  1. I'd like to see an automatic first down, like colleges and the NFL, when a personal foul is assessed in a half the distance situation. A DPI was waved against Covington Catholic, this Friday night, and the Irish still faced a 4th down situation instead of it being a first down. This occurred inside the 10 yard line and was in the final seconds of the game. I've long time thought this rule needs to be changed. Thoughts?
  2. Penn State now has 3 losses! And their QB is injured and out for the season.
  3. Quite possibly! Good to see an instate team turn things around. At Church today there was lots of IU gear, but one lady had a shirt that just read "Cignetti." Says it all!
  4. Jacoby Brissett looks like a HOFer today. The Colts left their defense in the locker room, or so it seems. Of course, the Colts have a history of losing to backup QB's.
  5. Slow first half for the Irish but they got things squared away at halftime and rolled to a nice 36-7 win. Wish I was there today.
  6. Did you work the Notre Dame/NC State game today too?
  7. That's the biggest win in IU football history, EVER!
  8. Covington Catholic (KY) 17, Cathedral 10 final Irish QB Cameron Koers injured his shoulder in the 2nd quarter and never returned. I hope he'll be OK for the sectional. Sophomore Luke Finn took over and it took him a while to get loosened up, but he finally led the Irish inside the 10 yard line in the last seconds of the game, but his 4th down pass was well defended. Nice comeback by the Irish in the 4th quarter. They trailed 17-0 starting the 4th, but didn't give up. I'm quite proud of the Irish youngsters! Waiting for the draw on Sunday. Hopefully some Irish players will be back from injury during the sectionals.
  9. Colts whip up on the Raiders, 40-6. I sure hope the Colts place kicker isn't injured too severely. It looked serious when it happened.
  10. Maybe Hamilton County schools should merge. 😉
  11. That must be a new edict.
  12. Thanks for the correction! Most visitors bring their own officials and I just took it for granted this was the case yesterday. My bad!
  13. IMO, you can't lose to UCLA this season and be considered for the CFP!
  14. Some of those yards have to be credited to Boise State bringing their own officials. In fact, all visiting teams bring their own league officials. Most of the calls were warranted, but there were a few that were a bit questionable. I wish the Irish could remedy this situation, but the only way to do that is join a conference, and that ain't happening anytime soon.
  15. You just can't lose to UCLA this season! Also, Florida won over Texas in a bit milder upset.
  16. 28-7 final. The defense was much better today against a very good offensive team. And it was good to have Leonard Moore back! Two picks for him in the game.
  17. Irish offense is moving the ball well against Boise State, but they're only up 14-7 late in the first half. The Irish have had two unsuccessful 4th down plays.
  18. The Irish have only two with varsity experience. Lots of young RB's.
  19. Purdue actually looks like a football team this year! They're trailing Illinois at the moment but they're looking like they care! That's good to see!
  20. Cathedral was down to one running back, as Xavier Dangerfleld was out, and will be until the sectionals. The Irish don't have 6 or 7 RB's. Jimmy Pappas carried the ball 34 times last night. It's a real feather in the cap to beat Center Grove, especially two years in a row. That's one fine football program!
  21. No 5:30 Saturday night Mass for me. The Irish begin play at 3:30.
  22. As Coach Corso used to say, " not so fast, my friend." Don't ever count out the Irish!😉
  23. Cathedral 21, Center Grove 15. The Irish defense sacked the CG QB 8 times. And the Trojans scored all their points in the 4th quarter. That's 37 points the Irish have given up in the 4th quarter in the last two games, both wins.
