  1. Holy hell. I like GS, but... holy hell. Guess I need to give the GS kids some bulletin board material this week with my internet forum picks so they are inspired to get that running clock.
  2. Lol that is some true commitment to the hate! I can definitely respect that, I was the same about GB growing up because I had some cousins that were obnoxious Cheeseheads and they had plenty of opportunity back in the 90s to get their gigs in at me. Hated them for 30-ish years. Then my kid grew into a Cheesehead in the Rodgers Super Bowl era when he was 5-6 and I caved A LITTLE BIT and started watching games with him and even cheered occasionally. *shudder* Unless they were playing Chicago, then I told him to take a leap. 😂 I have a feeling Rodgers will own the Bears until he retires.
  3. What the heck is that supposed to mean? You taking jabs at the futility of my Bears?? 😂 I think the Bears are 9.5 point dogs right now and that seems incredibly low for a pissed off AA-Ron. My heart is with the Bears. My money is with GB with that spread.
  4. I will admit, upon first blush when they came out with the sectional assignments, I (me, personally, not GS as a whole) immediately cruised to regionals to see who a likely matchup would be. But as the season go closer to starting I started thinking that the next couple of years at Vincennes Lincoln should be trending upwards. The 2024 GS class had a series of back-and-forths with them at the youth level and it always seemed like it came down to the last minute to know who was coming out on top. I know that doesn't translate one way or the other to HS success, but they had a lot of kids with a lot of heart playing on that team. I think THAT has translated and it is showing up now. VL is getting back into form and they are honing themselves in the SIAC for a strong postseason run. I'm not yet sold on MV. Their wins look good on paper, but they lost the only game that has really mattered so far for them, Heritage Hills. ...who lost to Boonville, who lost to Southridge. I think they have some good athletes, but I don't know that the right team dynamic is there. But it only takes a hot streak with the right athletes to do some damage come sectional time. I have zero knowledge about Owen Valley and the WIC other than Rob Gibson must be a Patriot whisperer. OV is 14-2 since Gibson took the reins as HC in 2021. The three years prior to him arriving they were 4-26 and got beat in the 2019 playoffs by Princeton (yes, that Princeton). So far this year they trounced a perpetual .500 2A Brown County by 70, beat a pretty solid 1A South Putnam by three scores, eeked out a 2-point win over 3A Indian Creek who had a pretty bad 2021 but looks to be improving, and a 50-point drubbing over Edgewood who I believe got bumped to 4A this year due to enrollment. One Edgewood's two wins last year came over zero-win Washington 16-0, so... (no offense, Hatchet fans). They are beating who they need to beat, but I don't know that they've faced a ton of adversity yet. The South Putnam team was probably their biggest test so far, standing at 5th in 1A in Sagarin, 103 overall. They are taking care of business and I think this week's matchup against undefeated 4A Northview may tell us a lot.
  5. You do you. Can't argue results, I suppose. And if my aunt had balls she woulda been my uncle, but I'll take the dubs however they come as well.
  6. GS needs to play team football Friday or SR will be happy to hand us a loss. Sounds like SR is playing lights out D and they can methodically grind out yards and points on offense. If our heads come in too inflated by the results of the first four games and we forget to reset to the new week and focus, SR won't mind popping the collective bubble for us. GS takes it if they keep playing team ball like they have been. Exciting football to watch!
  7. So that's GS at 2-4 vs your 6A examples and down one score to the 4A example, 2-5 overall. Maybe not a win over all of them every time, but I don't think GS would get shut down by all seven, if ever given the chance. All losses within striking distance, especially for a GS offense. I don't imagine GS would likely back down from getting a 2-year deal with any of them, other than maybe travel limitations. Then again, GS met Calumet in Brownsburg to make up a covid game, so maybe not so unlikely. Until then, all hypothetical.
  8. Isn't that the patch of skin between your chocolate starfish and your scrot? I swear to God it is @Donnie Baker
  9. Ok, well. Ok. What lottery numbers are you playing this week btw?

  11. I saw one team in 4 years back in the mid-late 90s. Seeing more as of late, but still seems far in the minority from what bit I've noticed. Though I can't say I've explicitly been looking for it, so it could be more than I realize.

  13. As many around here know, Titan sweat is like pure glacier water, quenching the thirst of an opposition's barren landscape. Little known secret, the team never actually brings water or Gatorade into games. They just wring out their sweat rags directly into the water bottles. Instant 34 degree electrolyte enhanced advanced hydration. Also, Titan sweat cleanses even the toughest baked-on stains.
  14. When it rains. And when they dump the ice from the water jugs.
  15. I don't want any adjustments for starting a week late either. Start me from zero and I'll see if I'm prescient enough to catch up. (I'm pretty horrible at this even without a spread, so I'm guessing y'all are safe. 😁 Castle [+14.5] at Mater Dei Central [-28.5] at Bosse Memorial [-15.5] North Reitz [-12.5] at Vincennes Forest Park [-6.5] at Perry Central New Albany [+28.5] at Gibson Southern Pike Central [+25.5] at Tecumseh Princeton [+22.5] at North Posey Southridge [-6.5] at Boonville Heritage Hills [-27.5] at Tell City
  16. It appears from the media guide and the photos I took that there were three freshman starters. Offense - LG Defense - DT, S There may have been another rotate in at some point, but I can't say for sure.
  17. He said 200 yard rushers, not a billion-kajillion... Nice job, kid!
  18. Join the rest of the state, according to the fans I've sat next to at every game I've attended in multiple states at multiple levels (NFL, FBS, FCS, D3, HS, MS, Youth, Flag, my back yard, PS4, PS3, PS2, NES, Atari, and whatever that little handheld thing was back in the 80s). At some point it's not them, it's us. 100 percent. Context is important, and that wasn't your normal first down signal, if there is such a thing. I'm not part of the NFL (no fun league), but at this level things can be excitable, but need to be respectful. Show me you can make great, good, average, less than average plays and still be sportsmanlike. High school sports are, in part, here to help form student athletes into good citizens. Learn to win gracefully. On an unrelated but somewhat tangential note... last night after the GS@THS game I was in very close proximity to a kerfuffle between a (some?) THS FB players and a (some?) THS non-players (according to several THS players I ran across on the way to the locker room after the game). Those things happen, whatever. After I walked past the situation toward my vehicle I crossed paths with what turned out to be a THS Sr starter that was a significant contributor in the game. Unsolicited, he said, "Sir, I apologize, that does not represent who we are." I was somewhat taken aback by this kid leveling up in maturity and could only babble something like, "Hey, man... no big deal, things like that happen. You guys played a great game tonight." He replied, "Thank you, sir." He kept on going to the locker room. In that seven second interaction I learned why he's not an athlete that had to tell the stadium when he got a first down.
  19. How do you feel negatively, in your thoughts? (Not a smartarse question, just curious on your take from the independent Dugger-Union side of things... again, an honest question)
  20. Dang, I bought a couple GSTs maybe 18 months ago for ~80-ish each. Now, those were the "cosmetic rejects" where the logos were misaligned or were otherwise just not aesthetically pleasing, but functionally fine. Still, I don't remember the regular GSTs being even close to that. Maybe 10 bucks more per (?) That said, I can't estimate a construction project anymore even if my life depended on it... suppliers won't even hold numbers more than 72 hours nowadays. I have no clue how contractors are bidding public projects and getting a good night's sleep.
