In Cathedral's 3 stints at the 6A level 2015: 2 OT loss to Avon in regional final 2016: Drubbing to eventual 6A champion Ben Davis in the regional who went 15-0 and arguably one of the best 6A teams ever 2022: Semi-state loss to eventual 6A Center Grove, a team they beat earlier in the season. Should be noted Cathedral avenged their only regular season loss to Brownsburg the round prior. Don't think depth has ever been the root of the problem. It certainly wasn't in 2015 and 2022 and nobody in 6A was touching that 2016 Ben Davis team.

They play a 6A equivalent schedule during the regular season so not really sure that argument holds much water. They've lost to the eventual 6A champion in 2/3 years they've played in the 6A tournament.

I have a tough time believing Stalions was attending games on his own dime without the direction of a certain individual at the top. Military men are naturally good at following “orders”.

Because this is the first year Brian Hartline has ever held a title above position coach and if he really wants the Ohio State job down the road, getting some experience, especially in conference, probably isn't a terrible idea. And $4-4.5 million a year is a lot more than $1.6 million. His ability to recruit obviously makes him attractive, but if you're a bigger program, gambling on a 36 year old with very little play-calling duties is a decent risk. IU however couldn't get any worse. Now, it's very possible OSU has named him CIW internally and they won't let him leave, but I imagine Hartline at some point is going to want to take on a role where he has much more responsibility. I like Shepard but he's like the D-list version of Hartline. Has never held a title past Co-OC (which he didn't call the plays) and I think just lacks the experience to be thrown into a job like IU.

My question is: How dumb or negligent would you have to be to get caught doing something like this? I haven't heard one instance of a team getting caught doing this in all my years of existence and didn't even know there was such a rule that existed, apparently enacted in 1994. Most B10 stadiums seat what, 70-80k? How do you get caught doing something like this in a sea of people that big and have it trace all the way back to Michigan?

I'll be the first to question if Michigan is actually the only team that does this, but man, Michigan and Harbaugh just can't help themselves.

Oh they're terrible, and worst part they don't care. They would be on a relegation short list of P5 teams.

They had a great run but are about to be relegated to the levels at which they were pre-Harbaugh. The new transfer phenomenon and NIL have killed that program.

They're on the road so who knows. I still think the Big 3 all hold serve at home when all said and done pitting a 3 way tie at the top of the East division creating some post-Thanksgiving chaos. No clue how the tiebreakers would unfold in that scenario.

Indiana has a better record and an identical conference record as Illinois (with a 2-0 H2H advantage) since Allen took over but still, Indiana is bottom of the barrel P5. Illinois has made a Rose Bowl in my lifetime.

Franklin did win 9 games twice at Vanderbilt. That's impressive. He's made some awful coaching decisions (QB read with McSorely on 4th and 6 against Ohio State) that get extra magnified, but he's been pretty solid there. They are extremely talented this year (and young) and they get a banged up Ohio State with inconsistent QB play at the right time. Wouldn't be shocked to see them spring the upset in Columbus Saturday gaining an inside track to the East championship.

Godlovske was a Rimington award finalist a few years back no? Miami OH and then ended at Oklahoma State.

He's still likely getting a nice $200-300k salary a year coaching TE's. I really don't know what he does at IU. The guy before him recruited both Ian Thomas and Peyton Hendershot (both NFL) and after inheriting Hendershot for his senior year, the TE room has been awful under Wright's direction. 2/3 top TE's this year are walk-ons with one being a lacrosse player from Chicago who came to IU without ever playing a down of football in high school.

Both are high school coaches for a reason.

Cathedral hasn't played in their enrollment based classification in a DECADE. I have zero idea why they are always brought to the forefront of every single one of these mindless debates.
