  1. Coach Bowsman's nephews, Mack and Mox Lowe, have the lights on at the football field and baseball field at Springs Valley.
  2. I just received this email from my good friend Jason Lowe. Coach Lowe is an assistant at Springs Valley and brother in law of Coach Bowsman. Hopefully this can spread through the state. Good morning Coaches. As many of you know, West Washington's head football coach/AD Phillip Bowsman passed away yesterday afternoon. Phillip was a great man, an extraordinary leader, and the best brother-in-law I could ask for. Springs Valley will be honoring Phillip by turning on our football field lights friday morning and leaving them on until Phillip's funeral services conclude Saturday. I've yet to meet anyone that loved Friday Night Lights as much as Phillip and his family. I'm inviting you to honor Phillip in the same way but also asking you to forward on to other schools/football programs in our area that I do not have contacts for. Let me know if you have any questions. Jason Lowe
  3. I remember that one well. EG dominated the second half. Fun game to watch when you don't really care who wins. Just like tonight was.
  4. Going to wager all the cheesy potatoes I am about to eat that WW wins by 2 TDs. However the French Lick Resort has opened a new hotel since I began betting on games.

  6. Not sure if I picked a winner but: WW
  7. Thanks Coach. It was a challenging season for sure. Wouldn't change it though. Got a handful of great kids here and I don't know what I'd do without them.
  8. That's part of the issue but not by any means THE ISSUE. The story really doesn't get into other sports but the boys could barely field a cross country team, the band can barely field a Band or whatever. The boys basketball went to the state finals in 2017 and the next year had only 16 kids come out. And so on and so on.

  11. "Sectional 40 Championship" should be the title. Sectional 48 is West Washington and Perry Central
  12. Absolutely. I always defer to experience when it comes to these things. Thanks!
  13. Once our season is over I normally go watch Southridge play. The kids look forward to going and we usually watch them at home. Haven't had the chance yet so we are going Friday. Never been to The Jungle before. Really looking forward to it. Any suggestions on where to eat? (Maybe eating arrangement weren't the type of discussion you were hoping for but beggars can't be choosers.)
  14. Not saying anything against the NK defense but I was impressed with their o-line on film. I'm sure several of those kids go both ways and contribute defensively but that line is good for sure.
  15. Charlestown at Lawrenceburg Southridge at North Harrison Providence at Eastern Pekin Triton Central at Paoli Perry Central at North Central North Daviess at West Washington

  17. In the NFL teams try to get the bye so they can rest, heal up and prepare. I don't know why HS kids wouldn't benefit the same way. Either way, I applaud you posting a topic that doesn't include the word "Contraction."
  18. This is how we approached tonight's game. We basically did the same thing we had done all season. Most of our kids have never played football before in their lives and the 5 who had, 3 went down early in the season and only 1 made it back. So, we use our practice time trying to make our kids better and get them ready for next season. We basically do the same in the games as well. So for tonight, you will see one kid at RB who has carried the ball very little in his career, and one who had to be moved to RB during the week due to injury. We tried to get our kids ready to play a game this week and not necessarily prepare them to play Mater Dei. We probably haven't said "Mater Dei" in practice but a few times this week. We didn't watch film of Mater Dei as a group because again we have been focusing inward and honestly I didn't think it would do our kids a lot of good to worry about the differences in our 2 situations. I didn't want my 5-9 120 lb. freshman worrying how he was going to cover that 6-5 210 lb. senior. I wanted him to worry about getting better as a player. Was this the right way to approach the game? Hopefully. If not, at least I thought it was the best way to do it.

  20. I haven't seen any North Knox film in several years so I was curious when I read this and looked them up on MaxPreps. It lists their leading rusher as being 5-6, 135 and second leading rusher as 6-0 and 150. So not really the BIG I was expecting or is this inaccurate?
