  1. Ha! Well, happy wife, happy life. Smart man. Without the sour, the sweet isn't nearly as sweet! (That's what my therapist tells me after every postseason 😆)
  2. Also very fair, and better, points. VL/Pton moving to S30 in 2019 bumped Danville/Tri-West to S29, Chatard from S29 to S28... and so on and so on. Messy stuff. Ok, I'll concede that VL is a big winner by moving to S30, particularly in respect to potentially winning a sectional championship, which is of course the original question you answered that I looked past. ...still bugs me that Pton bumbled their way into a 2019 sectional championship game though. lol My county rivalry blinders were attached firmly to my face. Sectional envy perhaps? Nah.
  3. I will respectfully disagree that VL is the biggest winner of Memorial/Chatard moving up. Recent history shows that a S30 championship is... well... not exactly a feat. I don't know that Memorial or Chatard moving up would be opening too many doors for any S30 champs to move on beyond even the mid-tier S29 teams that get knocked out in their first/second round. I don't see an S30 champ currently/recently getting a chance at a potential S32 beneficiary of Memorial leaving S32 at semi-state, let alone an S28 (sectional of death) beneficiary at the state championship. VL/Oven Valley may surprise me, but right now I can't see either of them knocking off either Danville or Tri-West. OV have had a great year, but beyond their Northview win... I dunno. I honestly don't follow them even remotely close, so I don't have a good bead on them. Reaching back into 2019 S30... playing VL in that sectional championship was a regular season one win Princeton team (the win was vs zero win Washington), who didn't have much resistance from Owen Valley (a regular season one win team (whose win was versus ANOTHER regular season one win team)) or Edgewood (a 7-2 team with wins I think exclusively vs 1A-2A schools... and Washington) in their first two sectional rounds to get there. So, comparatively, 2019 Princeton was a 1-8 regular season team playing at 3-8 for the sectional title as well... HAVING SAID THAT... comparing the 2021 VL regular season schedule vs the 2019 Princeton regular season schedule is like comparing apples to week old avocados that got left out in the trunk of the car. VL appeared to be into sustaining a program upswing, and still may be, but getting into the SIAC... eh. I don't know that it will be good for their long term growth. Facing tough opponents throughout the season is definitely desirable in preparing for the postseason... to a point... but getting your guts kicked in practically week in and week out can't be good for team morale or lower level enthusiasm. Maybe riding the S30 championship game train will be enough to keep the numbers up, but I personally have my doubts.
  4. Both these coaches know that pretty much any HH-GS regular season result means nothing when it comes to a rematch in the playoffs. I expect the score will not even vaguely resemble the 9/24 matchup. The Pats are the dogs, they have gained a ton of experience since September, and I'm sure they will come out of the gate with the pedal to the metal. GS better be ready because the Patriots will not be going down in a sectional championship without a monster of a fight. And fans better get there early, because I imagine this is going to be a SRO event! GO TITANS!
  5. Isn't just being in S30 a favorable sectional draw? I mean... even *Princeton* somehow found themselves in the finals a couple years back... the sun shines on a blind dog's a$$ twice a day amirite??? 😬 I'M KIDDING... kinda. Best of luck to the Alices this week!
  6. I had always heard about the fabled Hatchet Hallow, but never believed it could be *that* bad. Then I visited. Yikes. Asphalt track ~2 yards off the sidelines. The area drain inlet grates *just* off the sideline--about five drains on each side--all drop, what, 6"-8" down (more??) within a foot of the boundary? How has there not been a major injury? They did put some refurbished field turf down on the straightaways of the asphalt track, so that helps... some. As long as you can avoid the anchors sticking about an inch out of the turf as you slide across it at the seams... It is progress, but dang. If it hasn't happened already, someone is going to get a life-changing injury. I get it, I really do. It is a historic 1938 field/stadium that just will NOT be replicated in this day and age. I wouldn't propose they raze it and start from scratch, or even go to the expense of touching anything within the four boundary lines of the playing surface (yet) or the bleachers (ok, the visitor bleachers are horrible, but for the sake of this fantastical diatribe we'll stick with the OOB area and not my creature comforts). However, AT A MINIMUM everything outside the playing field to the bleachers should be open season for renovation for the sake of player safety. I think they had some kind of plan to possibly get rid of the track, but I don't know how serious that ever got beyond rumors... maybe someone from Washington can fill us in...? I really do hope for some improvements because it has a nice atmosphere and obviously has some great history... but man I cringe on every OOB play.
  7. *cue CHIPS in Fort Branch working doubles for orders before next Friday*
  8. LOL Well, not my story to tell... BUTT, let us say it is good no one had to commandeer a jock strap from an underclassman, too!
  9. Do school records count when wearing someone else's pants during the accomplishment, or does one have to share the yardage between the two players? 🤔 Bonus inquiry: How do quarters get factored into pants sharing scenarios? Do the pants only get two JV quarters the next week, or can they go the full four quarters? I'd think if they were washed you could get the full four, but I couldn't find anything in the rules manual. I'll hang up and listen for your answer...
  10. Loooota peeps in the south end of the state pulling for the Lions this week. Mayyybe even one or two from the north. 😉
  11. You're right, that was the highlight of the night from the MV side of the field. Keep working on those trick plays and clever quips... got all off season to sort them out.
  12. I'm assuming its more of a hiatus sort of thing. Just when I was getting moderately fluent in STC-speak (after ~6 years of intense study and rigorous research), he starts to lurk. I always looked forward to the EIAC updates and predictions. C'mon, @StinkTownClown, it is the postseason and you're needed!!
  13. The key to a MV victory is keeping their pad level low. Should make up +/- 6 scores in just that adjustment, let alone all the other non-specific things reportedly seen on film. I suspect utilizing a full 11 players throughout the game will be one of their unspoken adjustments to shoring up the pass defense, but I get why they don't give that nugget away to the media. Keep GS guessing.
  14. I would have thought you'd be the "Ghost of Titan32" if you were dead. I mean, did you actually read your copy of "Handbook of the Recently Deceased"?
  15. I dunno... still a lotta TYFL champs t-shirts still floating around these parts. Some things you just don't get rid of. And car wash rags?! Blasphemy, sir! Let your wife sneak them out of circulation due to the public humiliation of being seen with you like a man! Like an Alto Adige pinot blanc, a cobot clothbound cheddar, or a November 2009 Playboy, local sports t-shirts only get better with age.
  16. Mr. Cart Before the Horse! lol Thaaat's the Titan32 we all know and love there... 😁
  17. Its high school football, absolutely anything can happen. My anxiety level will be through the roof each and every game from here on out. But to be fair, see above post re: my feelings toward Venmo... my brain's chemical imbalances probably aren't a good indicator of how GS actually stacks up to any given opponent. That said, I think GS TCOB Friday and moves on to round 2... and a heightened level of anxiety, roughly exponential in growth to the playoff round in question. I hear they make great pharmaceuticals for people like me...
  18. Saw that also... great meme. And an oddly good show, IMO. Had me hooked for a couple of weeks at least. Old Man was definitely my favorite character, especially episode 1.
  19. You're on!! It will be great to put a face to the username!
  20. I just re-upped and saw a Venmo option... for all the 'yutes out there. One could maybe use this information to sort out my generational affiliation: I use PayPal for my GID donations it since that's the way I've been doing it. The concept of Venmo makes me anxious. If those two options weren't available I would have to actively hunt for my checkbook since I only ever use it to pay my water bill, as my town won't let me set up auto-pay on my credit card. If I could find it, I'm not sure I have any stamps or envelopes in my house to mail it. Bonus clue: I'm of an age to know the movie quote "the two 'yutes...".
  21. *hurriedly sets up a faux DK_Barons FB account for a free Grant note*
