  1. Impartial Observer hit the nail on the head. They need someone they can pull strings with and control. There are some really good coaches at FC that wanted the job. Someone told me that there was a pretty well known former HHC football coach interested. However, the NAFCS school board sucks. They want someone who can also be a school administrator(Assistant Principal.) They don’t really give a shit about Athletics in Floyd County anymore unless it’s New Albany basketball. I hope we keep Coach Bragg for as long as possible because after his era is over, I have serious doubts they’d find a good replacement. There were some damn good candidates in that pool too. At least 3-4 guys that I know for a fact would be amazing.
  2. You should explain it to me. That’s a State Law.
  3. I don’t remember doing that anytime recently. And If I have then yes, I’ve woke up recently.
  4. Not necessarily Football related, but Charlestown HS Principal Bill Eihusen was named the Principal at Floyd Central today. The AD spot is still open. However I have heard some promising news on that end. That should wrap up at the next school board meeting.
  5. Honestly, If I think I can do better, I should apply for it.
  6. I am someone who used to complain about officials. Whether as an athlete, or as a spectator. One day I woke up and realized, that these guys sacrifice a lot to do this. Time and travel. It doesn’t pay all that well. Without officials, no HS sports spectating for me. I will take a few bad or more likely, “missed” calls against my team, if that keeps HS sports running on the tracks.
  7. Yeah I like Joe. I know the Witten family. They passed on a lot of good candidates for that guy. But that was the School Board that hired him. Too much Bulldog pride on the School Board right now.
  8. Let me get the tape measure out boys.
  9. I didn’t know if you all heard but the Floyd Central AD position is open again. Maybe they’ll hire someone who actually knows something about sports instead of an administrative person this time. I already miss Jeff Cerqueria. I did recommend Impartial Observer for the job but apparently he declined when they refused to offer him a 7 figure salary.
  10. As one of the biggest Floyd Central homers around, even I’m having a hard time going with that 5A prediction. We’ve never even won a Regional. I need to see that happen first.
  11. That’s a lot to text just to disagree with me. Lol. Regardless, Gaddis was great. No doubt about that.
  12. Not many coaches in Indiana history that are in that conversation. He was like High School Cignetti.
  13. Bragg is a better coach than Glesing IMO. Braggs teams actually play defense and can throw the ball effectively.
  14. No kidding. Coach Bragg is the only coach in Floyd Central history that has won more than 1 sectional. He’s won 2 of the last 3 Conference Championships. He has a good chance to win his 3rd conference title and 3rd sectional this season. And hopefully their 1st regional, finally. It’s fair to say that they aren’t on the level of top 7-8 5A programs. I don’t think they can even be considered a top 10 5A program, and I’m not super high on 5A football. But what he has done is he has maintained a level of consistency and competitiveness in our region. There is definitely still a long ways to go to be considered amongst the top 5A programs.
  15. I’m guessing so. He’s also their #1 WR. He’s probably the best pound for pound athlete in the school. Starting Catcher. Starting wing in basketball. He’s just one of those guys. He was the QB from 5th grade to JV. Switched to WR because they had Jack Mull. In the Sectional Championship game it was so foggy that passing was extremely hard. They put him in at QB and he gashed Evansville North with the QB run. If it weren’t for him, North wins that game. Unless they have someone else I don’t know about, then he’s probably the guy.
  16. I wouldn’t say a poor job at all. Most programs in this part of the state would hire Coach B in a heartbeat. We’ll see man. This years team has a ton of returning players. This was a vaunted class. They didn’t lose a game from 5th grade to Freshman. They actually beat St X by 3 TDs. They need to get past the Sectional this season. Jackson Stone at QB will be a little more electric than what they’ve had recently.
  17. I agree. I do think Coach Bragg is pretty solid coach. I just think they’re still trying to establish a mentality there. It’s not a physical thing. Look what Cignetti did at Indiana.
  18. I think they’ll have a good chance to beat Whiteland at home this season. I know what the score looked like last season but they fumbled on the first play of the game at the 25 and then the next time Whiteland had the ball they punted and FC muffed it at the 20. They have plenty of talent, size, and speed here. They beat 2 decent teams in the Sectional. The issue is, they seem to piss down their leg against top teams. Bloomington South smacked us around and I promise you, the talent gap isn’t as big as the final score indicated.
  19. That’s fair. I’m just excited about this Non-Conference schedule, the inclusion of Bloomington South, and some quality HCs that were hired. Nobody likes watching 47-7 games if it’s not against a good team.
  20. I realize the river schools will never get much love from you guys in the central. This coming from the same guy that thinks FC losing their #8 WR is gonna set them back.
  21. I agree with this take. But Floyd Central should dominate the HHC this season. Their pipeline is looking pretty good too from what I’ve heard. I wasn’t a big fan of that Vogel guy so a new coach at East may flip them back towards the top of their region.
  22. I’m not sure about the contract situation? I can ask Coach B the next time I see him. I don’t remember him and I follow them pretty intently. They’re pretty loaded this season so I think they’ll be fine. Where did he transfer to?
  23. He didn’t even play last year. Lol. That team is like 6-7 deep at WR. Probably the deepest position on the entire team.
