Looks like the victims' list is about twice as long as the multi-offenders' list. Is that good or bad?

Had a game one season where were were up 6-0 going into the last couple minutes of the game. The other team got down to around our 30 or so and were all excited that they might end up pulling this one out at the end of the game. They tried a pitch that got stripped by the tackle and the defensive end picked it up for a scoop and score; pretty much icing the game. Their coach, who was a friend of mine, says to me, joking and smiling as he's walking off the field, "You suck." He thought he said it low enough so it was just him and me partaking in the joke, but one of my players says, "What'd he say coach?" The other coach and I froze for a minute as the kids weren't supposed to hear it. I then looked down to the player and said, "He said that I'm such a good coach." The kid nodded and ran down the field for the conversion and my friend and I gave each other that look like, "Looks like he bought it."

They've got Guerin, at home, last game of the season. That one will easily be worth the price of admission.

LCC 17 - RCHS 6. Final.

LCC defense comes through again stuffing RCHS on consecutive 3rd-and-1 and 4th-and-one plays. That will likely do it for this one. Just waiting for the clock to run out. LCC up 17-6.

Heritage defeats Tipton 21 - 7. Final

RCHS finally gets on the board tonight on a short field after LCC punt into the wind. RCHS goes for 2, but fails. LCC still leads 14-6 with 3:32 left in Q3. Harrison 26 - Marion 6. Final.

Apparently LCC defense wasn't just up for the West Lafayette game last week. RCHS has been inside the 5 twice tonight, including 4-and-goal from the 1 and come away with no points. LCC still up 14-0 toward end of Q3.

Heritage still 14 - 0 start of Q4.

Harrison widens the gap with Marion 36 - 6 with 8:23 left in the game. LCC and RCHS go to the half with LCC ahead 14-0. Heritage over Tipton 14-0 with 8:27 left in Q3. Twin Lakes 55 - Benton Central 0. Final.

Tipton and Heritage tied at 0 after first quarter.

LCC up 14-0 over RCHS with 17 seconds in Q1. Twin Lakes with a running clock to start 2nd half against Benton Central 42-0.

Kokomo sided with the folks who voted Harrison and McCutcheon out of the NCC citing size and travel distance. If Kokomo were now to decide that they didn't like the NCC, it would be an interesting irony.

Not sure an act of God will slow down the Catholics. Metzger will just wave his hand over the mid-field and the rains will part for the receivers. And, if that doesn't work, they'll just keep giving the ball to Meister.

That would then, assuming Harrison and McCutcheon hold a grudge, make the vote 2-2 at best.

If they'd swallow their pride, I could see Kokomo making a bid to join the new Sagamore, which will be Harrison, McCutcheon, Tri-West, Lebanon, and Danville, but if Harrison/McCutcheon hold a grudge, the vote might be, at best, 3-2. The joint release from McCutcheon and Harrison ADs upon joining the conference read, in part, “In joining with Danville, Lebanon and Tri-West, Harrison and McCutcheon have the opportunity to help shape the future membership of the conference.”

There's other kinds of headscratching going on with the NCC. Logansport voted to eject Harrison and McCutcheon from the NCC and then bolted themselves for the Hoosier Conference right after that. Richmond cast a vote to eject Harrison and McCutcheon citing size and travel distances, yet kept Jeff. For Richmond, by Google Maps, the drive to Harrison is a minute more than the drive to Jeff. The drive to McCutcheon is two minutes less than the drive to Jeff. Based on sizes, Harrison is now 2169 up from 2079, Jeff is 2034 down from 2153, and McCutcheon is 1786 down from 1807. Richmond is 1320 down slightly from 1327. Probably need to bring back the "Who you crappin?" thread again. As to Jeff's vote to eject Harrison and McCutcheon, we can only speculate, but I'm pretty sure that it's not size and distance as Harrison and McCutcheon both seemed to have made their way on to Jeff's schedule again this season.

Not sure of the exact numbers, but I believe it's a few. It's not like the older days of the 4-peat teams where you might only have one guy playing both ways. The plan though, in the program, is still built around freshness. Instead of having 11 first-stringers and playing them both ways, building up closer to two teams of first-stringers so each side gets an opportunity to get a break. There are roughly 53 kids rostered for their varsity, but that also includes JV numbers, so there's some considerations on game day of just who plays to make sure there are enough for the JV game ... no small feat given that LCC's JV schedule this year has included Harrison, McCutcheon, and West Lafayette.

The other part of that equation is that Harrison, McCutcheon, and Logansport are now all gone from the NCC. It may end up on life support for football in the not-too-distant future unless they can get some other teams in there. Jeff, is sitting at 5-0, but the rest of the conference is rounded out with Marion at 3-2 and the remaining four teams with just 1 or 0 wins. Of the folks that departed/kicked out ... Harrison, who moved up to 6A, is sitting at 3-2, McCutcheon is sitting at 2-3, and Logansport is sitting at 4-1 with its only loss coming in squeaker to LCC 23-21. Logansport, despite voting out Harrison and McCutcheon, and then departing themselves for the Hoosier Conference, and Jeff, who voted out Harrison and McCutcheon and moved down to 5A, seemed to have benefited from the re-orgs.

I don't know about others, but I'm happy to see Richmond getting some scores. Richmond hasn't had a winning season since 2013, and only three wins in the last three seasons. Nonetheless, the players/coaches and fans/parents got a chance to have some opportunities to cheer even though they lost.
