  1. In a letter to school families, East Noble HS is going 100% virtual from the 26th through the 31st this month. All extra curricular activities have been canceled for that span of time as well.
  2. 82% here.....which is amazing considering how often the island had been invaded.
  3. Read this in your best Cliff Clavin voice Actually Nohm, there was a point in time when the term "fighting Irish" was a derogatory term. It referred to the Irish units in the military during the Civil War. The Irish gained quite a reputation for getting drunk while in camp and fighting as much among themselves as they did in battles.
  4. I am sure at some point this will be frequent enough that we stop posting when endorsements happen often, but this is the first I am aware of for an IU athlete. I did not realize there was still a Merchants Bank.
  5. For future reference, there is a topic pinned at the top for posting updates. And this one was already posted there. Thanks
  6. yep, still true, and yes, feel free to ask the question on the regular forum, this is not the responsibility of game officials to track.
  7. This sucks...the perfect counter to balance the personalities of Mick and Keith RIP Charlie https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/aug/24/rolling-stones-drummer-charlie-watts-dies-aged-80?fbclid=IwAR1AvU6GUD85eY6VDD1lvRh-4rznpeaLRur7l3s8_qGD31KH1CCF1jLJQyI&scrlybrkr=5496b0fa
  8. Whew!!!!! I read the topic title and was a bit nervous. 🤣 Did not know if it was about steaming veggies, slacks, or "other" sites. 🤣
  9. Try reading this as if Cliff Clavin is saying it lol Actually Norm, the color green was not an official color for the Packers until Lambeau was forced out at the end of the 49 season. Being a Notre Dame grad, he borrowed the original blue and gold from there….funny how that happened; Halas did the same with Bears colors being the same and the University of Illinois; Paul Brown did the same as well, using Bowling Green’s colors. I wonder if there are others? The Packers only on occasion wore green, again following what Notre Dame did. But yes, that green was closer to kelly green. The 50’s unis were a brighter green than what we see today. Under Lombardi, they went to a darker green, and have stayed relatively close to that since. on a side note, I was painting segments of my basement in team colors of my favorite teams. If you plan to do that, Sherwin Williams does the best job of matching color, by FAR. They will not hesitate to call a store in the town you are looking for, in this case, Green Bay, to ask the mixture for team colors. They are actually standard colors in the store, Goldfinch for the yellow, and hunter Green. They look fantastic on my wall. Don’t you think?
  10. This follow up interview is really good too https://www.wane.com/high-school-sports/from-bishop-luers-to-barstool-sports-nelson-knapkes-interview-goes-viral/?fbclid=IwAR3GkGspKwaou5bN2xb_CraaMR57Iu2-ykCyATjSb0vSqhB53nmTKbP4RxU
  11. yep...HATE the Cubs unis....don't even like the "Wrigleyville" on them. North Siders would have been cool, but better colors. They look too much like the Titans colors
  12. No doubt, but this team is one the top teams as far as sales of team merch goes. But all teams do something along these lines. The absolute worst was the Bucs (all red) and the Rams (all yellow) a few years ago. I got a headache watching that.
  13. Not horrible looking, but it does look a LOT like an Oregon uniform. I am a huge fan of the white jersey/white pants combo from the last couple seasons. The green pants here might look cool with the white jersey though.
  14. The persuasion likely does happen. My perspective is that as long as the kid is out every day and is trying, doing all the work his teammates are, then he deserves my best. If kids like that stick it out for 4 years, who knows what can happen? I have had a LOT of kids over the years that worked themselves into starting roles by their senior year. I also see kids that never became starters, but did become coaches after college, so there is that to consider as well. There is no clearer sign to me that a program had an impact on a kid than to see them give back as coaches.
  15. Yep...I would add to that in a lot of public programs, that ONE kid who has played QB (or any other position, but QB carries the most responsibility) for a few years in youth league and in junior high at times will pick other sports instead of football. So, someone has to be developed who has never played. The likely candidate would be a kid who may have been a back up possibly quit before his freshman year because he was just a back up. As far as the Frankfort Chatard comparison, I would say don't judge so harshly. We are a 4A program and have that as an issue as well. The high number of move ins and just kids trying the game for the first time are factors that a program cannot control.
  16. There were usually letters to the editor that had the same complaints/concerns for years; usually after the playoffs were over.
  17. Have not read posts in a while, buts saw this was still going....made me think of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRJ38y4Jn6k
  18. As the basketball coach in "Movie 43" says......"this ain't HOCKEY!!" 😄
  19. To add to it...and yes, I don't want to detract too far, but contact tracing is just a measure to determine who was close to a student who tested positive for a given amount of time. If the tracing shows that a student was not close to a student long enough, they are not quarantined.
