Eric Davis out at Bellmont. I couldn’t be happier with the hire. It may take him a few years to grow into the roll but this is the breath of fresh air the Braves needed.
This school would be about 723 students according to IHSAA. That is about 30 more than we have at Bellmont. Can you imagine that team in 3A Sectional with Bellmont Norwell Heritage Peru Northwestern? Concordia is in our sectional. That could be a fun game.
Angola plays in a conference with all 1-3A schools. They still won a tough 4A sectional in 2017 and 2018 beating Northwood and Culver both years before running into Dwenger.
Whoa. Back to original post. Maybe these 1A schools should schedule someone better than Bellmont DT? Sorry. Hard to be a fan right now especially with my son graduating.
I’ve been following The Braves closely for a long time. I thought adding AC would be good for us (2014 or 2015 I believe). We used to beat up on the Starfires but things have changed. We aren’t that far removed from a State Championship. I will say that SA and AC could and do currently beat a majority of 2-4A schools. They are some of the best 1A schools in the state. County rivals is also part of this. The kids know each other well and enjoy playing each other. Hope we can turn it around this year. The talent is in our building.
My predicted order of finish. Let’s hear yours.
1. Leo- This is the year the Lions make it back to Semi State.
2. East Noble- Coming off a great season but can they replace Mr. Parker?
3. New Haven- Sounds like they have a lot of returning athletes.
4. Columbia City- Bolt can sling it.
5. Norwell- Getting slightly better every year.
6. DeKalb- New Coach. Lot of question marks.
7. H North- Love what Prescott is doing with the biggest school in the conf. Just give him time.
8. Bellmont- Should be better then last year but I don’t see them having more than a 3 win season.
Yes, have loved some of these great matchups. Leo vs EN, Leo vs NH, NH vs EN, NH va CC, CC vs DeKalb. Norwell is actually 3A last couple years along with Bellmont. This conference is so fun to follow.
I could be wrong but I think both Adams Central and South Adams only lose 3-4 total starters on both sides of the ball (Someone from these teams could correct me if I am wrong) I would predict they get to play twice again next year for another conference and regional title if both take care of business with the rest of their conference schedules and sectionals once again. Should be another epic game of top 3 teams in the state.
In Northeast Indiana, I would say the following coaches are all on the rise and are in their 30s.
Mike Brevard- North Side
Pete Kempf- Dekalb
Brett Fox- CC
Paul Sade- Busco
Josh Gerber- Norwell
I think Marion has a little more team speed than EN but EN may be a little more disciplined. Ole Miss will match up well with them. Should be another great game similar to last week.
