  1. I'm going with the home team Panthers . Biased ..... eh maybe maybe not.
  2. @LawrenceGreene curious . ... who is bnl's rival on the football field? Do they even have one.
  3. Yes I found that out after googling him. I think bnl is a lot better this week than they were earlier this season when they faced the ville. Took a week or two for them to wake up that they weren't under weber anymore and they can actually play. By the way I know south handled martinsville but take away the d 1 recruits that transferred from kansas to bhss ( the mccoulough bros) and i feel like that game is pretty even. That martinsville passing game has been good for decades. ...
  4. Sorry bout the typos can't seem to find the edit option on my phone ....
  5. For the bnl fans. I didnt know weber had resigned until recently, and I'm curious if others feel like he was holding back the program? Not sure thw job was ever for him and if it were at some point the thought that came to my mind was ot was time for him to move on. I hate to see a coach hold back young men as hard as they work. I think back thw the kirk kennedy era at bhss the boys absolutely despised him.....
  6. tried to use my phone to put in that last post didn't come out to well 🙃
  7. Well a but disappointed with the bhss Terre haute n game . But a win is a win. To be fair there mY have a decent team this year they put up some big numbers last week . Columbus north sent a message i feel . Bhsn won as all probably thought they would. On paper I still think bhss should be the conference favorite however they still have a lot of issues.... hope they find their identity soon ......
  8. Well to be fair there have been periods where the transferring was in the other direction. I remember a three sport athlete transferring from South in the early 90s by the last name Warfield had he stayed at south they would have been a contender when bo barzilauskas was a soph or freshman at south. And a whole slew of transfers during the kirk Kennedy era . And it really doesn't bother me anyways the school board has robbed south for decades now with their districting. South should probably be a center Grove sized school if they had common sense districting. Instead we have large swaths of communities that were historically Panthers living south of bhss going to bhsn.
  9. The mccoulough Brothers play d at South add in two transfers from bhsn to South d as well. And I believe that will more than counter anything that.bhsn has. Dasan mccouliugh was an OSU committ b4 flipping to iu when his dad took a coaching job here his brother is pretty good as well. Admittedly though I thought martinsville had more success in the passing game last Friday than I thought they should have. Really feel like south should have one of the best d's in the southern end of the state. I think coach Johnson is a bit behind where coach moriarity would have this team. But I mean mo is a hall of fame coach so you will have to expect that. P.s. I really feel like if dasan mccoulough keeps playing at this level he will get some votes for Mr Football.
  10. Greetings to the both of you. Nice to see your both doing well been a stressful couple of years for me. Glad I got that out of the way. When you.make it through the hard years it should be smooth sailing from here on out ..... let's hope 🙏
  11. Forgive me if there is a thread for this year already , doubt it though. Long gone are the days when this conference was a yearly top 5 conference. Unsure of other teams , only know that if bhss didn't have the Mccullough brothers and maybe one of the transfers from bhsn I think they would have played martinsville pretty even last Friday night.. bhss coach Johnson said in his radio pregame interview he is unsure why the boys transferred from bhsn but what is he supposed to do omit them from the team? Nah I think he just said he will gladly accept them but truly doesn't know why they keep transferring. From what I hear some folks are unhappy with coach bless at North. 'Some' I said and I've seen it myself on social media .... man I'm telling you former OSU commit flipped to IU Dasan McCullough(BHSS) may work himself into the Mr Football discussion by seasons end if he keeps doing what he does. Dude is a tornado out there touch 'ing' down 😆 at least oncee a game so far this season..
  12. C'Grats Castle knights. Always nice to see BHSN lose . Look forward to next season hope they dont reroute the sectional. Bhss had 3 weeks off and numerous varsity players out (7 starters covid) in the sectional vs castle.. Im not sure south would have won even had they had those guys but sure it would have been a bit more competitive. I sort of like being matched up with the knights but wish the sectional could be under a different format so that bhss wouldn't have to drive to castle every singe time....... Does anyone know if the ping pong balls pick which team is in the bottom part of the bracket or is that based on geography? Because it has fallen that way every time the teams have played in the postseason,
  13. Likewise nice to see familiar names still keeping up with the goings on of ihsaa football. Me , i took up hiking been hitting all the local state and federal forests trails in a 50-100 mile radius (and there are a lot in south central indiana) . A break from politics/covid/riots/ and my own personal misfortunes this year. And the panthers had a ho hum season in moriarity's retirement season. I like Gabe Johnson but im not sure how he will fare here. Moriarity had a longstanding familiarity of bhss since his playing days at martinsville were near the time period that saw the panthers go 60-0 in a 6 year period he knew the ins and outs of the program and how to coach them here. Even after the districts changed here in 2000-2010 that saw long time panther communities re routed to bhsn mo still came here and had a successful run. Now i feel like south will drift back down into the kirk kennedy / drew wood era's unless gabe johnson is as good a coach as mo which could work out but not extremely likely. Hadn't thought much of H.S. football but i did think about the ci pickem i ran for the last several seasons just wasnt up to it this year. Good luck to you all . Probably my only log in till next year...... P.S. did 'The Dude' ever come back? The guy siac guy that had the 812 poll every year?
  14. My only log in this entire season. Congrats Castle on defeating the bhss panthers it had been a few years since they knocked off the panthers. Only reason i logged in and it really wouldn't have mattered this year because BHSS HC is in his first year and the panthers were not very strong at the skill positions on offense. That being said im definately disappointed in the fact that every season no matter what bhss has had to drive to newburgh for the tournament game vs castle 5 times now (1983, 2015, 2016,2019,2020) they have played in the tournament and every game was played at castle . The teams have only met once in reg season and that was at bhss . Somehow bhss won 3 of those 5 road tournament games at castle , but that is a long long drive and certainly unfair for every game to have been played at castle . Seeding the brackets could be a solution most years . Seeding isnt perfect as we know but most years i believe the correct seed would prevail. Either way good luck to the knights im a fan of bhss and whoever is playing bhsn or martinsville. And next week castle has bhsn hope they(Castle) can get the W. Good luck ....
  15. Article did not mention whether he was still going to be an employee at bhss. The way i read the article the feeling i had afterwards was that he was retiring from the mccsc as well as hc of the bhss panthers.

  17. Isnt larry central ranked number 1 in basketball first weekly rankings?
  18. Nice to see some Positive vibes for the underdogs in the state title game. Part of me thinks that valpo may suprise as well . But i thought Center Grove and Cathedral would have done the same vs new pal. I think the big thing about new pal's total team is that it isn't just Charlie Spegal or their d lineman that is headed to msu, i believe that almost every player out there is stronger than the average player that are opponents in some way and they use their total team strengths very well. Hope both teams leave it all on the field and see where the chips fall.
  19. Sagarin wise it looks like Valpo is roughly one ratings point below cathedral. Cathedral had their chances vs new pal. I picked new pal to win this on 38-13. More i think of it i believe it may be closer but just not sure valpo can score..... Maybe revise my score to 30-16 NP.
  20. Guess all i needed to say was the 4th best team in the hhc is 11 sagarin ratings points below bhss. I realize sagarin is not always correct and New Pal knows football obviously. Anyways congrats to the dragons.
  21. Sagarin has bhss ranked the third best team in the hhc ratings wise trailing delta by three ratings points. Bhss at times played well vs new pal and their running game. Just saw the stats and edited this post. 0 Passing yards for NP. The running game was clicking so no need to throw it i guess, 0-2 passing . Spegal broke the big plays like he does vs any team, sort of snowballed from there . But I highly doubt over the course of a regular season schedule that bhss is losing to many teams in that conference. The panthers didnt look good last night for sure, i think they spent what they had this season just winning a regional . Didn't bring much to the table vs NP. . Outbalanced Outmanned Outeverythinged pretty much. Bottom half of the hhc probably not.
  22. Who knows? I think since new pal beat cg like they did then you have to go with new pal until someone else proves otherwise. Np 38 Valpo 13
  23. I should have been more descriptive. I was talking about pre playoff era or close to that time period when the playoff started. I remember reading a postgame article from the bloomington paper from the 60's or so saying almost the same thing i said about how schools up north claim they play the toughest brand of football. Also i should have mentioned i was mainly talking about big school football. Which is true . Big school football south of columbus is for the most part non existent
  24. Speaking of valpo. I remember the days when folks from northern indiana thought that they played the toughest football in the state. "the region" they would say.. .. ... ... Not much doing up north nowadays. Not much can be said of southern indiana either at least south of Columbus anyways.
  25. Could is the keyword. Bloomington all star team would have two teams that won a combined 15 games. An d obviously the two combined schools would be near 3500 students. Would they ? I think they probably would but i think it would be a lot closer than 45-0 I think we would see a score within single digits. . Same could be said of Columbus a columbus all star team may actually beat New Pal. I agree this south team was the beneficiary of a hall of fame coach and a sub par south regional. But New Pal will be the 5 a champ so i have to give them their due. South did well at times against their run. But Speagal busted the big plays on them like he does everyone.............
