  1. Some of those yards have to be credited to Boise State bringing their own officials. In fact, all visiting teams bring their own league officials. Most of the calls were warranted, but there were a few that were a bit questionable. I wish the Irish could remedy this situation, but the only way to do that is join a conference, and that ain't happening anytime soon.
  2. You just can't lose to UCLA this season! Also, Florida won over Texas in a bit milder upset.
  3. 28-7 final. The defense was much better today against a very good offensive team. And it was good to have Leonard Moore back! Two picks for him in the game.
  4. Irish offense is moving the ball well against Boise State, but they're only up 14-7 late in the first half. The Irish have had two unsuccessful 4th down plays.
  5. The Irish have only two with varsity experience. Lots of young RB's.
  6. Purdue actually looks like a football team this year! They're trailing Illinois at the moment but they're looking like they care! That's good to see!
  7. Cathedral was down to one running back, as Xavier Dangerfleld was out, and will be until the sectionals. The Irish don't have 6 or 7 RB's. Jimmy Pappas carried the ball 34 times last night. It's a real feather in the cap to beat Center Grove, especially two years in a row. That's one fine football program!
  8. No 5:30 Saturday night Mass for me. The Irish begin play at 3:30.
  9. As Coach Corso used to say, " not so fast, my friend." Don't ever count out the Irish!😉
  10. Cathedral 21, Center Grove 15. The Irish defense sacked the CG QB 8 times. And the Trojans scored all their points in the 4th quarter. That's 37 points the Irish have given up in the 4th quarter in the last two games, both wins.
  11. I didn't make it to the game, first one I've missed this season, but what a defensive effort for the Irish! 21-15 final! Now, I really need some rest! I can't edit the score.
  12. As a longtime Cub fan, I appreciate the honesty from Matt! 2016 was a magical year, but no reason to believe this can't be a special year too!
  13. This is usually a real good one! Last year's game will be hard to top, a 49-45 Irish win. This has been a tough week for me as I, and Cathedral, lost a good friend. His name was George Speckman and he had a short battle with cancer and passed away last week. A lot of us will miss George! And I had two doctor's appointments that have worn me out, and I may not make it to Center Grove tonight. I haven't made that decision yet. And, on a good note, today is the 18th anniversary of my colon cancer surgery. I had 5 ft. of my cancerous colon removed October 3rd, 2007. It's hard to believe I can even do what I'm capable of doing nowadays. Cancer is a terrible thing!
  14. There was a lot of craziness from the Colts that you don't see much in high school football. It's evident there wasn't enough concern about fundamentals during this game. This falls on the entire coaching staff, not just the head coach. More attention to detail is not too much to ask from an NFL staff.
  15. You're welcome! SOS of 15 is pretty good, but it should go up with Center Grove and Warren Central yet to play. I'm not quite sure why we shouldn't have unlimited reactions, but there's probably a good reason.
  16. SOS isn't based on out of state games, only in state games. There's no reason for Bishop Chatard to have that kind of advantage.
  17. No one to blame but themselves for this one!
  18. Colts gave that one away! They have no one to blame but themselves! First of all, you don't celebrate until you score! Secondly you don't penalize yourself on a TD play. I sure hope that doesn't hurt 'em down the road to the playoffs!
  19. The Rams score a late first half TD and lead the Colts 13-10 at halftime.
  20. Southport scored their first touchdown of the season in their 6th game. It's not a small school, or a disadvantaged one, they just don't have many football players, or so it seems.
  21. I would have a problem with that. I'm a diehard Irish fan and that's just plain silly to have them above an undefeated Hoosier team at this point. It's good to have two Indiana schools rated highly this year again. As long as we're talking Sagarin, in the Indiana high school ratings Bishop Chatard is #10, with a SOS of 27, and Cathedral is #24, with a SOS of 15. Also, Cathedral won the head to head with BC, 23-20. It seems the Sagarin computers are having a really bad weekend. Maybe some GIGO issues.
  22. And don't forget Brian Kelly's legacy about big games too.
  23. One last thing. I'm glad to see Mark Zackery still getting some meaningful minutes and playing pretty well!
  24. I agree wholeheartedly! Here' what he told the press after the game> What Marcus Freeman Said After Notre Dame Obliterated Arkansas
