  1. I agree with you. Two years ago the Irish place kicker missed one PAT all season, and it hit the upright at UIndy. I don't believe the small stands on the visitors side will be a problem because BD just doesn't travel well.
  2. This should be a good one. The Irish are underdogs according to most "experts" but we shall see what happens Friday night.
  3. The strategy was strange but It worked. It was like Ali and in his rope-a-dope days in a ways. The Coach had faith in this defense and the Irish are advancing. Whether it works for the BD game, we'll just have to see what Coach Peebs has u his sleeve. The game also reminded me of the Papa Joe Dezelan days, when running the ball and stout defense won a lot of games.
  4. The Colts defense had three interceptions, two for pick 6's, and they beat the lowly Panthers 27-13. The offense did manage to score on TD. Kenny Moore III had the two pick sixes, and become the first Colt to have two in a game.
  5. That just shows that Hartman used Evans more than 50% of his targets, and now his safety receiver is gone. Maybe it's time to bench Hartman and give the QB job to Angeli. And in my opinion, he had time to throw at times, but just held onto the ball too long.
  6. Clemson 31, Notre Dame 23 IU 20, Wisconsin 14 Both final.
  7. Another pitiful loss for the Irish. The offense, Hartman in particular, never got going today. It's possible that Notre Dame loses, and IU wins today. IU up 17-14 with 2 minutes left.
  8. Down 31-23 with 10 minutes left, it'll be a miracle if the Irish pull this one out. Not many signs of offensive life out there. The defense has stiffened a bit, but they just can't get the offense rolling.
  9. The new "style" punt is for the punter to take steps to the side and then kick the ball downfield. Does taking these steps negate roughing the kicker? When does he become a threat to run, how many steps? I still don't see the advantage kicking the ball, basically, on the run.
  10. The Irish look ultra lethargic so far today! 3 FG's so far and trouble tackling anyone. 24-9 Clemson, so far.
  11. Jalen Bonds, 32 carries for 261 yards, was BIG! He kept the chains moving all night. It was good to see Danny O'Neil airing it out last night. He didn't need to throw the ball much, with Bonds having the best night of his career, but when he needed to drill it for a first down, it was there. And you can't say too much about the Irish defense! They came up with the big plays when they needed to! The officiating was strange last night, to say the least.
  12. Well, it wasn't a track meet, but it was a strange game. Lots of things that coaches love to gripe about happened tonight on both sides. I didn't understand the Irish kickoffs, which were all basic onside kicks. LN had the ball deep in Irish territory all night it seemed but they only scored the first 3 points of the game. Jalen Bonds, Irish Junior RB was the star of the game. I haven't seen the stats but he rushed for well more than 200 yards, and they were tough yards. More in the morning.
  13. This game can be seen live at 7PM on TV station WNDE channel 23 in Indianapolis.
  14. Yep, Dave Mort. We worked together for a couple years.
  15. I had a friend who was Jeff's senior little league baseball coach. It seems I know a few southsiders!😉
  16. This Cathedral alum and fan wishes to thank Bishop Chatard for building a first class football facility and allowing the Irish to use it for a night. It's a long way to the top of the home side, which we've never had the pleasure of using, but this 80 year old made it to the top, and more importantly made it down after the game. It was a great view from up there and I'm hoping something can be worked out to have us back as the home team. Also, it helped that it was one of the best night's weatherwise all season, with a beautiful Hunter's moon!😊
  17. This could end up being a track meet. Both have high scoring offenses and weaknesses defensively.
  18. As usual, it will be the school and the players that pay the price, while Coach Harbaugh saunters off to the NFL unscathed. Pete Carroll did the same thing at USC a few years ago. USC, of which I'm no fan, suffered long after Pete left for greener pastures!
  19. Nice win for the Irish! The facts are Louisville beat Notre Dame, Pitt beat Louisville, and Notre Dame destroyed Pitt. Xavier Watts is one whale of a defensive ball hawk!
  20. 3rd quarter is more like it, well so far!
