I was a player In The 90s when beating center Grove was a fun good old time . Man have things changed. Lots of discussion has went into the greatest teams in state history the early 2000 warren teams being the general concensus best . Center Grove has to be up there in all time best teams. Would 2019 new pal beat this cg team?

South was down 3 starters their starting qb(1000+ passing and a couple hundred rushing) rb(1000+ rushing) and best wr which all started the first game. Unsure whether south lost any more kids throughout season at other positions . Watching the game south really missed their offensive production . The d was on field too long this game was 14 14 in late 3rd q I believe. Souths d just got wore down and NA Was beneficiary of the short field during their late drives. The south offense was down to sophomore qb and rb and they couldn't get anything going. I realize NA Was down kids the first meeting this year but had south had those kids I feel the game would have tilted possibly the exact opposite score. By the way when na beat south last season it was south head coaches first game as bhss hc. Not to dismiss the w for na but takes a bit for Kids to changeover from a hall of fame coach that retired the year before.

A lot of things went Into souths loss. NA deserves credit for the win. I personally feel south was spent . Kids gave too much win their sectional . Didn't have anything left and when the qb n rb went down for South that was it. I'm not a huge iu fan even tho I have lived in btown most my 40 some odd years. I think Tom Allen was an odd hire and think like any other iu football coach is obvious headed the wrong way. I think McCullough should've stuck with osu. We will see

Not making it up , if I had the time to go back and dig through the yearly newspaper articles talking about injuries I would. . . . I don't have an answer as to why. But I mean you can't lose your upperclassmen skill guys and insert sophs and expect the next man up rule to prevail. As for the last guy above that says Simmons was the best player on the field uh maybe he hasn't seen the mccoullough that was committed to osu that flipped to iu to play for his dad that got hired as an assistant at iu . NA is at full health however the bhss team they beat was down probably 75% of their offensive production from the 1st game they played. Had south been fully healthy NA would not be regional Champs . They really benefitted from South being completely unaBle to move the football with two sophs leading the offense. South d was on the field too much . As everyone knows this game won't be close, congrats to na but their season ends in the cold indianapolis night next Friday. Just wish we could have seen a cathedral cg rematch in the 6a tourney. BD is playing well cg may have their hands full vs them next week. Cg didn't exactly destroy their regional opponent last night.......

Panthers were also without their best wr who went out week 5 I believe for the rest of the season. Which is a recurring theme for bhss football , been this way for a decade at least. We never finish the season with the starting roster we came in with. Championship teams stay healthy . I Remember the 1990s probably the most successful decade in bhss history we always stayed healthy , it is possible. All this being said bhs/bhss Panthers always had a pretty even win/loss vs new albany high throughout the last 80 years on the football field . Last night NA benefitted from the short field in the second half seemed like alot of their late drives started in panther territory. Couple it with the south offense not being able to move the ball without their starting 1000 yard back and 1000 yard passing qb and it was all NA. Congrats on the regional title . Good luck scoring vs cathedral. I think at one point this season they were a top 25 nationally ranked team.

💯. All that being said I'm still slightly disappointed. Really thought our d would cause a turnover and force some more punts . Concerning heading into the off season. We do however have a lot of sophs on d so hopefully they will come back better for it next year. Not slighting new albany but in reality they were throttled by south, bhsn earlier in the year ... ahh well ...

Certainly going to be hard to win when you lose your starting qb and rb. Souths d was. . .. .. okay ...... was a tad disappointed in the defense but they were on the field alot since the offense couldn't move the ball with a soph backfield. Still would have expected to compete to win even in that scenario but it just didn't happen. Cathedral will wipe up the southern semistate as we know they would regardless who won this one.

Yeah still give credit to NA . South can look to next year

I like what south has done defensively the last couple of weeks. My prediction Panther d limits NA to 17 points and they win by 9 28-17 .

Looks like bhss hc Gabe Johnson won a sectional title while hc at triton central. I thought this was his first.... while looking at John harrell football bhss schedule , the hc name is highlighted where you can see what schools each hc has coached at.

Qb and center for Panthers got injured. Bhsn played their best game . I think south should beat na next week but it will most likely be a closer ball game than the 50-20 score south won by week1

Every year ! You really have to have a once in a lifetime team( for most average/good football schools) to beat them unless your a top 5 mic team .

The olineman that went out was their center according to the radio broadcasters. Could make next week really interesting. 🤔

Congrats to bhss hc Gabe Johnson for I believe his 1st sectional title of his head coaching career , as well as former bhss(a long time ago) assistant football coach now new albany hc Steve Cooley on another sectional title I believe he won a few when he coached on ft Wayne harding (school maybe defunct now. At any rate I don't know how new albany has progressed this year in the regional title so they must be doing good . Bhss could be without their starting qb who left the sectional title game after the half. Seymour was who I was hoping came out with the w. So now it's another long long drive down south for bhss. Had a thought while at work this past week that bhss goes 9-3 this season after fabricating some parts that wound up strangely aligned 9 and 3 when usually they dont wind up aligned that way my own crystal ball maybe . Obviously that is a regional win and a loss to cathedral at semistate. Doable since south already doubled up new albany in week 1 . @ptrwho you got ?

Yeah South is sort of caught like a deer in headlights they are really off 😳. Keep playing defense and don't turn the ball over and the Panthers should win.

South up 14-7 , sound like a sub par performance for south according to the announcers anyways. North is playing well to stay in this one . Seymour leads new albany the Panthers haven't played Seymour since the early 90s.
