  1. I’m not 100% sure myself. But I certainly hope it isn’t the national team .. for BD’s sake.
  2. When people think of IMG, they think of their “national” team, the one that goes everywhere. But they also have team that plays mostly other Florida schools. It’s the latter that’s coming to Indy, I believe. From the IMG website: “With three teams competing across various levels, IMG Academy football will identify which program is the best fit for prospective student-athletes grades 6-12 as well as for post-graduate players based on their age, skill level, position, and overall goals. IMG Academy is a full member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), and the National Team competes as an independent. IMG follows the practice requirements and standards issued by the FHSAA.” https://www.imgacademy.com/boarding-school/athletics/football
  3. It’s only half-repealed. Indiana teams are still only permitted to travel 300 mi. from the Indiana state line. No restrictions on who can come to Indiana, though.
  4. The SCOTUS position basically said that non-union members can have the benefits of membership without paying dues. Human nature being what it is, I figured that would sound the death knell for the public unions. I wasn’t alone. But it hasn’t worked that way … yet. https://www.manhattan-institute.org/disalvo-public-unions-money-members-since-janus-v-afscme
  5. So, if you’re an AD assessing expansion of your conference - or contemplating a move to another or creation of a new one - what are the priorities, and in what order? Revenue? Competitive issues? Geography/travel? Historic rivalries?
  6. I am a bit surprised that public sector unions are still around 4 1/2 yrs. after the SCOTUS decision in Janus v. AFSCME which held that requiring non-members to pay dues was a violation of the 1st Amendment.
  7. Nobody’s 1st head coaching job should be HFC of an NFL team trying to rebuild.
  8. And my point is, there will never be enough “proof” for those predisposed to nut job conspiracy theories.
  9. Uh-huh. Of course, this isn’t enough for the nut jobs. If he gave an interview, they’d say it was an impersonator. Fingerprints? DNA? They’d just say the results were fixed. Crazies gonna crazy.
  10. What more is required? DNA? I saw him on TV, as did millions of people. https://apnews.com/article/buffalo-bills-cincinnati-bengals-nfl-sports-football-ae41d5baace672bd347e6e146400f11d
  11. Prediction: No matter what he or anyone else says or does, the lunatic fringe won’t let it go.
  12. Don’t encourage the crazies.
  13. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, given what America has now become. But some guy posted this on Facebook with the comment “Damar Hamlin is actually dead and the NFL is covering it up.” His theory is that “the vaccine killed him, and if you got vaccinated, it’ll eventually kill you, too.” I am not making this up. 14. Perhaps because we’re trying to teach kids fundamentals … including the fundamentals of good sportsmanship and an attitude that focuses on team rather than individuals, since we know that likely none of those kids is ever going to make a living playing football.
  15. Thought you would want to know. Ohio State has offered 2 of St. Ed’s offensive lineman in the class of 2024. They’re twins! How cool is that? Guess they’ll have a pretty good O-line coming back next year. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football-recruiting/2023/01/136883/the-hurry-up-ohio-state-offers-in-state-offensive-linemen-and-twin-brothers-deontae-and-devontae As always, it’s a great day to be an Eagle!
  16. Actually, it wasn’t. Single digit wind velocity all day. https://www.localconditions.com/weather-buffalo-new-york/14201/past.php
  17. The way the Bengals came out against Buffalo, I think KC is going to have to score 4 TDs to have a chance to win. And with Mahomes hobbled, I don’t see that happening. Of course, they say whether is the great equalizer. Forecast is for game time temps in the teens, but only moderate winds. Without wind to bother Burrow, they may end up curb stomping the Chiefs if they get out in front early.
  18. Looks like Cincy is about to open up a can on the Bills.
  19. I certainly ran my share of gassers in the old days. And I confess there were a couple of times my stomach turned inside out. But this is different. One of these kids was hospitalized with Rhabdomyolysis, which occurs when the breakdown of damaged muscle tissue releases waste products into the bloodstream, overwhelming the kidneys. It’s potentially fatal.
  20. The “barrier” starts at the state line, not Indianapolis. 10-1.1 Out-of-State Contest Limitations Member Schools may only participate in an out-of-state Contest if: a. the site or venue of a Contest is within (300) miles from the Indiana State line;
  21. They need a true #1 WR. That’s a lot to ask of someone they get in the draft.
