Today Chris Ballard confessed that the Colts problems are "all on him." And I agree wholeheartedly! He shouldn't be around for it to be on him any longer!
Well, if I was Jimmy, Ballard would have been gone, along with Frank, after the season ending loss to Jacksonville last season. IMO, a top level coach isn't going to consider the Colts as long as Ballard is the GM.
It looks like Damar Hamlin is progressing quite well. He's off the ventilator and talking to his family and teammates. The on field support was more than adequate, as has been his support in the intensive care unit of the UC Hospital! Hats off to all who participated to this point.
I was a fast pitch softball catcher back in the 1960's and I only wore a mask. I had ball marks over most of my body at the end of a season, but I loved playing the position. Looking back, I was real lucky that I didn't get seriously injured. The only serious injury I had was congratulating a home run by a teammate. I broke my hand in the melee.
I caught about 50-60 games a year for most of those years.
I'm so happy that Damar Hamlin is progressing. It looked pretty bad for a day or two. Medical science has really improved in the last 20 years or so. The on field response was swift and the first responders knew exactly what to do!
Some of the Bowl games seemed to be unevenly matched when announced, and I for one thought the Tulane/USC games was one of those. Boy was I wrong! It was a good one!
It's sad to see half empty stadiums in the first 3 games today, though. I hope the Rose Bowl has its usual big crowd. It looks like it on TV.
As much as I dislike BK, I can't criticize him for running up the score against a depleted Boilermaker team. It was bound to be ugly, and it was. Not much a coach can do but play his entire bench.
I agree! Notre Dame grads do OK after they graduate. The Notre Dame diploma helps 'em quite a bit along the way. I guess if you want, or need, fast cast, Notre Dame isn't for you.
IMO, this matchup wasn't a good one from the beginning. Purdue without a QB was awful to watch today. It just shows how important the QB position really is.
And I will never again be a Brian Kelly fan. I don't care about anything he accomplished at Notre Dame, the way he left was classless!
I searched other sites for opinions about the "targeting." It's about 50-50 and I've seen the play another dozen times or so. After spending so much time watching it, there should have at least been an unnecessary roughness penalty on the play. The "hit" can after he was on his way down.
I'll be watching net Monday! Georgia will be the favorite but the underdogs did OK Saturday. TCU will try to take advantage of their chance. It's not every year you make it to the CFP final.
The 3rd quarter of the TCU/Michigan game reminded me of watching a tennis match! Not much defense in the 2nd game either. Or maybe just outstanding offenses.
The 2nd half should be fun!
I had no dog in the fight, but I watched it a half dozen times and it's my opinion he hit him with his shoulder in the upper back. I've seen quite a few non targeting calls made this bowl season, and it might be I'm watching more games than normal this year. I understand the Wolverine fans will be questioning that call, but in my opinion they got that one right.
Oh, and the hit was unnecessary too! He was already on the way down.
Tommy Rees was also the one that called the play for the winning TD! You sound like the "fans" on the Notre Dame free message board.
Really, the misplays and the dumb calls, which the one on the last pick 6 was dumb, really don't matter. The only thing that really matters is the Irish got the W! The final score is all that makes the history book.
