  1. No doubt about Duke being much improved, they're good! Hartman and Estime's runs were epic. I just hope the Irish don't have another late game decision this week. It's tough on a fan of my age!
  2. It's good to see some smack being thrown around this week, just like old times. No, Roncalli isn't the only one to "hate" the Irish, but that's what makes the games fun. Looking forward to headin' south Friday night!
  3. Nice comeback by the Colts today, being down 20-0 at halftime and getting it to OT at 23. Too bad the Rams woke up in OT.
  4. Not much better luck for the Bears today! I have a friend who's a diehard Bear fan and I haven't heard from him in a month or so. I'd better call him to make sure he's OK.
  5. IMO. this will be Tom Allen's final year as IU head coach. The administration has given him enough time and he just hasn't produced. He's a good defensive coach, but he hasn't shown he can be a winning head coach. Nice man though!
  6. Nice win for the Irish! Hartman didn't have his best game, but he came through when the game was on the line. Estime is a beast, a fast one too! It was cool to see Hartman wait outside the "injury tent" to greet injured Duke QB Leonard!
  7. It hasn't happened in a few years. That's a shame but I'm glad it's back. Fierce rivalry will again take place.
  8. In the beginning of the Cathedral/LaSalle game, last night, I kept looking for the play clock. I should know better after all the trips to Ohio that there ain't no clocks on the field.
  9. Cathedral 39, Cincinnati LaSalle 26 final. Fine night for football in Cincinnati and home on the west side of Indy at 11:30
  10. It's almost time to fire up the old team bus and head east to Cincinnati. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans there!
  11. I saw Jesus Christ Superstar there, with the original Broadway cast, for $5. First row in the balcony, great seats! I also saw The Everly Brothers and Johnny Mathis there, among others. It was an outstanding venue!
  12. I've never been a fan of prevent defense either. Well, except for a team having a more than one score lead with seconds remaining that is. Lots of things for the Irish to learn after this one. One thing they did learn is that they can play with tOSU.
  13. This game will be played at the Butler Bowl at 7PM on October 14th.
  14. I've been over there a few times, including 1999 when Otis Shannon ran for 489 yards. Also the 1998 game was a classic at Broad Ripple, won by the Irish with a late field goal 26-23. I believe that's the night that the West Virginia band played at halftime. Can't wait to get back in the stands!
  15. IMO, Minshew didn't get enough credit for managing the game quite nicely. He was overshadowed by the defense and the special teams/FG team, especially Matt Gay's record performance. And don't forget the Colts played without center Ryan Kelly too.
  16. Coach Freeman will do a good job at Notre Dame eventually. The worst play wasn't the last one, it was 4th and one in the first half, iirc, that Hartman attempted a QB sneak, He had one of the biggest, baddest running backs in the Country to give the ball too and didn't. Anyway, it gives more importance to this week's game at Duke, and Duke is no slouch this season. But It seems that the Irish did make a lot of fans happy last Saturday.
  17. Nice win, 22-19, for the underdog Colts against the Ravens today. It took some epic FG's but they got the job done.
  18. It was a tough loss for the Irish! One thing that some of you are overlooking it that it took tOSU 2 plays to barely score against only 10 Irish defenders.😉
  19. Oh yeah, that was a really good one!
  20. Sayers was the best pure running back I ever saw! He was able to break tackles, change directions on a dime and his speed was unmatched. Lots of NFL RB's had better numbers but none were more electrifying! Also, I consider myself a tenderloin connoisseur. If there's a breaded tenderloin on the menu, I order it. The best I've ever had was at the now defunct Pit Stop in Brownsburg. Chef Dave Rose, brother of Pete, was the architect of them! The Mug 'n Bun on Indy's westside had a decent 'loin until they had new ownership a few years back, and now it's just a flat fritter. Bubbas 33 on Indy's southside has a tasty tenderloin now. The Avon location just put one on the menu, but the manager must have a phobia about calling it a "tenderloin." He calls it a breaded pork sandwich. I love me some tenderloins!
  21. Cathedral 28, Frederick Douglas (KY) 19 final.
