  1. Hamstrings are sometimes tricky. They can heal up quick or become nagging and drag on for a while. Hopefully the shoulder thing is just a stinger or jammed and not separated. Never had a shoulder injury but did have a couple of hammy issues over the years. Used a topical thing the trainers had called "Atomic Balm" with a wrap. Worked great. Only took a few days and was able to get back to full practice and played the next game. That was back in the 70's. That topical I used is probably illegal these days. LOL They probably don't even make it any more.
  2. Sorry I forgot to mention about the players getting hurt. Seemed like there was a lot of cramping going on. Are they going to be okay?
  3. Congrats to the Falcons on their win! Looks like the fourth quarter was especially exciting for the fans. Those are the types of games people will talk about 20 years from now.
  4. Both teams left scores on the field. Both teams were penalized beyond reasonable belief. The Warriors seemed to play more inspired football than the Miners. The Warriors passing game looked a lot better than advertised. The short stuff seemed to work pretty well for them. Then again, the Miners have had problems with that this year. Best of Luck to the Warriors for the remainder of the season.
  5. North Vermillion 35. Covington. 0 P. H. 60. Covington. 24 Upset? Not happening against these 2. Attica is a maybe.
  6. Sounds good NK94. As I said, I've always liked visiting Warrior Field. It's a great venue and a unique experience from the home side. You can see all of the routes developing by the receivers and the holes open in the line for the rb's. Love it!
  7. I guess it's a good thing for Linton and North Knox Sagarin's guessing has no outcome on games, especially pretend ones.
  8. It has been 10 years since the Warriors last won against the Miners. In 2009, they won 15-7. In the last 10 years the Miners have outscored the Warriors 439 - 83 or an average score of 43.9 to 8.3. In 2016 they had a 5 -5 record. In 2014 they were 9 -3, but 2 of those losses that year were to the Miners. In 2010 they were 7 -4 and 2009 they were 6 -5. So they have had some "buzz" here and there.
  9. I'm looking at losses to get some feel for this game. The Warriors lost 15-12 in week one to Sullivan. They lost last week to V. L., 12 -6. The Miners lost week one to Southridge, 28 -20. The Warriors have 2 close losses, but I'm seeing they only scored 18 total points in both games. 18 won't win this game. Unless something crazy happens, Miners should win by 2+ scores.
  10. Totally agree, Tut! It would be great for the Miners to get that first 2A sectional. However, don't ever get fooled by Mater Dei's record. They always play one of the toughest 2A schedules in the state. They will always be in the mix in sectional 40 because of the competition they play every week. Unless they have some key injuries, they will be tourney ready by the end of the season and a favorite to win it. I think this is the best shot the Miners have had to win their sectional since moving up to 2A.since moving up to 2A.
  11. Warrior Field, one of my favorite stadiums to visit. Love the elevated view from the home side and usually watch the game from there although not from the stands. Seen too many big teams already have to chase Linton's skill guys from sideline to sideline. All of them get worn out. Why will North Knox be any different? Speed on both sides of the ball has served the Miners well along with sure tackling. Harrell says 28 - 24? Don't expect the actual final to be close to that. The only way the Warriors keep it close is to win time of possession. Unless they have 3 or 4 long drives and keep the Miner offense off the field, I don't see them keeping up on the scoreboard.
  12. Thinking the same thing Tut. I think the Miners will come out and score on their first possession. Also thinking they are going to score a few times on drives of 5 plays or less. While it's nice that North Daviess has improved, people have to remember, the Miners are improved also. And now that the QB for the Cougars is out this week, I expect scores for them is going to be scarce.
  13. This post doesn't even deserve a reply. Someone please tell this poor soul that Luck retired weeks ago.
  14. Talk is cheap and so are predictions. It's the same thing every year: "So and so could beat so and so". The games are played (and won or lost) on the field not by opinions even if the opinion is from a computer.
  15. What makes them accurate? Because they predict PH over Linton? That makes them accurate? Asking for a friend.
  16. How do the Sagarin ratings work? I thought I had it figured out a couple of years ago, but this year I'm seeing things I can't understand. How does a team with an SOS of only 225 and opponents combined records of 13 - 12 get to be ranked #1 in their class? I don't get that.
  17. Considering Vinny kicked in yesterday's game and made every kick, I'd say he's not retiring. LOL And may I add a lot of fans wrote this team off after neckbeard left. I told everyone that Brissett would do well. He has led this team to a 2 - 1 record so far. I felt after the first 5 games the Colts would be 3 - 2 and that was WITH neckbeard running the team. In yesterday's game against Atlanta, he went full on jedi in that first half. LOL Obi Wan Jacoby anyone? Dude has 7 TD passes and only one pick in three games. Man can protect the ball and make really good decisions with it. Colts are gonna be just fine.
  18. Considering North Daviess is 4 - 1 this year instead of 2 - 3, 0 - 5, and 0 - 5 like the past 3 years, that would suggest "improvement". However, let's not forget, the Miners are improved themselves. They haven't been sitting back just waiting for other schools to catch up.
  19. Hard to believe this week makes two thirds of the way through the season already! Both teams come into this game with 4 - 1 records, but got them in opposite ways. North Daviess had won 4 in a row before falling last week 7 - 6 at West Vigo. Had to be very frustrating. The Miners lost week 1 to Southridge 28 - 20 and have won 4 in a row. I look for the Miners to make it 5 in a row after this week's game. While the Cougars may be improved this year, their competition hasn't been very strong. Harrell's predicts the Miners win, 28 -14. I can agree.
  20. Anyone know what's up with Linton's radio station? It says it isn't broadcasting.
  21. Quite a few large lads the Pioneers have. But as the saying goes, "it isn't the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog". GO MINERS!!!
  22. Looks like the drive up won't be nearly as bad as it would have been since 69 is complete. Safe travels for our opponents.
