  1. That guy is likely to get a penalty for improper coverage on the knees.
  2. I imagine not if it was across from those LCC teams with Cronk and Jackson on them.
  3. Field should be pretty much like playing on turf. Weather looks like very minimal chance of precipitation (2-5%). To get an idea of field condition, you can take a look at https://www.maxpreps.com/in/lafayette/lafayette-central-catholic-knights/football/media/videos/ and select the Rochester game. LCC played away this past Friday.
  4. Mea culpa! There are some similarities in you and Donnie ... you just don't swear to God as much. I swear to God you don't. BTW, I just noticed a copy/paste error when I did LCC's completion rate which is a tad over 63%.
  5. I've seen LCC play a couple of times this year and I think what you are saying is the part that's hardest to prep for ... stopping/limiting the big play. LCC's kick return hasn't been all that good this season, although it has been consistent. Up until the Rochester game, LCC's longest kick return was 26 yards. Against Rochester, they pulled a 71-yarder. Similarly, LCC pulls a couple one- or two-play drives that are big in either sparking the team or taking the wind out of an opponent. Outside of the 3A teams that LCC faced this year, Guerin, West Lafayette, and Heights, they've been able to hit those big plays as well as just standard movement ... Metzger tends to be 100 plus rating when not playing 3A opponents. I like LCC's odds on the passing side of things if Metzger's on. Comparing to the LaVille passing opponents: Bremen - QB rating of 100.4 with completion rate of 56.5% ... not including the second loss to LaVille. Scored a TD roughly every 6.7 completions. Roughly 2,190 yards on 11 games. Glenn - QB rating of 60.4 with completion rate of 50.2% ... not including the loss to LaVille. Scored a TD roughly every 9.5 completions. Roughly 1,150 yards on 11 games. Andrean - QB rating of 88.5 with a completion rate of roughly 56%. Scored a TD roughly every 11.5 completions. Roughly 1,700 yards on 10 games. Metzger's comparison is QB rating of roughly 108 with completion rate of 50.2% not including second Seeger game. Scored a TD roughly every 6.9 completions. Roughly 2,540 yards on 11 games. Four receivers with 300 or more yards a game and a total of over a dozen targets for the season. If LaVille can shut down the pass, then that puts LCC in a bind ... although most teams think about shutting down the pass being with their secondary and LCC's really good at exploiting LB coverage and screens, so the linebackers need to be very in tune to the passing game. If, as @First_Backer_Inside mentioned, LaVille may not have the offense, it could be an issue of how many big plays LCC musters; even if LaVille can impede the passing. Incidentally, I give LCC the intangibles. As @Donnie Baker says, that west endzone at LaRocca is good for an 8-point advantage and LCC will have played three of four tournament games at LaRocca come Friday night. The field should be in really nice condition for a grass field ... and the LCC receivers will be quite aware of the parts that give and the parts that don't.
  6. Has LaVille played anyone with a passing game like LCC's?
  7. Also, to all the kids who played their last football game last night, given that only somewhere around 10% of high school football players continue on to play college football, I hope the overall experience brought you all the best from teamwork, to new friends, to learning more about yourself and personal growth. Yes, there are those who relive the plays of their high school days, like Uncle Rico, but most remember the friends and the personal growth long after the scores and records are forgotten. Good luck to you guys on the next thing that life brings you.
  8. That still doesn't preclude the @BTF's opinion that you had them ranked too high.
  9. DC kills the last 4:30 minutes. DC 34 - Harrison 17. Final.
  10. Harrison punts the ball down 17 with 4:30 left in game. Not sure of the strategy on that.
  11. Decatur Central pulling away. PAT blocked. DC 34 - Harrison 17 with 6 minutes left in game.
  12. Decatur Central scores on first drive of second half. Leads Harrison 28 - 17 with 6 minutes left in Q3.
  13. Harrison misses a last second field goal. Half ends 21 - 17 Decatur Central. DC will receive to start the second half.
  14. Harrison forces a punt and takes just 45 seconds to score. 21-17 Decatur Central. 1:47 left in half.
  15. Decatur Central slicing up Harrison's defense. 21 - 10 with 6 minutes left in half.
  16. Harrison with a short field goal. Trails Decatur Central 14-10 with 9 minutes left in half.
  17. Harrison coughs up the ball in their own territory and Decatur Central makes them pay for it. 14-7 Decatur Central with 19 seconds left in Q1.
  18. Decatur Central ties it up at 7. 1:12 left in Q1.
  19. Harrison without two big offensive weapons. Recovers a muffed punt and draws first blood. 7-0 over Decatur Central. 8 minutes left in first quarter.
  20. Thus leaving Elba as their only remaining destination.
  21. There's the GID predictor here: http://predictor.gridirondigest.net/ There's also Calpreps here: https://www.calpreps.com/cgi-bin/2023/project_matchup.pl Of course, you can do it old school using Sagarin here: http://sagarin.com/sports/hsfsend.htm
  22. Unless it had a p/p flavor to it ... then they'd just keep beating it.
  23. 2 Point Games Hanover Central @ West Lafayette Bishop Chatard @ Hamilton Heights Central Catholic @ Seeger Fishers @ Hamilton Southeastern Mishawaka @ Concord Harrison @ Decatur Central Kokomo @ Mississinewa Mooresville @ Brebuf Jesuit Winchester @ Eastern Hancock Park Tudor @ North Vermillion North Decatur @ Milan North Judson @ Triton
  24. Maybe in 6A, but I think the guys in 5A still look at the sectional as something to be achieved. Sectional 13, in 5A South, is not an easy pick and may turn out to be one of the more interesting sectionals.
  25. Hope he's not too sore after that beating last night. Lord, I apologize for that there.
