  1. I see Carmel wearing down Merrillville like they did Homestead. Carmel is big and physical. What really impressed me about Carmel was their ability to shut down Homestead in the red zone. They did it twice in the first half. Maybe that was the strategy.............don't give up the big play (although Homestead did almost score on first play from scrimmage) and tighten up in the red zone. Same score as last week.....................31-7.
  2. Lol....................what? I'm pretty sure the strength of the north will ultimately be exposed, whether it's regional or state. Your comment makes no sense.
  3. It has nothing to do with losing, but everything to do with being competitive. Also notice that I only bring it up when a poster from Indy insults the quality of 6a football up north. And I will continue to do so at least 100 more times, so if you don't want to hear it, I suggest you put me on your ignore list. Sorry for leaving Avon out of the discussion. Maybe that is the reason for your bitterness. I will be sure to say something positive about them in the near future so that there are no hurt feelings.
  4. Agree.................all very good points.
  5. I've always felt that Center Grove could make a case for having the best program in Indiana.............pound for pound. But it did take some time for Eric Moore to build that program to what it is today. He really had no choice but to take on the "get better or get used to it" mentality. Being the great coach that he is, he was able to use WC, BD, and Carmel as a bench mark and turn his team into the power that it is today. He started out 7-18 against the Big 3 of the MIC. They've gone 25-25 since..............yes, very impressive for a school of 2500. Lawrence North and Lawrence Central, both similar enrollments to Center Grove, hardly ever beat the Big 3. Lawrence North is 1-13 against Carmel in their last 14 tries. Lawrence Central is 0-7 against Carmel since 2011. I'm not seeing where they even played Carmel before that. So LC and LN are a combined 1-20 against Carmel in recent memory. In conclusion, Center Grove is the only school who has sustained success against Carmel, BD, and WC. Snider (1800) is 0-2 against Carmel in the last decade losing by an average of 8 points per contest. Historically, they are 4-9 against Carmel, but outscoring them in those contests. Six of Snider's defeats came by 3 points or less. They are 1-1 vs Ben Davis and 3-4 vs Warren Central. I don't think it's fair to expect schools of less than 2500 to compete with Carmel (5000), Ben Davis (4400), and Warren Central (3700) just because Center Grove and Snider have. I have great respect for those three programs and their fans. I enjoy watching Snider compete with the big boys. But when some come on here (no posters from BD, WC, or Carmel) and insult 6a football in the northern half of the state, I'm going to defend them.
  6. Enrollment will be in the 3300 range I'm presuming?
  7. Yes, yes, and yes. Good luck to your Saints..................it should be a good one. Dwenger has some big kids themselves.
  8. Silence...................which means that Temptation is in the process of digging up whatever information he can find to prove that I didn't "make" him do anything. Lot's of time on this little fella's hands.
  9. Is your life really that pathetic that 50% of your posts are meant to stir up controversy? Lol, don't answer that, I already know the answer. Still mad that I made you donate to the GID?
  10. Well, one side of Snider's line averaged 315, while the other side averaged 215. So it depends on which side you are referring too.
  11. Hard to say. Merrillville is a solid team. Beating Lafayette Jeff and coming within an extra point of Valpo is impressive. Homestead had a great season. It was unfortunate they lost their starting running back a few weeks ago. They outplayed Carmel for a quarter and a half. Carmel is a big, physical team. They slowly beat the Spartans down.
  12. More than likely.....................2200 vs 5000. It's an uphill climb for sure.
  13. A school of 5000 beating a school of 2400 by a score of 31-7 sounds about right.
  14. Dwenger might have the best defense in the state. I wouldn't concede the Saints against anyone. Defense wins championships.
  15. Confident? Lol.............I wouldn't bet against New Pal. They beat Center grove by 19 and Cathedral by 25. To say that is impressive would be an understatement. But there is a lot of talk about how good Valpo is and Dwenger might have the best defense in the state. I'm just saying nothing is guaranteed.
  16. There is probably no bigger supporter of the Sagarin Ratings than the high school football contingent from the Indianapolis area. And why not? The Sagarin annually is top heavy with Indy area teams. But I suppose his ratings are flawed now since New Pal is only a 3 point favorite over Valpo.
  17. I might check out a game. Thanks!
  18. Didn't realize that. I just have nothing else to go by regarding Hobart and East Noble since I've seen neither play. Looking forward to Friday though, I'll get to see both first hand.
  19. In my opinion, Dwenger might have the best defense in the state. I just don't see anyone "rolling" them. I agree with Carmel winning big. I'm rooting for Merrillville, but Carmel is Carmel. I see them handling Merrillville in the same fashion they handled Homestead. I really don't know anything about Hobart and East Noble other than Sagarin having EN as a 1 pt favorite.
  20. Interesting that no one is giving the the best team in the SAC a chance.
  21. That's a fair answer regarding Saban. Knute Rockne not being on the list was the biggest head scratcher to me.
  22. Glad you enjoyed. The Acme has been around forever. A great spot for the local North Side folks................Snider, Dwenger, and Concordia as well. Good luck to Chatard next week. When they scored on their second play from scrimmage last night, I knew the young Cadets were in big trouble.
  23. Actually, I just quoted you in another one a few minutes ago. Read that one. My question about East Noble and Dwenger wasn't meant to offend. I was just wondering if I was missing something......................"bro". Good luck to your Brickies..................great team this year!
