Fear you are right, hope you are wrong.
Glimmer of hope with Carroll. We won't know what they are really made of until they play out of town opponents. They do appear to be better than last year though.

What the hell happened?
They subbed seven freshmen on defense. I mean, it sounds legit. Not sure how else Merrillville gets wasted by Chesterton.

That matchup is gonna be intresting gonna be tighter than people think.
I don't disagree.

Looks good Piratefan. I do like New Pal to take 4A though.

Agree. New Prairie is intriguing. So is Columbia City after defeating Norwell. I think Northwood vs New Prairie is a push at this point, with Columbia City chomping at the bit.
And Kokomo.

I personally think they should of beat snider early in year? I think I heard they missed 4 or 5 XPs
Snider opened up a 20-6 lead. Both teams missed an extra point up until that point. North Side scored two more touchdowns after that and missed on both conversions. Final score 20-18. Could have beaten Snider? Sure. Should have beaten Snider? No. You could say the game was pretty even and came down to extra points. We'll find out who the real winner is if Snider can get by Dwenger. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Dwenger has good coaching capable of making the adjustments they need to close the 28-0 gap. And not many have more heart than a Catholic kid playing football. This sectional is a crapshoot.

Right now just saying fake would he at merrillville. But I don’t think snider will be there. I’m going FW north or Mishawaka
North is hungry for a sectional title. They'll be hard to stop.

I don't think any coach at the high school would sit a bunch of starters to rest them for the playoffs, unless they had some sort of injury they were allowing to heal up. This isn't the NFL week 17.
All bets are off when Merrillville gets waxed by Chesterton. To each their own.

Yep, my thoughts exactly, esp. the way Elkhart got dominated by New Prairie.
Which begs the question: Did Elkhart sit starters? For most coaches, I would say pride in getting the win trumps resting a player for the tournament. The rest option is fine, but at least play him for a couple of quarters. When a team has momentum, don't do anything to kill it.

Northwood will have their hands full with New Prairie if that game happens in the regional

What a weird box score
shutout till the fourth and then 45 total in 1 quarter
Reported by Bears62 last night:
Crown Point 35 Michigan City 3 3:04 3Q

The team with the lessor amount of home games always hosts. All things being equal, the host team is the one on the bottom of the bracket.
Carroll would host Warsaw since the Tigers already hosted a game and Carroll did not. Elkhart would host Carroll since neither team hosted yet and Elkhart is at the bottom of the bracket.

Was going to say the same thing… Thought Merrillville had 30 D1 starters…
It really makes you wonder if they were sitting guys for one reason or another. If you look at the body of work of both programs over the course of the season, the final score makes no sense whatsoever.

Merrillville still at #18 even after last night's performance? Were they resting starters?

6A is loaded this year. The North is just as exciting as the South.

Columbia City completes the 4th quarter comeback on the road 25-24.

Norwell going down? Columbia City takes lead with 49 seconds left.

Snider 45 - Luers 7
Snider's deep. They keep plugging in new guys and are scoring at will. The 2A Knights are worn down.

Penalties killing Wayne. Touchdown called back now penalties aiding Carroll drive.

Carroll certainly looks for real and might be better than any 6A team in the north . Whether they can hang with the 6A Indy powerhouses remains to be seen . I look at this game tonight as a win for me regardless of the outcome . If Penn wins , great they move on , if they lose they will get their guys earlier than expected for my favorite sport(Wrestling).
Tonight? Two weeks away 🙂

Best team Carroll has had! Bold statement! Maybe u should wait till after the season before making that statement! Just saying!
Carroll could lose Penn, Elkhart, or Crown Point and it wouldn't change my opinion.

Fair enough! They trounced my Tigers that year (and they year before). I guess I was thinking the 2014 team had the Tranquill brothers, but maybe they were there the year before?
He played in 2012 and 2013. It was the 2012 team that upended Penn. Then they lost to Merrillville by 29. Bowed out to Carmel by 31 in 2013. These last two years are easily the best teams Carroll has ever fielded.
Warsaw's claim to fame was in 2000 and 2001. Those were some good football teams.

Can't punish Bishop Luers with a two win season when three of the teams they play are in 6A, three are in 5A, two are in 4A, and one is 3A. If you want to go by win/loss records, then the only wins that count are the ones in your class or above. In this example, Luers would be 2-0.
