  1. I actually had hair back then. Quite a bit. 😂 Nope. That’s a midfielder. They typically have short attention spans.
  2. It’s been around a long time, as this picture (see if you can guess which one is me) demonstrates. Taken in March 1974 at Colorado College after a practice during our Spring break trip.
  3. They might not be the only ones. https://fanrecap.com/alabama-could-be-in-need-of-a-portal-quarterback-as-quarterbacks-struggle-in-spring-game/?e_md5=1e02225af49ad0be3120865555561d90&e_sha1=051978e291985cdd0ec9cc258f98f6b089562c64&e_sha256=b74005a06302105d83296b1fdb7837512e942f838ae65e46623a3cef23245cbc
  4. That’s an interesting viewpoint. I completely understand it. But I’ll bet there are some people with allegiances similar to yours who will be rooting for the Buckeyes in that game. The better OSU’s record, the more impressive if Michigan beats them at the end of the year.
  5. Clock continues to run after 1st downs except inside of 2 mins in a half.
  6. I don’t know about now, but when her big album came out I was still in college. That album cover was very popular for a couple of reasons. 😉
  7. I hope it’s blackmail. Provides better grist for the GID mill. 🤣
  8. I was under the impression that IHSAA rules require a minimum number of regular season games to be eligible to participate in the tournament. But in a quick scan of the Bylaws and last year’s Fall Bulletin, I could only find a rule that says the maximum number of games you can play before the tournament is nine. Perhaps I was thinking of the requirement in the officials’ application to work the tournament that you must work at least four regular season games to be eligible.
  9. You still haven’t gotten around to answering the original question. Let me phrase it a little differently. You make rules in an attempt to accomplish a purpose. What purpose of Indiana high school football is served by excluding a school from the tournament for this reason?
  10. And there’s the rub. In effect, the IHSAA would be saying “You have to play 5 games against IHSAA members, but we can’t force anyone to play you who doesn’t want to.” How is that workable?
  11. Sounds like circular reasoning to me. “Schools should have to play the majority of their games against IHSAA member schools in order to play in the IHSAA tournament. Why? Because in my opinion they should.” So, I’ll ask again. Why should there be such a requirement? As long as a school is an IHSAA member in good standing, and the IHSAA maintains a “hands-off” approach to regular season scheduling, why should there be such a requirement?
  12. One man’s stench is another man’s perfume.
  13. Our old pal, DT, suggested something like this on Facebook through his Hoosier Prep Gridiron page: The time is ripe for Duneland Conference expansion The recent success of Valparaiso, Michigan City, Merrillville and Crown Point has put a hot new spotlight on Duneland Conference football Harrison and McCutcheon are looking for a new home following their ouster from The NCC. The Raiders are a rising soon to be 6A program and have a solid foundation under Coach Terry Peebles. McCutcheon is rebuilding and has the potential to be a contender in 5A in the future. Both schools fit the DAC blueprint in terms of competitive profile, size and focus on all sports To the East, The NIC is falling apart again as the small schools Glenn, Jimtown and Bremen are leaving to start a new conference and Clay is closing next year, Elkhart and Penn as 6A schools also fit the DAC profile and would be solid additions, making the Duneland one of the top football leagues in the state. The DAC upon expansion to 12 schools would split into divisions as follows : DAC West Division Harrison 6A McCutcheon 5A Lake Central 6A Crown Point 6A Merrillville 5A Portage 6A DAC East Division Penn 6A Elkhart 6A Michigan City 5A Laporte 5A Valpo 5A Chesterton 5A All schools would play an 8 game conference schedule, 5 intra divisional games and 3 crossovers, leaving 1 open date for non con play. The DAC is very resistant to change, Its been 20 years since Hobart left and Lake Central came in. If the Duneland is looking to build on its newly earned football status, now might be the right time to make a move, given the potential to acquire available schools who fit the conference profile and footprint. Food for thought.
  14. See, that’s the kind of deal Lamar should have. Essentially a fully-guaranteed 3 yr. deal … at which point, he can do it all over again if he wants. And he probably will, the way the salary cap is going to go up.
  15. With all the guaranteed money in the first 3 yrs., I believe.
  16. Eagles sign Jalen Hurts to a 5 yr., $255 million extension. The important part is $179 million guaranteed. If Hurts couldn’t get a fully guaranteed deal coming off a career year and MVP-worthy season, what does that tell Lamar Jackson about his holding out for a fully guaranteed Deshaun Watson-like deal?
  17. So, what are the implications of the Ravens signing OBJ for the ongoing saga with Lamar Jackson.
  18. Those are “morality issues?” “When I use a word,’ Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.’ Lewis Carroll — Through The Looking Glass
