Concordia was a formidable opponent a few years ago and they will be again. Not sure what the solution is to your question short of just dropping out of the SAC. Snider would do the same thing to Northrop, Luers, and South Side.

Brownsburg might be the best team in the state. I have them deadlocked with Ben Davis and Center Grove. That being said, didn't Cathedral have them down 17-14 at one point? The Irish must be pretty good if that's the case. I think the Kingsmen are good also, but I see the difference in this one being two touchdowns. Cathedral 35, Penn 21.

Debatable. I think Snider and Carroll are clearly 1 & 2 in NE Indiana. That 3 spot could be East Noble or North Side (healthy), but I'll roll with the Knights with better quarterback play. I'm not ready to count out Homestead as long as the team that almost beat Carmel comes to surface. What about Columbia City, Warsaw, and New Haven? And do I dare say it? Adams Central. Positions 3-9 could be a crapshoot. The next few weeks will give us more clarity.

Agree. I think one can compile a pretty decent ranking after Week 2, but certainly more clarity after Week 5 or 6. That's all I'm saying. Take Snider for example. They could be as high as 5 or as low as 19. We won't know until late in the season. Warren is struggling, for sure. But they almost beat Carroll in an ugly game on both sides. One could conclude after that game that both of those teams are struggling (I know the Carroll faithful weren't happy with the Chargers performance). But then again, Carroll fought pretty hard against HSE (who could be the 5th best team in the state). What do we conclude in all this? Warren struggled mightily in two games and have their work cut out for them when the big Indy teams coming. Ranking 5-20 is kind of a crapshoot. Right now I'm not betting against Brownsburg, Ben Davis, or Center Grove. Cathedral is always a safe bet, so I like them in that 4 spot. Ranking teams after that is kind of a mess. Snider, Penn, Valpo, Crown Point, and Merrillville are looking good out of the North. I wouldn't be surprised if those schools gave Indy's next best five a run for their money. I know, I know, Merrillville got clocked against Chatard and Westfield. But something feels a little different out of the north this year.

Carroll big over South - Archers are a work in progress. Luers over Northrop - Bruins are struggling, but they could keep it close. North Side over Dwenger - One of two interesting games this week. After playing possibly two of the top three teams in all of Indiana and Ohio, the Saints finally get a bit of a break. I'm going to roll with North Side by about 14. Snider big over Concordia - Cadets are a work in progress. Homestead over Wayne - This is the other interesting game. I think Wayne solidifies themselves as a legitimate 4A threat out of the north if they can pull this one out. Spartans by 7.

It's all good. It's still hard to rank teams after just two weeks of play. Snider and Carroll, currently, could be 4/5, 9/10, 12/13, or 15/16. Time will tell.

Notre Dame's rugby team is THAT bad?

They have a coach who has a good winning track record and is in his third season. They have a massive offensive and defensive line. Reloading at the skill positions is pretty much an expectation at Warren. Even people from Indy were expecting a big year out of this team. It's too early to hit the panic button. They are 0-2 against two teams that might be Top 10 statewide.

Sounds like an up year for Warren on the offensive and defensive lines and a down year at the skill position? I still think WC could come together by playoff time. Clearly the QB and WR's are a work in progress.

I had Noblesville by 14. The final score shocked me. It's still hard to draw conclusions after two weeks, but either Noblesville is either really good, or Homestead is really bad. The Spartans have an opportunity to gain some respect next week against a pretty decent Wayne team.

Haven't seen either team play, I just know the difference between the two teams was a late interception for a touchdown. Sounds pretty equal to me.

Do you suppose some of their problems were the result of going up against two really good defenses that caused disruptions? Let's not forget that HSE's offense only scored twice against Carroll. Maybe Fort Wayne just has two legitimately good Top 10 teams? I'm not sure Warren Central just "all of a sudden" stinks. I guess we won't really know until Week 4 when they play a good Indy team, presuming they do okay this coming Friday.

Agree. I have Warren Central somewhere between 16-18. There are a few teams in the Top 25 that, in no way shape or form, I'm betting on them beating the Warriors. If Carroll is good enough be #12, then WC is good enough to be Top 25. They had Carroll down for three quarters on the Chargers home field. That game could have gone either direction. Not sure why Snider dropped three spots. They led a good East Noble team 45-13 in front of a big home crowd in Kendallville. All that being said. Good work Temp. Love seeing your poll.

I haven't seen them yet, so I'll just take your word for it. But if Homestead is that bad, is Carmel bad too?

Observation from last night: East Noble is good. I even felt that way when Snider was up 45-13 and a field goal away from a running clock. Snider is opportunistic, and that's what good teams do. Forcing a fumble deep in Knights territory is a good example of that. An illegal procedure stopped another good drive by EN in the first half. They never even punted the ball in the first half despite only having 7 points. That being said, I don't agree that East Noble would "clearly" win SAC's small division. North Side would have something to say about that. But I also think EN would be a lock in the three spot in the big division.

Or maybe they're not struggling. Maybe Carmel is overrated. Maybe Noblesville is underrated and the Millers are just THAT good. Are they a struggling program if they beat Wayne next week by two touchdowns? It's still early to jump to conclusions in my opinion.

East Noble want's this game...........bad. Panthers better be ready to put their best foot forward.

That's the Rodney I know, you never mince words. I'd never underestimate an East Noble or Leo. Both are pretty good programs. East Noble has a state championship to their credit and were down at Lucas oil a short four years ago. Wayne and New Haven have a lot to prove, they haven't earned respect yet. I think the Saints will be prepared after playing Indiana's best, Ohio's second best, Snider, Carroll, and Homestead. They'll be ready for Sectional 19, regardless if this is an up year, a down year, or a sideways year.
