I like Luers, but I'm not sold on them being #25. Quite frankly, not sold on Lutheran either. I'd take New Haven in a head to head matchup with either team. It's a good looking poll though.
-
When you come up with your polls, is it "who deserves what" or "who would beat who?" Honest question. I'm not sold that four teams ahead of Ohio State, as much as it pains me to say it, are better than them.
-
You could very well be correct. SEC down at the top this year compared to years past?
-
This forum is going to obliterate you for having the audacity to place Snider at #6 after winning "a watered down 5A." I'll say this, the Panther defense is THAT good. It would keep them competitive against anyone in the state. Good poll, thanks for sharing. I'd like to see Brownsburg in that #2 spot though.

Inspired by College Football Final this morning. I thought I'd throw mine out there before they do: 1. Michigan 2. Georgia 3. Ohio State 4. Alabama 5. Washington 6. Florida State Next out: Texas It would suck for an undefeated Power Five team not to get in, but strength of schedule has to matter.

2A State Championship Bishop Luers vs North Posey
BTF replied to jakone's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I was impressed with Luers. It was the first time I was able to see them in person all year. I left them for dead after weeks 1 & 2, but they are clearly a different team now. I think Kyle Lindsay should be looked at for Coach of the Year. For the record, I think Luers vs Lutheran or Luers vs Adams Central would be good competitive games. Congrats to Luers. No matter what they say about the level of play in 2A, the bottom line is this: You'll be remembered forever as the 2A champ. And 95% of high school football fans don't even know what the GID is. So most are oblivious of the "this class is weak," or "this class is watered down" talk. Fans are enjoying these championships for what they are. Gotta love high school football. -
4A State Championship: Northwood vs East Central
BTF replied to Trojan12's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
They remind me of Center Grove. Nothing flashy. Just good sound football. They beat you with discipline and fundamentals. -
Landen Fry #44. He's a beast at LB. Jamarion Kolagbodi #20, good defensive back. Defense should be pretty solid along with Logan and Blakely.

Thanks for that. Kudos to Penn though for getting it done in the mud.

4A State Championship: Northwood vs East Central
BTF replied to Trojan12's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Not sure why Northwood was giving away field position in the 2nd quarter. No need for an onside kick tied 7-7. That led to a short field touchdown to fall down 14-7. Then going for it on 4th and 5 from their own 45. Again, short field touchdown, 21-7. That was the turning point in the game. The better team won of course, but I think the game could have been closer. Passing game was looking solid early on. -
4A State Championship: Northwood vs East Central

Went to Kilroy's after the Luers game. I didn't see anyone who looked like a truck driver with his belly hanging out of his tee shirt..........and the bar was packed. Had my beer at the District Tap. -
By far, not even close.

How many times did those teams take a knee before halftime driving toward their opponents endzone? Respect for ones opponent is far more important than computer rankings. But that's just me (and the Snider coaching staff). Those five programs are solid for sure. We fans can appreciate that. Sagarin has Snider, East Noble, and DC in a one point battle........at least they did as of last week. Snider beat all of those teams by multiple scores. Let's just enjoy the games this weekend, maybe talk about who can beat who starting tomorrow or Monday. In the meantime, let's not let a computer decide who could could humiliate who by four scores.
-
Not to burst your bubble, but debating with an idiot does nothing to affect my breathing pattern. I just find it comical that you get your panties in a wad just because some proud Snider fan claims this Panther team is one of the best 5 teams in the state. Who cares? Get off this thread and stop insulting a team that did something good tonight.
-
So who really cares then? You think you're going to change the mind of a proud Snider program and their contingent of fans? No one really cares what some guy on the gridiron says, lol. These kids are celebrating a state championship tonight. I doubt any thought of where they rank statewide is even crossing their mind. They did something big tonight. You do nothing but type behind your keyboard insulting them. Your list of life accomplishments is probably pretty small, if anything at all.
-
Yeah, but that game wasn't even close. I rank losing to Valpo last year right up there with losing to Penn in 1997 and Carmel in 1986. Three years Snider let the state championship slip through their fingers.
-
Sorry, yours takes the cake. No matter how good Snider looked, some dumbo is going to come on here and diminish what they did to keep the "5A is bad" narrative going. I was actually pretty impressed with Decatur Central. They just ran into, arguably, the best defense Snider's ever put on the field. The Panther's defense is good enough to keep them in any game against any team in the state. I'm not saying I'm prepared to rank them #1, but your comment about all those teams beating Snider by multiple scores really illuminates your low IQ of the game. Snider tricked the entire state of Indiana into thinking they were overrated after their one point win over Mishawaka. Snider nation knows what I'm talking about.
