  1. Teams from the north have mothers that are hamsters, and fathers that smelt of elderberries. We fart in their general direction.
  2. Arguably... what else are we supposed to argue about? 😄 First let's get through Boonville this week, (arguably) the toughest PAC opponent on paper (#2 in points scored and #2 in points allowed in the big PAC (113 and 40 respectively in 4 games, only behind GS). I think their 2-2 conference record is deceiving. They may not have the horses of 2020, but they shouldn't be overlooked. You give a team like the Pioneers a brush off in a week of practice and you may get a bloody lip come Friday night.
  3. And no offense to you, Dumfries!! After re-reading, that sounded like I was bashing you, and that wasn't my intent. I know you bleed Maroon, Gold, and White. Plus you're too nice a guy to say mean/honest things to other teams... so I felt compelled to do it for you. 😬 My apologies if any offense was taken.
  4. Ok, I'll bite. 1v2 is not arguable. At best, 1v3. Arguably... 1v4. Exactly. There is a reason this is true, and not because HH is historically a thorn in GS's sectional side. It's because they are better that MV in 2021. Week one was a fluke. MV won, not taking that away from them. But plus five TO margin (memory there, could be different) and you win by one score? C'mon. HH silver plattered that one to MV, and then some. HH>MV 8 of 10 games. SR>MV 7 of 10. Anyone that says sectional 32 championship is being played in the bottom bracket of round one is either misinformed, ignorant of PAC football, or from Posey County.
  5. Sorry, yes encroachment. Too much Sunday in my brain sometimes.
  6. Team A has 1/10 at B40 yard line. A is in a legal wing-t type of formation or similar, but typically runs a spread variation 99% of the time. Q calls "set" and down linemen go into three point stance for approximately one second. Suddenly, and in unison, all of A team except center, Q, and RB break hard toward opposite sidelines, drawing the DE across. Call on the field was offside on the D, now 1/5. I contend it would be a false start, as it was set up to suddenly and deliberately simulate action across then entire line to draw the defense across. Call?
  7. Is it the expanded NZ in NFHS, or just the NZ?
  8. And it has been party to many highly scrutinized and critiqued scout film sessions on the LT, apparently. I second that emotion.
  9. Excellent point. The snap is imminent in the screenshot below (no motions or resetting by the offense).
  10. I know, I know... difficult or impossible to make a call on a static photo, BUT for the sake of argument, we'll be hypothetical... The LOS is the B 23 yard line, approximated by the yellow line, and the receiver in question is circled. The receiver took three steps toward A's end zone on his initial stem, planted, and worked back to the LOS, establishing himself with both feet behind the LOS while working toward the center of the field. He jumped to catch it in the air, landing with his right back foot on the 24 and simultaneously driving toward the A end zone with his left foot. The ball does not cross the neutral zone in flight before being caught by the receiver. At that point the LJ, upon seeing the ball released by the Q, had already turned to observe the two inside receivers preparing to engage with the DBs. At the same time, seeing the linemen cross his face, the U threw the flag when the receiver came down with the ball. The officials did confer, extensively, and I would assume that the LJ would not have been able to counter the U's decision to throw the flag, having not actually seen whether the ball crossed the neutral zone in flight. You can't flag something you don't see (or in this case, overturn a flag), and I get that. So having said all of that in this hypothetical, what would the proper mechanics of the LJ be when he recognized the play was a screen pass? Verify ball location in flight when caught by the receiver, or work himself and his eyes downfield to the blocking receivers?
  11. Watching film with two fish bowls of something cold is the only way to properly game plan. Gotta be careful though, too many and we get to straying off task. Next thing you know we're six in and have a first drive script suggestion consisting of the double tight wishbone, three statue of libertys, a hook and ladder, and the ol' hidden ball play. Again.
  12. Keep trying. He took up my suggestion on the LED down marker and that's been a game changer. He didn't bite on the Hi-Pod X31 though, so you might have better luck. BTW, we still up for Old Football Dad film study group tomorrow? We need to get our outline to coach before Thursday's walk through if we want our MV install implemented...
  13. HA! I do now! Always thought he was an Illinois boy. Well, technically I guess he was in college, but I never dug any deeper than that. Wonder how many aspiring TEs he motivated out of the early 90s Indy area with his Tecmo receiving prowess 🤔 😄
  14. Not me. Tecmo Bowl all the way, baby. Singletary. Walt. Dent. McMichael. Cap Boso. True Tecmo fans know the MVP of that Bears team... and it isn't any of the first four names. Plus, any more buttons than 'B' and 'A' make me choleric. Get off my lawn, random shapes.
  15. So your issue then, clearly, is the teenage kid that you, as an adult (presumably, not quite sure at this point), are continuing to call out on a public forum is in danger of hurting an opponents feelings? Because you should be specific for what the flag was thrown for... not the block (the U didn't throw it there), not the pancake to the ground (the U didn't throw it there either), but getting up and trash talking. Kudos indeed to the official for watching this entire play from first contact through the pancake block and not throwing the flag until the play was over and said player stood over the kid on his back. That was four full seconds from the time the kid hit the ground, the OT immediatly stood up (no lingering), and looked down on the DE. THEN the U pulled the flag. Count four seconds out, starting from zero. Go on, I'll wait. Use your fingers if you have to. Ok, now tell me with a straight face the official threw that flag on anything but what might have come out of his mouth as he was standing upright over the DE. I had thought your issue was with how "dirty" this kid was and that he was going to get someone hurt by playing to the whistle and performing violent, while extraordinarily legal, acts in the field of play. But I was clearly mistaken. I now see your concern is obviously vested with ensuring the DE on his back doesn't have to hear that his momma REALLY IS fat, or whatever nonsense trash talk comes out of a 17 year olds mouth in the heat of the moment. Thank the good Lord above we have these fine officials making the calls on the field and not, well, you. We'd never get home on a Friday night.
  16. GS over HH MV over Boon: MV up early and often, win by 3+ scores. NP over Tec: shouldn't be close, 4+ scores. NK over PC: sorry chargers, but I think that's all for this year, 3+ scores. Wton over Pton: can't make myself do it, Wton by 1 point. FP over SS: SS should keep it within 2 scores. SR over TC: close in first half, SR pulls away, 2+ scores.
  17. Geez, half the season gone and not ONE holding penalty OR unsportsmanlike conduct against the player you called out on a public forum? What exactly are we paying these officials for? Especially the SW game, in Kentucky, with a SEVEN man crew... we need to revoke these officials' licenses immediately. Grab the scissors, you get their patches. I'll get their whistles. Well, I guess they can keep those since they apparently don't work anyway. All of them are transfers. Every single one. Mostly from Reo and the surrounding area. </s>
  18. Late to the Week 2 party, but I was reminded of an issue watching replays. On a kickoff, a line drive kick bounces off R1's shoulder pad at the R 15 YL and rolls three yards into the endzone where it is picked up by R2 and returned to the R 35 YL. Call on the field was 1-10 at the R 35 YL. My understanding was that a muffed or non-possesed kick was treated as a regular kick and ruled a touchback as soon as it crossed the plane of the goal line. What is the correct call? And, as a follow up, would it be a touchback had the second returner picked up the ball at the half-yard line with his back foot in the endzone? Again, it is my understanding that the BALL is the important factor, not the position of the player.
  19. HH by a couple scores, passing optional TC, was thinking FP would be stronger than they have shown so far GS MV wins by stepping off the bus SS if they have a game at all SR, I don't think NP will hang
  20. Maybe your money is no good here 32... they got your avatar and a bounced check pinned up on the wall saying "Accept NO checks from 32, cash ONLY!" 😄
  21. What? Just because we play in the middle of a cornfield doesn't mean procreation and birth happened in the middle of the same field by some fifth generation midwife with seven teeth. There might be a couple "farm kids", at most. The rest of it happens in the weight room, period. Just like all the "soft" big city kids...
