I love how I pulled up all the H2H records of the 2 conferences and proved that top to bottom the SIAC and PAC have been pretty even over the last 10 years…

Did you type this with a straight face?
One can only wonder why GS fans and coaches were so excited about the new PAC alignment so they could finally strengthen their schedule.

Vincennes Lincoln - The new Mater Dei -- take your beatings during the regular season to make you better in the tournament. Helps they are in the easiest sectional, but still two steps away (or more) from being a true state competitor.

Only a drunk would have thought this. Be glad you are in a conference that below average HH teams look great finishing 2nd.

    Actually I looked it up.

    In the last 10 years…

Mater Dei is 2-3 vs Southridge

Memorial is 1-0 vs Heritage Hills and 3-3 with Gibson Southern

that’s the top of each conference…6-6 is what you got…

so let’s look at the rest of the SIAC….

North 2-1 vs Princeton 😂 lol tigers

Bosse is 9-8 against Pike Central, Princeton, and Washington.

The best things you got going for you is that Mater Dei is like 13-0 against Forest Park and South Spencer and Jasper before they joined you was 10-6 vs Southridge and Heritage Hills

So yes @Screagle, I’ll say it with a straight face because outside of 2 state championships from memorial…you guys can brag that 2A powerhouse Mater Dei is undefeated against 2 teams that have combined to go 66-143 over the last 10 years.

Let’s not cut Memorial short.  5 trips to state finals under Hurley is the most impressive stat in SW Indiana football.

The best thing GS has is the success factor that allowed you to dodge Memorial and Chartard last season.  😂

I mean….812 is a SIAC guy.  I wonder why he would rank 4 SIAC teams ahead of Heritage hills despite them not doing much the last 10 years or more

its even more obvious when you consider Jasper is a new member to the SIAC, is 16-2 in 2 years and reigning conference champs….and he has them ranked 6th

    like…..LOL

to join the SIAC go 16-2 only losing to memorial and central in year 1 and nobody else year 2….and they are ranked 6th for the conference

Because 4th and 5th place in SIAC is weighted more than 2nd or 3rd in PAC.

Remember Kurt wilderman that played at ind st and he went to mater dei and he was under 6'2 so if he can play at fcs level than I know mason Wunderlich can plus he's at mater dei and at 6'5 if he improves someone will take a chance on him.

No question he will get an opportunity.

Gotta remember athletes haven't sign yet  so season hasn't started yet so he still has time.if he has a great season he should get some offers.

I don’t doubt he can but it’s not a good sign if you’re a senior to be with no offers on the table.  Not doubting the kid but that’s reality.

He may not be on the Brady Allen level but he's at least fcs. as long as you can move in pocket  you don't have to be super athletic just be accurate.

Not saying he can’t play at that level but most D1 FCS or FBS seniors to be already have offers on the table.

That young man  may not had any offers when they released there list idk.all it takes is 1 offer then next thing you know you can blow up.indiana prep zone doesn't update rankings every week or bi weekly.recruits gotta send their highlights film to them to be evaluated unless someone tells Indiana prep zone about a specific athlete.

Indiana Prep Zone is not where coaches look for kids. They don’t look at any recruiting services either. They want kids at their camps and they want to see kids compete in different sports.  Highlight film works to get their attention but very few use highlights as an important recruiting tool. You want looks, go to that teams camp and go early and often.

You mentioned the Wunderlick kid was being recruiting by Wisconsin. Is he going into his senior year? Does he have an offer on the table from any level?  All players going into senior year without an offer have a really good chance of never getting an offer or a very late small school offer.

Herdes was hurt though .he had a decent soph year.   As far as brasher I'm glad he didn't leave  north cuz north  because  north  is going to challenge for siac the next 2 to 3 years. north coach building something out there  watch.

I feel North is talented most years. Have to find a way to get over the 5 win hump. Seems like they had a really good group a couple years back and then the wheels came off 2nd half. I think not knowing how to handling success hurt that group.

Not sure how much stock you can put in these rankings.  They have Herdes as the 8th QB in the class of '23, yet he completed only 41% of his throws, 1 TD and 8 Ints, and a QB rating of 32 (stats courtesy of MaxPreps).  And he was replaced in the line up by a Freshman last season.

    Yep

Here are some recruits right now in siac that have potential to play fbs or fcs. 2024 Antonio Harris wr castle, Peyton guerzini rb 2023 castle, darrion Stewart Central de, da'shon Stewart of central 2024, Asher horn 2023 cb Harrison, 2025 Brooks Thomas TE Harrison,  mason Wunderlich 2023 qb mater dei , 2024 Porter rode rb memorial, 2023 Leo Collins memorial, Edward hartig 2023 memorial,  kelton farmer 2023 de memorial, drew weinzapel 2023 de, 2024 donvantae Baker wr/rb memorial, north has 2023 Angelo st Louis rb,2025 Benjamin brasher ol, 2025 Bryant Reeves ol, 2024 cainen northington cb, 2024 Jayden hayzlewood dt 2024 k Alex hess rietz  has 2023 Xavier Thomas wr,cb 2024 Hayden summers wr,cb, 2024 Roland vera Jr wr, 2024 de Caleb Utley I forgot rietz k to can't think of his name. Those ones stand out.  Sleepers who have potential to. I like jasper cb 2023 Brayden Blair .

Do any of the 2023 kids listed have an offer besides Hartig?  Collins has Valpo but it’s a non athletic scholarship school.
Not to be argumentative but are these kids all being legitimately recruited or is this based on opinion looking at their skill set and or size?
The Brasher kid tried to transfer/enroll at Memorial and was told he wouldn’t even receive limited participation if he left.

Back in  90s a lot of athletes were going div 1.so I think there's div1 talent were 3rd largest city if new Palestine can get 2 to 4 kids to go div 1 then how the siac can't come on.

I just don’t recall a time when the siac had a lot of football players playing D1.  I think there are 5 maybe 6 right now and that seems like more than usual.

Before I get to that a lot of athletes seems like aren't dm coaches with their film, like ncsasports.org that's the site that everyone on for recruiting .players have to dm coaches consistently and have a wide range of schools.i say like 50 to 100 schools they need to dm at first.some don't have Twitter either .over 125 fbs and fcs schools  so that's 250 schools in USA .Some might be grades to. Try to go higher than NAIA,div 3,div2  schools. So talent here but that's what athletes for football gotta do.really need to be on coaches radar by beginning your junior year to have a shot at going div 1. recruits need to dm coaches 8th grade , freshman year.

I think coaches and players do a great job of creating film and contacting schools/coaches.  In todays world of technology, film and contact info is readily available. The siac has a couple D1 kids some years with lots of naia and D2 kids most years.

In my opinion north and rietz will be the most improved in siac.rietz will be the fastest team in the siac.north has some talent on the line especially super soph Benjamin brasher.they have some div 1 talent fcs talent so watch out.im not sold on jasper as to me they take a step back.super soph Brooks Thomas will be a div 1 talent .mater dei and memorial probably right 1 and 2 but I think rietz will be in the mix to.watch out for Angelo st Louis of north have a big season. My favorite wr div 1 talent is Antonio Harris of castle a junior and is special a game breaker.bosse my school so I hope we can get better more kids to come out.jaiden Thomas is pretty good for bosse to.watch out for rietz junior Caleb Utley I believe he's a div 1 talent and north Jayden Hazelwood a junior both de/ dt.i like Hayden summers wr for rietz to watch out for him . obviously Porter rode is a div 1 talent.Memorial probably has most talent ol,dl in siac with potential div 1 prospects in weinzapel,Cassidy, farmer, obviously hartig.im ready for football.

Double digit D1 FBS/FCS prospects? Curious as to how many of the above mentioned currently have an offer besides Hartig? That would be more D1 kids than the last 10 years combined.

today, I think we'll be seeing Ellspermann holding down QB1.  But I wouldn't be at all surprised to see some mixing it up -- as was done with Lindauer and Stepto as wildcat.  I think it would be hard to just keep Fisher on the bench.

Fisher didn’t take a snap last night. On the DL for 3 weeks.  I can see Ellsperman leading the team in rushing yards and attempts as Lindauer did. I think running opportunities will be a big part of the offensive scheme for Caleb.

  16. The Rhode kid looked outstanding tonight in Memorials 7 v 7 11 v 11.
New Pal, Castle, and Boonville. Memorials Leo Collins could be a problem and the OL looked as advertised.  New Pal really stood out with size and athletes all over.  Castle going to have growing pains at QB but D looked sharp.
