  1. Not a meme, I know, but this is great. Who does not want this kid on their team? lol
  2. The thing that is not really mentioned about the Wisconsin game is their awful pass coverage. PSU had guys WIDE open a LOT. Maybe these two teams play better later, but some things should still be sound; especially covering receivers.
  3. Thinking the players were reading too much off season hype like that. That said, I was not really impressed with either Penn State or Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Iowa game will be for the West title. Iowa played very well today.
  4. Penix is off....bad reads, throwing into coverages while guys are open; not moving well in the pocket to buy time. The defense has played well considering the offense has put them in horrible spots all day.
  5. Going to guess he was not set under center for a second before the snap. Since he is moving toward the line of scrimmage, he must be set for a second before the ball can be snapped. It's a judgment call by the officials as to whether he was set long enough or not.
  6. I am not sure if Angola has them available during the season, but they feed us pork burgers after the scrimmage there every other year. They are really good.
  7. Just ahead of Manti Teo's girlfriend's team? 😄
  8. @temptation You called it
  9. Nope.......there is no governing body for junior high athletics in Indiana. While schools do often hire IHSAA officials, and say they follow the IHSAA rules for the game; there is no requirement to do so.
  10. Locking the topic...way too much nonsense in what should have just been a direct message to start with.
  11. Not sure why the link I posted looks funky; trying it again.
  12. I still go back to his interview with John Gruden. That was hard to watch. I distinctly remember one point when Gruden had a pass play on the screen against Oregon in the championship. Coach asked him what his key was on the play. He said well, coach told me to look left first then throw to the post route. Granted, it was obvious he did not have a deep understanding of the game, but guys have made it in the league without that (one of the funnier Brett Favre stories when Holmgren was breaking down the defense in a qb film session he says, you can see here they have an extra safety, so they are in nickel. He leans to Brunnell and says what does that mean?). I was a fan of his. I loved the personality, but admit it appears something is off in recent years. He is still an impressive athlete and can still make plays with some great throws or great speed.
  13. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10011427-roy-johnson-fired-as-bishop-sycamore-coach-after-controversial-game-against-img?fbclid=IwAR2O4pIIqPABW3vXk8lkdv3YAn_cDDXJ0FHbEfdLJIApF9P8osZP3LKw-wU
  14. I think it is the same though......I do remember similar issues with the team back then that exist now. I did see a post on Bleacher Report that the head coach was fired.
  15. I agree, but feel IMG knew this a week ago today; and maybe knew enough or even more to say they are not playing this game; way too many red flags.
  16. I agree that ESPN does not deserve a break here; the game being on ESPN is on them. But let's not ignore the folks at IMG. Did they have game film going into the contest? If so, they should have seen PLENTY of red flags that said this would be ugly. Not hearing or reading that anyone at IMG said a thing. Did they go into the game with no film? That should have been a red flag too. This is about exposure on a big stage; even for the BS program. As someone said even bad publicity is still publicity.
  17. Online Charter.......no oversight whatsoever; no accountability for a thing they do; yet setting up a school like this is possible in so many states; including Indiana. There was actually an attempt recently in this part of the State. State legislators there MIGHT step up and do something, but they will not want to as it would open the door for greater accountability in other charters and online schools.
  18. A friend sent me this article. I did not know the young man, but wanted to share knowing this community would show their support. Prayers to the Buckley family as well as the Western team and school community. https://www.kokomotribune.com/sports/football-western-deals-with-grief-after-buckleys-death/article_4d1f9d72-053b-11ec-95ce-8f7d3eeeac3b.html
  19. The Packers sat 31 players today; typical for this pre season. I had been somewhat hesitant of the approach, but seeing key players dropping on other teams, I am ok with it. Add to it an additional regular season game, and wear and tear has to be a concern.
