  1. I hope the Irish defense can find itself today! 26.5 is a lot to overcome if they're giving up points like they have been. Scoring hasn't been much of a problem.
  2. Maybe Luke Fickell needs to go too. Wisconsin lost, at home, to Maryland 27-10, and the Badgers scored their TD in the last minute. The Coach just stood on the sideline and chewed his gum. He never changed his expression the whole game. Maybe he has a huge contract buyout?
  3. Oh my!
  4. Tulsa 19, Oklahoma State 12. Gundy's seat has to be red hot by now, especially after a 3-9 record last year. He's been the OSU coach for 21 years, and recently agreed to a cut in salary.
  5. I parked next to the Southport coach's father-in-law and I asked what was the problem. He said we're young, we're not very big and we don't have much talent. It's a shame that a school of that size doesn't have some football players. They're similar to North Central and Tech in that respect.
  6. Oklahoma State is losing to Tulsa with about 7 minutes left, 19-9. It doesn't look good for Mike Gundy's job after losing 69-3 last week.
  7. Cathedral 54, Southport 0. The Cardinals haven't scored this season. The Irish pulled their starters early in this one, and all that dressed seemed to get in the game. Southport has a great facility, it was their homecoming, but they just couldn't score even against Irish JV. I do give them credit for playing hard.
  8. Not this Irish fan! I'll be glad to just get a win!
  9. My wife and I were Racer season ticket holders and rabid fans of the team back in the 1970's. I will always cherish those days as I was privileged to see Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Davey Keon and many more greats, granted in the twilight of their careers but they still had some skills. I also saw some up and coming stars like Marc Tardiff, and of course Wayne Gretzky. We were witnesses to Gretzky's first professional goal, something to remember. Whether Indy is capable of supporting an NHL franchise, is anyone's guess. I'm too old to even worry about it. I still watch a lot of NHL games and try to follow the league the best I can. It's an amazing sport to watch in person. I also enjoy watching on TV, but I hear a lot of folks say it's difficult to follow the puck. Even at my advanced age I find that not the case for me. I just watch wherever the players are grouped, or where they're heading.
  10. The Irish SOS is sure pretty good!😉
  11. Just stating facts. It's not close enough for sectionals to get too excited. Besides, I'm an Irish homer!😉
  12. New Pal's biggest game was against Decatur Central. Cathedral has played Ben Davis, Brownsburg, Cincinnati St. X and Bishop Chatard to date, with Center Grove and Warren Central yet to come. Don't base your opinions on W's and L's!
  13. It's good to hear the opponent's fans whining about the officials for a call for once.
  14. Yeah, someone else thought so: Former NFL Ref Blasts SEC Officials After Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M Finish
  15. 40 should be a winning score in 99% of football games, well that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it should be enough. There was absolutely no pass rush that I remember in the entire game. Give any passer time and they'll find an open receiver. I have already deleted that game. I didn't have the stomach to watch it again.
  16. A much deserved Irish loss! 41-40 is the score and the Irish missed an extra point on their last TD and A&M scored with 13 seconds left and kicked the extra point. The officials did miss an obvious hold on the winning 4th down play. In fact the Notre Dame rusher was tackled, but no call. Two weeks to prepare for this game and the defense gives 'em 41! They brought it down the ramp to near the field, and then they transported the injured player on a cart to the ambulance than was in the stadium.
  17. Injured player was able to give a thumbs up as he was taken from the field. Great sign! Irish down 28-24 at halftime! Lots to get straightened out at halftime by the Irish coaches.
  18. Bad injury for an A&M player. They're actually bringing an ambulance onto the field. This is sad!
  19. The Irish were in command and then all of a sudden they aren't! They can't stop the A&M offense at all! It just seems they can't play a full 60 minutes so far. The playoffs start tonight for the Irish!
  20. It's almost gametime in South Bend! Wish I was there!
  21. I just watched the replay of this game on Indiana SRN, and it was almost as exciting as it was in person.
  22. I'm quite surprised for the Avon output against Brownsburg. The Orioles must be back!
  23. This game deserves its own thread! Van Krisiloff kicked a 46 yard field goal with 9 seconds left for the Irish! He has to be the best all around kicker in the state of Indiana! The Trojans got out to a quick 13-0 lead in the first half, and led 13-6 at halftime after two Krisiloff field goals. The Irish then scored two second half TD's, yes you read that right, and took a 20-13 lead and was driving for another score when the Irish fumbled and it led to the Trojans tying the game. Then the Irish blocked a punt with 1 minute and 4 seconds left, and they worked close enough for Krisiloff's heroics. Everyone got their money's worth in this one! Hat's off to a very good BC team. I wish them well for the rest of the season! I'm worn out, got to get to bed!
  24. Cathedral 23, Bishop Chatard 20. Van Krisiloff kicked a 46 yard field goal with 9 seconds left for the winning margin. Krisiloff also kicked two other FG's and two EP's and the Irish scored two touchdowns in the second half, after overcoming a 13-0 BC lead. It was a typical hard hitting Catholic football game. Hat's off to the Trojans, and good luck the rest of the season. I'm so worn out, it's hard to type!
  25. The bus is about to depart from here to Butler. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans tonight.
