. One of the reasons he was let go is because he was very vocal with recruits and parents about his hatred of NIL. While we all may agree with him, it does not translate to being a solid or reliable approach for recruiting. Woodson had told him to stop doing it, but he did not. Similar to other coaches who have left other programs in other sports, I have a feeling Fife puts himself in the same boat of not wanting to coach in the current environment.

My concern is what the players have been seen doing in their down time. They spend too much time on social media. They are seen in the local bars at all hours into the early mornings. They may have caught lightning in a bottle. And maybe/hopefully the players have chosen themselves to reign in the nonsense.

Clean game last night. Granted Washington is not good, but IU needs games like that. They are playing well late in the year and nothing like the team we saw for most of the season. They are playing smart; fewer bad shots taken, taking care of the basketball, fewer bad fouls, and better play in the paint. If they can continue to play like that, they could surprise some teams coming up. oh, and I LOVED those uniforms. I really like the cursive Indiana logo, and think it looks good on any uniform in any sport they have put it on. But last night was the best alternate uniform I can remember seeing. The ones they canceled were really bad looking. not a fan at all of the FoG line Adidas has come up with for IU.

Hamilton Heights announcement
Irishman replied to gonzoron's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Warren Township has had its own youth football program for decades now. Not sure if they still have a travel team for the 6th grade group or not. He oversees that program. He directs a program for people interested in coaching in the program, sets team schedules, organizes player selections for each team. I am not sure about other sports, but I imagine it’s a similar thing for them. With the way the title is stated, my guess is he oversees all of it. -
You spelled s**t stirrer wrong. 😀

Indiana annexes Illinois
Irishman replied to Alduflux's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Oh I know....it just all adds to the point of just how ridiculous the whole thing is; especially the legislators who voted in favor of it, including those in the committee it passed out of, and even more so that the House Speaker allowed this nonsense to even get an initial hearing. -
Navy Baseball Fear the Bones unis....pretty cool. I am not sure if the baseball team has mimicked the other football unis in the past, but these are cool.

I think most of us agree with you, but HB 1008 passed out of the Indiana House and is in the Senate. -
Indiana annexes Illinois

I was basing it on the map that was posted with proposed boundaries. -
So, you ever trust someone close to you for advice? Especially someone you might work with and see on a daily basis? Do you have a list of professionals those coaches should turn to whom you would 'deem worthy' of being asked such a question? Hang on for the merry go round ride he takes you on. 🤣

Great post by Butler U Athletics. RIP Mr. Hackman

Indiana annexes Illinois
Irishman replied to Alduflux's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I saw somewhere that Indiana would see an overall population drop by approximately 1 million people from where it is now. Illinois would see a gain of about 1 million. So it might not be an issue as far as keeping the all in format. -
Add to it that as he called himself the editor on the Facebook page, (If I recall, he included the title of editor in his email signature; not just the Facebook page edition, it implied he was the editor of this site.)he was deleting posts by other admins, people who had held admin roles for years before he arrived. He then sent a message to the admins stating they were to run any posts by him first for approval.

More than likely, yes. The opinion stated in the screenshot is based on a coach choosing to not do just one interview. That does not equate to a coach not wanting to promote his program. There are plenty of other things to do promote a program.
-
That type of post has been common. If you don't do an interview (The reality is the "interview" is a questionnaire sent in a mass email to head coaches @Coach Nowlin can back that up as well) with dt, then it equates to you not wanting to promote your program like you should.

As the kids now say....Obvi You could even add...Sus 🤣

At the beginning of this past season, he took posts from here about practically every conference preview and pasted them on his page without giving credit. He did start giving credit later and even posted links to the topics. He made a huge stink after his last departure because users were posting his content here. He sent DK a message threatening legal action if that content was not taken down. It was taken down, but then he did the exact same thing, but somehow that was ok? I have never viewed him as competition in any way. Are you promoting the game and the kids playing it? Yeah, awesome; keep promoting. You will never see any of us go so far as to say this is the premier site, ignore his page.....never.
