Isn't he at Kentucky now? I believe he graduated last year. Indeed, I saw that and also found it a bit odd. -

Gibson Southern (10-0) at Owen Valley (10-0)

How would the OV offense compare to Southridge, in your opinion? -
Gibson Southern (10-0) at Owen Valley (10-0)
HHPatriots replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
That is what most think will do the trick against GS, but it won't work. GS needs about 45 seconds to score, I'll say it again, they are fine with you burning the clock between punts. Against GS it is defense and bringing pressure on Boyd. If you can't win at the line, you won't win. D-Line has to be 110% and your DBs have to be good--not necessarily fast, but they need to spent some time watching film. GS routes are excellent--you don't have to be crazy fast if you are a great route runner. -

At the half I believe it will be close. At the end, this could be 3 or 4 scores. OV is a good team. BUT, good and elite are two vastly different things. Coach Hart will man handle these guys by the end. -

2022 3A outlook
HHPatriots replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Not to mention there are probably more Catholics on GS team (or HH for that matter) than Chatard's.....sorry, couldn't pass on that one, all the Chatard folks don't get too wadded up... Everybody wants Bama, until they get Bama. We have had a bunch of close heartbreakers with Chatard over the years and just one win. Frankly, it doesn't bother me at all when they are in 4A, makes 3A more interesting. Be careful what you wish for. Playing Chatard in the regular season and the postseason are 2 different animals. -
Gibson Southern (8-0) at Boonville (6-2)
HHPatriots replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
As bad as Boonville would like to win this game, especially on Senior night (at Boonville, right?) I highly suspect this will be at least a 3 score game. Boonville's QB is very good, but Coach Hart will shut him down. This will be one of the scores I will look up tonight and if it is a running clock, it won't be much of a surprise. That is probably why it has gotten so little press. This is in no way to be offensive toward Boonville....they are a pretty good team. GS is in a different place. A game that would get some press? Gibson Southern and Reitz. That is a game that many would like to see. -
What if the sectionals were seeded?
HHPatriots replied to crimsonace1's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Here is a crazy idea, what if the sectionals were not only seeded but what if you had to have a .500 record (or something like that) to be in the tournament at all? Oh the horror!!! Indeed, the regular season meaning something, there is a thought. -
Makes sense....I recall they gave us a heck of a game in sectionals in 2014.

What is the year on that? Is that mid last decade? 14 or 15ish?

I'd say that 62 - 0 is fairly accurate. -
Heritage Hills (4-3) at Southridge (6-1) Southridge High School - Huntingburg, IN Friday, October 7, 2022 6:30 pm CST Kickoff This is the 54th time Heritage Hills and Southridge have met on the gridiron and the Patriots lead the series 38-15. Southridge is one of only 3 teams that was on the Patriot football schedule in their inaugural season in 1972 that the Patriots have played at least once every season since. The Southridge Raiders are averaging 35.7 ppg (points per game) and giving up 7.3 ppg, while the Patriots are averaging 35.4 ppg and giving up 18.1 ppg. Including post season play, the Patriots have not played any one team more than the Southridge Raiders. In that time, the Southridge Raiders have defeated the Patriots 15 times; More than any other opponent in Patriot Football history. The general feeling is that this will be a good game. While SR has been playing very well, HH may be one of the better 4-3 teams around. Just a few plays from being 6-1. If anyone cares about the history: 1972 HH 29, SR 8 1973 HH 10, SR 0 1974 SR 38, HH 0 1975 SR 9, HH 7 1976 SR 19, HH 13 1977 HH 29, SR 8 1978 SR 15, HH 11 1979 HH 36, SR 14 1980 HH 34, SR 2 1981 SR 7, HH 6 1982 HH 18, SR 13 1983 HH 13, SR 7 1984 SR 27, HH 14 1985 SR 45, HH 14 1986 HH 29, SR 0 1987 HH 40, SR 13 1988 HH 49, SR 22 1989 SR 12, HH 7 1990 HH 26, SR 6 1990 HH 27, SR 20 1991 HH 20, SR 0 1992 HH 39, SR 12 1993 HH 38, SR 0 1994 HH 42, SR 6 1995 HH 51, SR 6 1996 HH 36, SR 12 1997 HH 46, SR 0 1998 SR 21, HH 20 1999 HH 31, SR 0 2000 HH 42, SR 6 2001 HH 30, SR 0 2002 HH 42, SR 0 2003 HH 43, SR 8 2004 HH 48, SR 28 2005 HH 33, SR 0 2006 HH 26, SR 0 2007 HH 35, SR 13 2008 SR 26, HH 7 2009 HH 21, SR 14 2010 HH 15, SR 12 2011 HH 21, SR 0 2012 HH 34, SR 0 2013 SR 34, HH 8 2014 HH 33, SR 7 2015 HH 17, SR 7 2016 SR 29, HH 17 2016 SR 37, HH 34 2017 SR 17, HH 7 2018 HH 24, SR 14 2019 HH 42, SR 7 2019 HH 27, SR 7 2020 SR 34, HH 14 2021 HH 20, SR 13

Gibson Southern (5-0) at Heritage Hills (3-2)
HHPatriots replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I guess I will just say, yes, it is this reason you state. Our frosh QB had to move up to JV and they didn't feel as if there was an option to go to. There is an option (or 2), but whatever... While I can't speak for Apollo, I think I can say that neither GS or Mater Dei would care if we played our current freshman QB 8 quarters.....both of those schools would rather play than not. Am I wrong? Playing with a freshman back up on the freshman team and losing beats not playing at all. In the JV game Monday against you guys, we had to play a freshman fullback (2.5 quarters due to FB injury) and a freshman QB....who cares???? Outside of Friday night wins/losses don't matter, it is all about feeding varsity. Get these kids as many reps as you can get them. 2 of the last 3 games the freshman had (GS and MD) would have been great for competition and learning... We have 21 freshman, but really only 19. 1 plays only varsity (we all know who that is) and the other is a kicker that always has a conflict with soccer on Thursday and only plays JV. So 19 is the real number on the freshman team. -
That is actually what I got.

I have no idea what I just read, but wait, you beat us before the Hart era???? C'mon on man! Really?!?!? (This is where you need to read into me being snarky) By the way, GS folks, I ate at Zach's Diner before the JV game last night. Great eats, definitely going back! Wish I would have had time for the fried chicken to cook--I would have got that, it looked good. We barely made the game on time as it was.

Yes, but they had less than 30 yards of total offense against Southridge. That's crazy.
