  1. That doesn't surprise me. That's quite a nice course! What about the 300 miles from the Indiana border rule?
  2. I've been away since last season, so has the 300 mile rule been rescinded? I know where IMG is located as I've visited a friend who lives a couple miles from IMG in Bradenton. I passed it many times and was amazed that a "high school" had it's own golf course.
  3. I was notified yesterday that this game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium. No further details, only that it will take place opening night on August 18th. No time was indicated or whether there will be another game that nigh, I would presume that to be the case though.
  4. Purdue is getting a good one! He's probably the best multi sport athlete at Cathedral in many years. And a fine young man to boot! Purdue signee Jaron Tibbs wins Indianapolis City Male Athlete of the Year - BoilerUpload (rivals.com)
  5. Colts choose Florida's Anthony Richardson with the 4th pick in the NFL draft. He's got the size and the athletic ability to be a good one, and he still quite young.
  6. A team never has too many QB's on their roster, but having two "starting" QB's, now that can b e a problem.
  7. It was good to see Damar Hamlin at the Super Bowl yesterday, and no that wasn't a stunt double! He also said he'd like to play football again, but that may take awhile to determine if that's possible. The vast misinformation business seems to be endless and really sad.
  8. Equipment improvements and some rule changes have been helpful in cutting down instances of CTE and other injuries. Auto racing for example had a high rate of deadly accidents back in the early day, as late as the 1960's and '70's. Improvement in equipment and track safety advancements has reduced that number greatly, and there not many sports more dangerous than auto racing. It's up to families to figure what's best for their children.
  9. I've been out all day and wonder if the Colts have named or presented Shane Steichen yet today. I saw an article that he was on his way to Indianapolis early this morning. BTW, Shane was a great movie!
  10. I would have to agree wholeheartedly. Harry is a rock, but it's sort of strange that he waited so long to make the decision to retire. I'm sure he has good reasons, and wanting to watch his kids play is a legitimate reason for his retirement. I wish him good luck and also hope the Irish can find an adequate replacement. I'm sure they will.
  11. But Bob, it's the Super Bowl and no one is going to rock the boat and criticize anything that happened. You didn't hear anything about the terrible "grass" field either, but you know the players didn't like it much. There were a lot of penalty calls not made last night, but that one was and it was borderline at best, no matter what time of the game it occurred. I can't remember that many motion calls not made in a game before, and I've seen a lot of games in my years.
  12. Great game, for a change, and a terrible playing field. It was sad to see the players slipping and sliding so much. A very questionable call on the holding as a lot of other things were let go during the game that probably would have been called in the regular season or earlier in the playoffs. Steichen looks like the right hire for the Colts also. Maybe Jeff Saturday will accept a position coaching job or a front office job with the Colts?
  13. I'm hoping that the Colts are waiting for someone involved in coaching in the SB. Lots of names being thrown about, in addition to those who've had a least two interviews. No way Jeff Saturday gets the head coaching job! I wouldn't mind seeing him stay with the franchise in some assistant capacity or in some kind of advisory capacity. I also believe they should stick with the #4 draft pick. I've seen a lot of mock drafts and it looks like a franchise QB will be available at #4, and they can keep their players and draft picks. Just my uneducated opinion.
  14. When a famous person dies, it's not necessary to bring up negative stories about them. There should be respect for them. All of us have things in their past that we don't want to be known at all, especially at the time of our death. But I realize that respect is difficult for some.
  15. The WHA had a lot of stars on their last legs, and a lot of up and coming stars. I was a Racers season ticket holder and it was worth it just to see Wayne Gretzky score his first professional goal. Bobby Hull really got me hooked though. In 1974, one of the first game I attended Bobby took a wrist shot into the net that the naked eye couldn't see. All I saw, sitting behind the goal, was the net bulge. I was hooked! There's nothing quite like live hockey!
  16. IMO, Tommy Ree$ going to Alabama ha$ $omething to do with $$$$$$$ also. Taking care of the family. I wish him well.
  17. Some good news for IU: Why QB Tayven Jackson is transferring to IU football: 'This was home.' (msn.com)
  18. Nice comeback win for the Jags! They win 31-30 on a last second FG. They trailed the entire game.
  19. Committing on the Mayor has nothing to do with the game of football. Never mind, some just can't help it.
  20. I'm disappointed that this thread turned political. There are many other places to discuss this subject. I expect this site to be about football.
  21. Georgia was pretty much unbeatable in the final game!😉
  22. I still think Georgia was really good!
